FA Report August-December 2022

COUNCIL STATEMENT

2022 has been a great year for TBH and raiding as a whole! After a slow 2021, the hard work to revive raiderdom paid off big this year. The revival of The Brotherhood of Malice along with the ever-strengthening pile force of Lone Wolves United established a strong coalition that was brought together on numerous occasions, alongside other friendly faces, to absolutely dominate the R/D world this year. From A Liberal Haven and The Mystical Council in the winter, to the amazing record setting tag runs of Lily this summer, all the way to Moon in the fall, Raiderdom and raider-aligned folk have enjoyed a year of great success stories. It has been our absolute pleasure to help lead raiderdom forward this year, and to watch as a new generation of raiders made their mark on the game. We are excited to see what 2023 brings for our young and inspired kin, and to learn what new friends the new year might bring us!

(Hawks On the Moon)

The Black Hawks have been active since the last FA report. During the past 5 month period from August to December 2022, we went around conducting our signature activities, such as stealing cookies, manufacturing cheap merch goods to sell at a profit, and watching anime with friends. Oh and did I mention forced entry into competitor warehouses to spray paint them? We did big on that this half-year, let me show you some of my favourite paintings that we sent around. They’re truly works of art.

In total, we have conducted a total of 47 runs in the past 5 months, achieving a total of 976 hits! Apart from all the Hawkies that made this possible, we would also like to thank our friends for coming along and participating. Every hit, every miss, every target hustled together etches the feelings of that moment into our souls, a bond that we share together. The boredom of waiting through a GCR break, the anxiety of tightening jumps, the joy of hits, the sadness of misses, they are all experiences we share, and we hope to have more allies along together in 2023 to play together with and create new memories.

In addition to our daily hustle, we do occasionally gather everyone for a huge shootout with the do gooders in this town. The ones who wear blue and pretend to protect law and order. The Black Hawks is proud to have engaged and supported allies in multiple shootouts in districts such as Equestria, Realm of the Whispering Winds and even on the Moon. Most of them have been conducted successfully, with districts razed, goods smuggled out and maximum disruption to daily life.

In a recent poll conducted among Hawks to find out their favourite operation of the year, responses were varied but Hawks rated The Mystical Council as their favourite operation of the year, with Panasian Union following close behind.

But shootouts in the city districts with the do gooders aren’t the only things we do. By operating in the darkness and shadows, we meet the occasional lurking blemish that needs to be cleaned. Dark corners like Anti Anime Alliance, The Western Commonwealths, and the brief firefights with New Western Atlantic. It’s a dirty job, and sometimes it falls to those in the underworld to eliminate what lurks in the dark.
That’s why this year, we’ve restarted our tradition of distributing feathers, to all those that have helped out in our notable operations! The complete gallery of all 2022 feathers can be viewed below.

Now, the military requires manpower to be run. Training, sleepers, HR and paperwork, it’s a whole bureau here. That’s why, we’re pleased to announce our new Sergeant additions to help with this mountain of tasks! On the 4th of August, we introduced Sergeant Rushalor (intro) to all of you, but more recently on the 17th of November, we welcomed Sergeant Bronyleader and Sergeant Qekitor to our ranks! We’ll let you meet them soon!

There is a time for welcomes, and a time for farewells. This November, Major Kingsteak stepped down from active council to the council advisory board, due to increasing commitments in the outside world. We truly thank him for his service and wish him fair winds in his life.

The wellbeing of our Hawks and fledgings are very important, so it has been a goal to make all Hawks have a good, healthy sleep schedule. If it could be added to the terms and conditions in invisible ink, we would’ve done so, but we just couldn’t find the materials for invisible ink, so we gave up.

So get an accurate grasp of how Healthy our hawks were, we asked the Hawks two simple questions. What time did they think that they should sleep at and What time did they actually sleep?

The responses were shocking, appalling, and overall a nightmare. We deduced that we might need to buy better beds and pillows, or failing that, resort to violence to make hawks sleep. A good knock on the head usually solves most problems.

To start off, 2/3 of the Hawks replied normally, that sleeping before midnight was the ideal, specifically 10pm was a great time to sleep. This was a great expectation, and we hoped to see as little variation as possible between expectations and reality.

However, this was not the case. In stark contrast, 2/3 of the Hawks slept from 1-6am, with the remaining 1/3 of Hawks sleeping before midnight.

Hawks have a reputation of being Violent, Cranky and have a tendency to set things on fire. This is undoubtedly due to a lack of sleep. When further quizzed about reasons why hawks slept late, the key culprits were of course, Watching Anime, Movies, Youtube and the like. “Just one more episode” - Most Hawks.

The second most popular response was a simpler one “Playing NS”. This was easily solved when Nationstates went down, which should have reset all of these individuals' sleep schedules. To help solve the youtube problem, we have given a call to the sharks to attack the undersea wifi cables more frequently after midnight. Other solutions to force Hawks to sleep early are currently being researched by our Hawk scientists working overtime and late into the night. Do expect results soon.

The underground anime association is also pleased to report that membership numbers have been maintained, with an exact 66% of Hawks continuing to support anime. This is clearly evidenced by the amount of anime merch passing through our underground anime channel, along with the Arknights watchalong that we conducted over December. The amount of rare anime art pieces have also been moving steadily with the seasons, and we have seen an astonishing amount of coats and mufflers, along with guitars and Starbucks drinks this half of the year. More anime watchalongs are being planned as part of the conversion masterplan, and we continue to hope to produce more anime fans in 2023.

Council Advisors

Greetings NS and welcome back to a TBH FA Report! We are happy with our status over the past few months and have worked more closely with many of our allies via tag raids and the opening of embassies. We look forward to continuing working with our partners moving forward. While TBH has not been involved in a serious raider-only DND endeavor since Embassy Regionia, we are happy with the amount of work that we have put into keeping our game clean. Sometimes, when the dirty regions fall, it becomes the burden of those with the resources to do so to rid the site of their presence. It is an honor for TBH to contribute to these efforts, but look for us to get back to normal operations as soon as available! We look forward to assisting our allies on their efforts moving forward, as well as planning some fun events ourselves, so stay tuned! Now on to what we’ve been up to…

TAGGING and OPERATIONAL STATS

Your favourite Hawkies have been active over the last few months, and here’s a little about all that we’ve been up to this quarter, traveling to regions all around NS to spread love, chaos and ice cubes.

This quarter had been quite an eventful one, with the hawks traveling out in a total of 42 runs over the last 4 months to hit a total of 723 targets. Updating isn’t all about hits, but also about the friendships and experiences that we make along the way. We would also like to thank all our allies for participating along with us on tag raids, whether it be laughing and sharing our joy while bigbrainposting, or sharing our sadness over a miss.

Tagging isn’t the only thing that we have been up to, and TBH is glad to have participated with our allies on a large number of Operations over the quarter. The most noticeable of which would definitely be Japan (Report) and Embassyregionia, but we are also proud and honoured to lead and support Antifa Operations such as Sanctum, Layem (Report), PCM and PCMPCMPCMPCM. A number of other smaller operations on Disgusting and Disgraceful regions were also supported, such as the ones on Official Soviet Union, Aliados Brasileiros, The Grand Empire Of Tazann and Anti Communist Liberation Front

MILITARY PROMOTIONS

With so much activity on the field, it’s no surprise that we keep an eye out for talented individuals to assist in the running of the region.
On the 29th of March, TBH also assigned new Deputy Overseers to help manage in the running of the 3 main Corps that form up the running of the region. Sergeant Dawn took over as the new DO for Talon Corps, while Lieutenant Devi took over the position for Terra Corps, with Lieutenant Lucklife filling up the last DO spot in Blade Corps. It was a dark age without Deputy Overseers, but we hope that the filling up of these spots would help us clear more paperwork reach new evil depths. (Dispatch)

Here in TBH, we consider the rank of Sergeant the first leadership rank, when a Hawk has learnt the very essentials of raiding and have proven themselves to be reliable and trustworthy. On the 20th of May, the Hawks officially promoted Bendicion to the rank of Sergeant. Sergeant Bendicion has been to a lot of places across raiderdom, including TBH 5 years ago and we’re definitely pleased to see him taking charge and contributing to the region today!
More recently, on the 8th of July, we also welcomed Sergeant Emu to the war room. Emu has been a chaotic animal, evolving from a hawk to the mythical creature known as an Emu. With their endless screeches striking fear on the battlefield, Emu has gained our respect as a reliable and consistent updater. We’re really eager to see the new heights that Emu will soar to!

Promotions aren’t the only way that we recognise dedication to the region. Along with SGT Ben’s promotion, Lieutenant Lucklife received their first medal on 20th May, The Sword of Leadership for taking charge in regular operations and raids.

Lastly, but not unimportant in the least, we’ve recently had a change in the councilors of TBH. It is always a momentous occasion whenever members of the previous generation of leadership step down to make way for fresh faces in the leading of the region.

On the 26th of June, as TBH slipped past its 17th anniversary, TBH bid farewell to Council Advisor, Major Pterodaxtyl, who retired fully from TBH. Along with the retirement of Major Dax, Colonel Rai also stepped down from active service as the Co-overseer of Talon Corps to the Council Advisory Board.

Along with the changes on that day, Council welcomed Lucklife (Anime Idol) into the council room to manage Terra Corps alongside Drexlore. With LL’s energy, we’re all really eager to see the new things that he’ll bring into the council room!

News from the Nest

This quarter, the Hawks were introduced to Hairless Cats. 75% of the Hawks surveyed agreed that Hairless cats were the worst things in existence, with Mira’s Dispatch on Hairless cats being downvoted to the underworld for being too ugly.

Although no cats were harmed in the making of the dispatch of hairless cats, Most of the hawks disagree and believe that hairless cats were made hairless against their will.

But with all bad things, good things follow in turn. This quarter, the secret public anime channel saw a sharing of over 500 pieces of art for appreciation. The evil hawks stole them from their artists on twitter and put up to display in the anime appreciation channel. The Anime Appreciation Association of Hawks have expressed an interest in pretty blue art, HI3, 2HU and pew pews. They were not disappointed.
The anime association is also pleased to announce that 2/3 hawks have declared their love for anime anime, and the remaining will be brainwashed, we mean converted, given a bit of time.

Lastly, with all the chaos happening in TBH, we also floated a curious question.
If TBH started a rock band, who do you think should be in it? The answers varied, and came close to inconclusiveness, but with much eyeballing and high level data analytical skills, we have reached the following conclusion.

On vocals, with the voice of an angel, The gilded flame, also known as, Ray!
On guitar, shredding out evil tunes, Miravana!
On bass, growling out death, Ravall!
Lastly on drums with sick beats, we have Drexlore!

Oh wait, I think I left out an instrument. That’s right, the rubber chicken!
The chicken is clearly an instrument and the one who deserves it is our very own Bjourn, aka Steak!
