What do you think?

For a second I thought also being a wasp was some kind of proverbial saying, and I was incredibly confused.

It is midnight over here, so I'll write on this more in the morning as I'm just practising french at this point as I had a fairly busy day. Just wanted to comment that I saw it and I'm not ignoring it.

If you got friends interested in this bring them.

First of all, I like the name. However, I have had no responses on that particular name suggestion so we can't rule it out or can't make it official.

Second of all, we can't confirm that the merger is taking place as of yet since I haven't had the responses and information needed. When I do, I am planning on hosting a merger vote that will finalise this merger.

A suggestion of mine:

We create a brand new region with a founder that both regions of ours know, who is active in both regions and that both of our regions know, with our old regions archived. That founder being State of Germany aka The Great French State since he fits with the criteria.

Another suggestion: When we create the region, it should be placed as Nasonia with the longer name being used for the WFE or the RMB etc.

Final Suggestion: We need a cabinet comprised of both members of the ULN and Nasunia just to make things even and not too dominated by either side.

Hey, I'm a friend of spaceanias, decided to join this.

Ah, sorry, forgot to mention this.

Was going to recommend that the longer name only be in the WFE, for the cabinet I do agree in the beginning however as time goes on the split should be dropped.

The only other recommendation I have for a name, is something like Ad Victoriam (the region is currently controlled by a puppet of mine which could easily be refounded.) however I'm fine with either and am mainly putting this forward as an alternative suggestion for anyone interested.

I guess it would be easier in a way to use that region of yours.

I agree that the split should be dropped eventually because by then we would know each other better.

The name is just more so preference, will be best to hear what people think probably.

I was talking with Space about this a few days ago but

I believe that the government should work like this

There should be 2 branches of government, an elected one and an unelected one, the unelected one would work like a council and be split 50/50 between ULNers and Nasuanians, the elected one would work like a unicameral parliament, being elected by the people every 3 months (not sure about this date though).

The parliament would be able to elect a Prime Minister, who would lead the parliament.

The 2 branches would share power, the main powers of the unelected branch would be the ability to veto legislation from the elected branch (however the veto can be overturned with a 2/3rds majority in parliament), they would also be able to take control of the region in emergencies, have control over foreign affairs, and pass their own legislation. The unelected branch should be led by someone that is trusted by both ULNers and Nasuanians.

The elected branch will have the power to pass legislation, and decide who should be the WA Delegate.

The Prime Minister will be able to appoint a cabinet, and place ministers over all positions except the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Would like to hear your opinions on my idea.

What would be the supposed positions that would be in the elected and non-elected branches?

Almerdonia wrote:What would be the supposed positions that would be in the elected and non-elected branches?

I also understand that it is much more different to how it works in Nasunia currently since Nasuania has CTE'd and I just appoint officials who are trustworthy enough to not CTE, betray us and are active, unlike your proposed idea where there are elections etc.

Almerdonia wrote:What would be the supposed positions that would be in the elected and non-elected branches?

In the non-elected, I imagine it as just a council, with the leader being named President

In the elected, the positions would be Members of Parliament, Prime Minister, and Ministers in the PMs cabinet.

Seems good enough.

And, as a side note

I think that the elected portion of the government shouldn't become active until we set up the region, with the unelected council being in total power until then,

By setting up, I mean figuring out a name, roleplay, who would be in this council, and beginning recruitment efforts.

I would recommend the position having a title such as King, with the head being State of Germany

My main concern with this system is the number of positions which would be needed to make it function from the get go, I would reccomend starting out with a very limited amount of elected positions and increasing as time goes on.

Oh, seems like we are in agreement over the elected section then lol.

My proposed system of Government:

We have a council with the Founder, Consul, the WA Delegate (elected) and the President.

The Consul oversees the elections so that it is fair, equal and democratic etc.

The elected cabinet would consist of the Prime Minister, Minister of the Interior, Minister of the Exterior and the Defence Secretary.

Like you said earlier:

I am in total agreement over the elections bit that you mentioned earlier aswell.

This is brilliant

Right. I'm planning on hosting the merger vote on my side on the 14th of January. It's not the confirmed date but its the date I'm hoping to begin the vote.

Continuation of my proposals:

In terms of what abilities they would gain...

Founder- Executive, Appearance, Border Control, Communications, Embassies and Polls
Consul- Appearance, Border Control, Communications and Polls
WA Delegate (elected)- WA, Appearance, Border Control, Communications and Polls
President- Appearance, Border Control, Communications, Embassies and Polls
Prime Minister (elected)- Appearance, Border Control, Communications and Embassies
Minister of the Interior (elected)- Appearance, Communications, Polls and Embassies
Minister of the Exterior (elected)- Appearance, Border Control, Embassies, Polls
Defence Secretary (elected)- Appearance, Border Control, Communications, Polls

The term limits would be every 3 months, with a poll ran by the Consul, which will determine the next PM. Candidates will make themselves known to the Consul before the election date. Incase of a tiebraker, another election will take place 10 days after.

The new PM would then be free to appoint a cabinet of his choosing (it will have to be 50/50 for the first Government but afterwards it may be mixed)

In terms of roleplay, that will be determined by the Founder or whomever he delegates that task to.
That person incharge of the roleplay will create the map (if there is one). It will be upto the founder whether he will have an office or not.

I still think the Foreign Ministry should be under the control of the unelected branch personally,

Also, wouldn't it be best for there to be a 50/50 split in the unelected branch, for fairness in the merger?

That is only my proposal but I understand where you are coming from with the Foreign Ministry thing.

By the time we merge, after the first couple of months, we will fuse into 1 identity with 1 region so we won't need it once we got used to each other.

Yes, but the first months will be very important and decide much about how the region will work, which is why it's important that both sides are equally represented, especially in the first few months.

Would the President be elected or unelected?
