New to Wintreath? Looking to get into the community but aren't sure where to start? If this is you, check out our clubs and guilds! These are smaller groups within the community that can be easier to settle into, especially if you're still getting a fill for things. The difference between them is that guilds are government institutions that help run and grow some part of Wintreath, while clubs are more casual groups formed by Citizens that come together for a common purpose.
Membership in guilds and clubs are usually open to both Citizens and non-Citizens, but you will usually need to be on our forums and Discord to take part in them. So what are you waiting for? Join a guild or a club and start exploring a part of Wintreath!

FOUNDING A CLUB
If there's something else that you'd like to found a club around, that's alright too! If you're a Citizen, you can found a club as well. All you need to do is find 4 other Citizens to be part of it, write a charter detailing the purpose and structure of the club, and submit it to the legislature for final approval. The
link for The Howling Bells is a good template on how to do this.

Help Solve the Murder at Spookyween!What's Halloween without a weird murder mystery to solve? Courtesy of Arenado (North Gralend), this game brings the entire community together with the task of solving the murder of Mr. Spookyween himself! Directions for how to play are at the link, but you can join in at any time until the game closes and all is revealed at the end of October. Join the Frozen Hellscape Art Contest!
In honour of both Halloween and Wintreath's birthday, we're holding an art contest that combines both themes courtesy of Marzipan (New montith): Frozen Hellscape! To take part, just submit some kind of art that you've created that's either Halloween or winter-related (or you can try to get both in!). Speaking of writing, our new friends in Simulacrum are having a Spookypasta Writing Contest on their NationStates RMB! Write up a scary story, the spookier the better, and post it on the RMB! Named "Your Worst Nightmare" (and what better thame for coming into October?) and hosted by Ruguo, this game promises "simple roles, simple rules, and unbelievably stupid and intentionally frustrating mechanics in the most 'make fun of all the bad times' ways". This should especially be great for roleplayers, as it will require all players to play a role, but should still be a great game for new and old players alike. CITIZENS: Weigh in on the Howling Bells Charter Act
As mentioned in the main article, the Howling Bells is Wintreath's presumptive furry club, but to become official it must be approved by the Landsraad. Read the Act and the charter that would found the club, and as a Citizen weigh in on it. Voting on the Act will start in several days, and as a Citizen you can cast your vote when it happens as well!

With the resignation of Svipjoth (read below), we're looking for somebody to fill her shoes and take on the mantle of Thane of Roleplay! This means managing roleplay affairs, including running our RP guild, Rollspelksra, as well as taking part in Cabinet discussions and collaborating with the rest of the Ministry of Culture on events. Svipjoth Steps Down from GovernmentBest known as the founder of Rollspelskra, Svipjoth announced that she'll be stepping down from her roles as Thane of Roleplay and Chancellor of the Landsraad to focus on her life offline and on her studies. In her almost-year as part of the government of Wintreath, Svip has moved mountains and made the dream of a revived and active RP guild into a reality. Fortunately she plans to remain as part of the community, for which we are very thankful, but otherwise we wish her the best in all she's doing!
What happens when the Chancellor resigns?
Svipjoth's resignation led to a brief discussion of what happens when the Chancellor resigns, which isn't explained in the Landsraad's procedural rules. Currently, Arenado (North Gralend) is holding the position as Vice-Chancellor, and the plan is to codify that the Vice-Chancellor becomes the Chancellor as part of the Procedural Rules Update Act, which is discussed in the prior section.

To Be Fair I have several overseas territories that are not in the Regional area but are core parts of the empire. The union of falanoir for one.

Ohai. I decided to lurk NS today and noticed that there was a noticeable Commend in the WA that popped up. Considering the negative history and bad blood between Tim (and really Spiritus overall mostly) and our region, I just had to pop on and toss a vote in.
For folks who don't know, Tim has definitely accomplished a lot for his time on Nationstates, but he's also one of those folks who has never had good words about this region and would easily speak ill of Wintreath if it ever came up in a conversation, and is one of those folks who would be perfectly content if this region was destroyed.
Call it personal if you will, but I'm totally okay voting against someone like that being commended regardless of his accomplishments. And even if he still does get commended, I'll at least be content knowing that I showed that I didn't support someone like that.

I too voted against, though I wasn't aware of that particular history. My thought is that accomplishing a lot doesn't automatically mean that those accomplishments are good or worth praise. As such I eye commendations in general with a great deal of scrutiny.

It's unbelievable how time is flying. I'm glad for the summer to be over, but thinking that we're just a few months from a new year...goodness. Where has the time gone?
It all started when I left Spiritus and eventually founded Wintreath...that was almost 9 years ago to the day, and the history never got any better from there. :P
In fairness, it's going to pass regardless of what our vote is...he is a popular player, and the Security Council often rewards popularity. It is what it is. I just personally don't think it's somebody that we as a region should be helping to sing the praises of, that's all. It's certainly not a favor that would be returned.
