The Sphere of Influence System
SummaryThe Sphere of Influence System is a System in which Player nations can influence NPC nations to further align them towards their nation, flipping them to their form of government and being solidly in their Sphere of Influence. Conflicts are rolled via a chart, and nations can interact with nations via the RMB to help gain influence over a nation, maxing out at 10. at 10, nations can be turned into Satellites states (or outright annexed by neighboring non NPC nations), and will be locked into a Player's sphere of influence as a puppet nation. The Player is then able to spark proxy wars with other NPC nations with the Satellite state, growing or shrinking the size of it as wars are fought across a continent.
People's nations can be stopped from forming Satellites, however. So long as a nation is able to influence an NPC before another player reaches 10 influence with an NPC, they can battle it out in a great political game between the two nations, going back and forth on how influenced said nation is. If a player's influence is waning, they could attempt a coup, that itself could directly lead to a civil war where whoever wins gains the nation as a satellite. This allows people to interact and fight wars, without ever truly going to war with the other, as was common in the Cold war. Nations are encouraged to create their own spheres while being under other nations who have greater spheres then them, forming a great web of connections and interaction, where conflicts are just as struggles politically as they are ideologically.
Rules
-
1. Any PC nation can influence an NPC nation. Influence is gained via conflicts had within a NPC nation.
2. only 1 influence is ever gained per conflict per nation. Conflicts change per map update
3. there can only be 10 influence max in an NPC nation. if there's multiple nations influencing an NPC, the influence is substracted from other nations, and given to the one influencing it.
4. Upon reaching 10 influence, an NPC can become a "satellite" of a nation.
5. Upon becoming a satellite, PC nations can directly influence said NPC nation to go to war with other NPCs, causing a Proxy war.
6. Proxy wars are fought between player nations via mercenaries or direct involvement. if the Satellite is the attacker and wins, it gains land off the NPC nation. if its the attacker and loses, the Satellite is lost from a PC nation's sphere, and has to be influenced again.
7. if a PC nation is losing a NPC nation Influence race, it can instead attempt a Coup against the NPC nation to try and secure it in its Sphere. this causes a Civil war within the nation, which must be fought between all influencer nations until a victor is decided.
8. No NPC nation can be wiped out besides annexation.
9. Proxy wars can only develop into full scale wars if all participants consent to the war.
10. Proxy war victors are decided either by the participants or by how much support the admins believe each side has.
NPC Nations experience "Conflicts" every so often. This is how influenced is gathered, as directly involving yourself in a NPC nation's conflict is how to gain influence in it.
The conflict is decided from a chart which changes their influence or government. you can check here:

During the second great war, Maringia flipped represents itself as a Third Position nation, that likely would've joined the war on the side of the Volstorans were it not for entry of Aatelisia into the war. Summary |

|

|
Mulacia |
Mulacia sits in a weird spot, being one of the first nations to gain independence from a foreign in the newly shaping Estora. It was released from Tiresta, and Imperialist power that saw itself on the losing side of the Great War. While Mulacia released from a relatively well off nation, a recession in the 70s killed off any forward movement for the nation, and it is now simply a pawn of powers far greather than it ever was. |
|
Ostyern |
The Republic of Ostyern, still clinging to legitimacy as the seat of authority for the union it once controlled, has since managed its collapse by falling into a dictatorship under joint-control of the military and conservative faction. Efforts have been made to stem the economic fallout from failed union, but more and more radicals in the country look towards a forceful reunification. |
|
Volosten |
Formerly a constituent part of the cultural union with Ostyern, Volosten broke away during the dissolution of the republic during 214ME. Initially a shaky union of left-wing radicals and regionalists, Volosten quickly emerged as a socialist-oriented republic. |
|
North Volstora |
When Volstora was defeated in the Second Great War, it was split in two between the two powers of Aatelisia and Arvene. North Volstora fell under Aatelisia's influence, which turned it into a Socialist Republic, guaranteeing the loss of all old war iconography. Splitting with South Volstora, the two obviously wish to one day reunite, but North Volstora would wish for it be under a red star rather than whatever the south has to offer. |
|
South Volstora |
When Volstora was defeated in the Second Great War, it was split in two between the two powers of Aatelisia and Arvene. South Volstora fell into Arvene's hands, leading it to a Capitalist Republic, which while not completely abandoning the old ideas the nation once had, it still shunned the old government that caused their defeat in the first place. It one day wishes to reunite with North Volstora, though casting the communist party that rules it into a fire if it can help it. |
|

Wielkia awoke after a squabble with Krajnia caused the two to fracture in a violent civil war. And while Wielkia hoped independence could save it from instability, it only seemed to worsen the issue. |
|

A historical border march between the Arvenian and Aatelisan nations, Pelkand developed a unique nationalistic identity and a proud culture that brought it through the turmoil of the World War. Home to great boreal forests and swamp lands, Pelkland has long made use of its natural geography to defend itself. |
|
The Yustov |
The Yustov has been around for centuries as one of the oldest Nations with one of the oldest cities as well. Unlike many of the minor independent States, The Yustov's decay was a slow process going back decades, with the state following behind massively during the industrialization of Lerodas. |
|
Chukuo |
While Chukuo is technically an Estoran state, its connections mostly lie with Kastia, where it was a major player in the region for centuries. While having many trade goods to offer around the world, it failed in Industrialization the same way The Yustov did. Now it is fought over on multiple fronts, as its massive population still makes it a worthy state of being influenced. |

The Pachay State formed as a rebellion from Khamkya. The Isolated Jungle of the region caused Khamkya forces to be unable to even retain influence in the region in the first place, and so let Pachay State split off only after a few years. The Pachay State itself hasn't seen any real economic growth since its independence, but its strategic location could make it a valuable target from foreign powers. |
|
Samaistan |
Samaistan was a independent nation that formed from numerous smaller nations that united to hold better influence in the region. Unluckily for them however, they never figured out how to transition from having power held by the small nations formed states, to a centralized government. |
West Manchito |
While West Manchito split from what we call East Manchito, both claim to be a united Manchito. It was carried out by military elements who almost couped the east, but were stopped by the local garrison. Now the two are embittered and battling for the country. |
|
East Manchito |
East Manchito claims to be the continuation of the old government, hoping to go on without all the mistake the old one made. While forces loyal to the current East Manchito governments retained control of the east, it has basically taken control of the government, forming a Military Junta to maintain order. |

|
Inagea |
A native nation to the continent of North Rahmia, Inagea has much reason to hate the likes of both old Colonial nations and the other native nations inhabiting the continent. Inagea participated in the Great War, and while coming out of it intact, the nation has been rocked to the core ever since. |
