The Fallen Empire of Alexander the Magnus is a colossal, cultured nation, ruled by The Council with an iron fist, and remarkable for its ubiquitous missile silos, unlimited-speed roads, and vat-grown people. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical, humorless, devout population of 9.794 billion Alexandrians are ruled with an iron fist by the corrupt, dictatorship government, which oppresses anyone who isn't on the board of a Fortune 500 company. Large corporations tend to be above the law, and use their financial clout to gain ever-increasing government benefits at the expense of the poor and unemployed.

After the War of the Quadrumvirite , the Promise Valkorion had told Alexandrians had fallen through, and many of the populace was full of unrest. The Emperor turned his attention to quelling the peasants, but in doing so he ignored the larger threat, the disillusioned lower noble class. In a brutal civil war, the field officers of the military versus the foot soldiers loyal to the Emperor led to massive casualties, but an unresolved conflict.

The answer was found in the Purity Virus, designed to lift thirteen soldiers into unstoppable killing machines. In some ways it worked. In other ways it was completely unlike anything they imagined. Super strength, speed, invulnerability to metal and energy weapons, reflexes, among other specialized powers. But more than anything, the need for blood infused the test subjects

From there the Eternal Empire fell rapidly, the Lead houses falling along with the Emperor they stood with. In their stead, the thirteen patriarchs turned on the populace, quickly cementing their rule over Alexandria, giving what became known as the Embrace to its recipients, while the populace looked in Horror as their daughters and sons slowly disappeared, replaced by pale, hauntingly beautiful clones. Worse yet were those corralled into bloodstock, slowly exsanquinated until death, providing sustenance for the new Lords of Alexandria

As three centuries passed, the powers that be solidified, each taking a part of Alexandria, and establishing their own identity. Alexandria now operates as a tenuously united Confederacy, each Clan of roughly equal footing and power, with a few more prominent than others, House Ravnos leads the mercenary market, made up of a small group of deadly warriors, raised from birth to eliminate the opposition utilizing their full capabilities as Turned. The Nosferatu are unlike their compatriots, and cursed with a disfigured appearance, not at all human like, but rather demonic in appearance, however they are blessed with even more strength, stamina, and speed at the cost of other tricks the Turned employ. Finally the Ministry make up the strongest block of Turned. The only Clan who still hold to Vorinism, the Ministry seek to use Purity to bring them closer to the gods, and continue to spread the holy light of Vorinism
