Douglas Edward Henrison (1874- 1962)

Douglas Henrison was born in 1874 in a relatively poor family. His mother worked as social studies teacher and his father served in the military. At the age of 6 he went to school when a massive war started in his country of birth. By the time he was 10, the enemies were standing at his nation's capital, his father had died in the war, and he and his mother fled the nation on a steam ship "New Hope".
They soon arrived to the so-called "peace zone" where as they were informed, war wouldn't reach them. In the peace zone in it's early years there wasn't really anything you could call an "education system", so Douglas's mother took the initiative, and, along with several other jobless teachers and librarians started teaching kids, using the house of Jimmy McGreen, a member of the intelligentsia who lived nearby and was willing to transfer part of his house to the local self-founded education system.
Having Graduated in 1902, Douglas became one of the first members of the just-formed "Blue Star Militia", and quickly begam to climb through the ranks. His charisma and intelligent manner of speech have earned him a good reputation among the fellow soldiers, and he soon became the unofficial head of the BSM forces in the capital city.
By 1915, Douglas had realized that Blupolian republic was not exactly the paradise he had previously seen it as. He began doing research through the opposition's secret newspapers and found out about the huge amount of bureaurcacy and corruption within the rulling intelligentsia, and began drawing up plans to get rid of those problems.
In 1917, when Douglas was actively involved with the spread of revolutionary ideas, the government started to fear him and even attempted to arrest him. However, when the police officers had arrives to arrest him, they were greeted by Douglas and 37 friends of his, each smiling sarcastically, holding a riffle in hand. Douglas realized how powerful his position was and was now just awaiting a good event to popularize his revolutionary ideas and rally the people behind his cause.
On 1918, the child labour act became the final straw for the people of Novoblupolia. In a perfectly coordinated operation, seceral hundred militia members snuck into the administartive centers of the capital and seized control over the main government buildings. The news were met with delight all over Novoblupolia - by that time, Douglas Henrison had become quite popular among the Novoblupolian common folk.
