**The Independent Meyle: Economy**

30 years ago Meyle was an agricultural society. Its people mainly living on subsistence farming and very minor industries. Their people were content but when Avanor came to their shores despite their proud heritage they were powerless to stop them. The Hochiga Rebellion proved it. It was for this reason the Meyleans knew they must take their fate into their own hands if they want to keep up with the rest of the world and stand as a power with them. With this decision the country dived head-first into the economies of the modern world and in a matter of 15 years, through hard-work, opportunistic investments, and admittedly other, less moral methods, they turned their country from a backwater agricultural state into a fully modern and industrialized country. In those 15 years the gdp of Meyle more then tripled and the average Meyleans individual wealth quintupled. Such an explosion of wealth hasn't come with its drawbacks and with Meyle newly independent many of the checks on those things sacrificed to bring about this wealth begin to creep into Meylean society.

One feature of Meyle which makes it economy unique is, like with many parts of Meylean society it economic duality. During its industrialization the Imperial faction of Meyle managed almost everything of the economy, to make it could grow quickly and sustainably. Once a company was able to get off on its own to further promote its growth on the capitalist market they would auction the seat of CEO to a responsible bidder. Typically one who was already a respected buisnessman or economist who already had a hand in growing the company working for the government. As the industrialization continued Meyle slowed down their buisness growth in that way and the Meylean economy began to run with only minimal intervention by the central government, yet there is still a strong presence of both state-owned and state-sponsored companies in Meyle who manage many things.

The drawback of this though is the emergence of the "Palkança" a group of 7 family owned companies who together control around 78% of the nations economy. Being heavily vertically-integrated conglomerates these companies control many aspects of the Meylean economy, from Heavy Industry, Services, Transport, and shipbuilding. The overlap of buisness ventures has mostly discouraged competition between the Palkança as it would disrupt the balance of power and worsen the economy overall for everyone, instead choosing to invest both domestically and internationally to grow and compete with each other. The 7 Palkança heavily invest into Meyle's development and financial security yet their influence and grip on the economy has caused a few protests and calls from more left-wing individuals to break them up, although their power is still too great and their meddling in internal affairs not big enough to cause any nationwide outburst(yet).

The 7 Palkança of Meyle are:
Tanpanshaiath Industries-Owned by Megima Hyell
Kalma Group-Owned by Lord Anval Kalma
Pochi-Filichan ltd.-Owned by Ageri Filichan
Tazeuto Group-The Tazeuto Family owns the company with a council making up the positon of "CEO"
Chutelva Air Industries-Owned by Araçon Chutelva
Yalema Electrics-Owned by Benal Arnat
Teçata Corporation-Owned by Vata Peven

These 7 companies tend to have a specialization but the prescence in most aspects of the Meylean economy with all of their subsidiaries, branch offices, partners, etc. Mean you could find a stamp of one of these companies on anything. They also make up the largest employers in the country. Followed by The Government and then religious institutions. Small-buisnesses do exist and are still very common in Meyle, both in the rural and Urban areas but they mainly just serve their own localities. Meyle in general focuses its industries more on heavy industries and ship building. While their military ships are mostly bought or handed-down the Meylean merchant marine is almost entirely constructed by scratch or donated by traders. The ports of Anise and Padenti are the two largest ports in the country, handling over half of all trade that comes and goes from the country from just these two ports alone. Padenti's sister city of Hitin, a centre of industry in Meyle exports most of its goods through the port of Padenti. These two things combined make the Greater Urban Area Padenti and Hitin the economic center of the country.

The City of Anise is considered the cultural center of Meyle. Most tourists, when they come to the country come to Anise, sitting on the Bay of Anise and straddling the powerful Kinokaliver River its famous 4 great bridges, Sagan(cherry) gardens and other cultural and historical monuments make it a great place for culture, tourism, and service development as another Economic Center of the country. With the headquarters of most of the major companies in Meyle and the Meylean stock exchange(Gelenian stock exchange) all located in the Anisean economic district of Shinute a lot of investment by both private and national companies has gone into making Anise the most modern city it can be.

In terms of art and media Meyle has long specialized in animation and drawing as a medium of its art. Most of its media tends to lends itself either to the extraordinary or the very internal philsoophical questions of the day. One of the most traditional "plays" in Meyle was the Doze. Artists would spend months creating a myriad of images on multiple canvases. The images were created in a way that would provide an illusion of movement in the images and as a single dancer would conduct their performance the images would change to mark change in sceneries or tones. As time went on these methods began to be used for more faster movements and removed the illusion in exchange for "frames". The styling though has remained and Meylean animation, while not marketed nor gained much traction in foreing markets is very unique to other animation styles around the world. The first ever animated film in Meyle, "The tale of the Princess Haren" was shown off during the Anisean tech fair and since then film and animation has become a popular thing in Meyle with theators being a great social place in many towns in lieu of cafes or restaurants.

The Independent Meylean man enjoys spending their money on entertainment, purchasing outdoor games, hunting rifles, or fine dining. The Independent Meylean Woman enjoys spending their money on Fashion, getting the latest trend in clothing and foods. In many cases it is the Women that are the leading forces in changes of trends and their money mostly goes into the service industry. With the rapid growth of Meyle's economy, its seen a consistent growth of 4-5% a year although the 2 years after independence it slowed a little it still continues to grow as the country continues its development, self-sustainability and expands its projects into both its domestic and foreign industries and investments.

As the years continue and the Palkança continue their growth and rising influence in the country will this blissful wealth of Meyle continue? Or will their naïvety and complacence in their companies and fail-safes spell their downfall from grace? Only time will tell as the Independent Meyle continues its march into the future!
