For a while now, the team has been a noticeable and strong contender in the competition, having won 4 IIHF competitions. In recent years however, they have been unsuccesful in their pursuit of golden glory. However, they think this year will be different. Nathaniel Buhari notes that "the team has totally rebranded. We've revamped and redone everything. We have new tactics, new gameplans, and a fresh wave of confidence. I think we will win this time". The IIHF will start in a few days, and the Evineans are making their final preparations.

The Onyx Sun, Issue #4 - Worries About the Newly Elected Representatives
After the election with Aziz Traore from the Liberal Party being elected the new president of the nation, there are concerns over newly elected representatives in the parliament. For the first time ever, extremist parties such as the United Peoples' Party, a Marxist political party, and the Lion Nationalist Party, a Fascist political party have gained a noticeable standing in the parliament. Citizens, and political experts, are very worried of this rise in extremism. Sarah Tong, a political scientist at the University of Lacragos, states that "we should be worried. We haven't seen extremist parties elected to the parliament since 80s and early 2000s. This will be a very tense time for Evinea". There have been reports that high profile members of the Liberal Party, even Aziz Traore, have expressed similar concerns. On the flipside, the United Peoples' party and the Lion Nationalist party view this as a way to get their message across. With seats and representation, the two conflicting parties can now get their ideas and views to the nation. Even if most Evineans aren't extremist, there is a slowly growing extremist movement in the nation. We will watch this situation carefully.

The Onyx Sun, Issue #5 - Meeting Between Evinea and Greater New Rhodesia and Nyasaland
Earlier today, President Aziz Traore of Evinea met with Emperor Peregrine II of Greater new rhodesia and nyasaland for the first time. This is due to Peregrine II allowing foreign leaders to enter Rhodesia for the first time ever. Traore was one of the first leaders to fly over to the nation to meet with the Emperor. The meeting was warmhearted and generous, with each leader being open to the other. "I'd like to say to you Mr. Traore, welcome and thank you for visiting our fine nation. I hope you will enjoy your stay here", Peregrene II opened the meeting. In reply, Traore said that he's "thankful for the invite, and hope this meeting will only be the beginning of a flourishing relationship between our two nations. This is the start of something new, but great." Traore went along with Peregrine II to visit natural wildlife, beautiful Rhodesian landscapes, and even a display of Rhodesian culture. The meeting between the two African leaders ended with a royal dinner. This foreign affairs trip marks Traore's first international trip since taking office after the election. Traore returns to Evinea tomorrow early morning.

The Onyx Sun, Issue #6 - Investment in the Education and Healthcare Systems
Just today, President Aziz Traore signed a bill into law named the “Investment in Schools and Hospital Act” which would invest $25 billion dollars into regional schools, universities, vocational colleges, polytechnic institutes, hospitals, abortion clinics, and other relevant educational and healthcare related facilities. There has been widespread appraisal of the bill from the public. Evinean citizen Amy Parteh has said that she is “very happy that our education and healthcare systems are getting upgrades. It is very necessary for all Evineans to have access to great education systems and effective healthcare systems regardless of an individual’s background. I believe this is the right step forward.” Some aspects in the Act have encountered opposition, particularly the abortion clinics. The Lion Nationalists, some members of the Conservative Party and Progressive Conservative Party found opposition with that aspect, but as would be obvious, they were in the minority. Without further roadblocks, the bill passed through both houses and was signed. The Act comes into effect tomorrow.

The Onyx Sun, Issue #7 - Replacement of Our Weapons of Mass Destruction
The Ministry of Defense announced that they would be performing a replacement of the nation’s current weapons of mass destruction in order to keep with necessary defenses. The new weapons were acquired via contract between the government and Evispace, a space and aeronautics manufacturing company. This revamp is part of the government’s process of upgrading and reforming the Evinea Armed Forces. The government, Ministry of Defense, and members of the Evinea Armed Forces viewed the move as necessary and crucial. “We have to be ready for anything,” said President Aziz Traore at a press conference. “In the nuclear age, we have to be prepared for any possible scenario. By upgrading our aging systems, we will ensure our safety.” Although the decision is going ahead, there has been some protest to the decision. Anti-nuclear activists have staunchly opposed the move, and have advocated for the elimination of nuclear weapons, and a reduction of the armed forces, believing that less military confrontation would bring peace to the nation. The Government has not responded to these voices, and is set on their path.
