That was back in the 1970's. I was 17 years old then and an ATC Cadet - opportunities like that will never happen again now. I used to do a lot of gliding. Unfortunately I suffered from poor eye-sight so I never pursued a flying career - instead I joined the RAF as an Aircraft Engineer. Name a military aircraft type and I have probably worked on it lol. Before I retired from work my last job was with British Airways as an Aeronautical Engineering Consultant - that's short for contractor haha.

A fellow taildragger!! I took up flying much later than you did — and to make sure I committed the time necessary, I bought the airplane first. It was an Aeronca Sedan, and I had a devil of a time finding an instructor willing to take on an ab initio student in it.

Biggest plane I’ve flown is a Pilatus PC-12, just a few months ago. It was a demo flight. Better payload, longer range, faster speed, high altitude — but sooo thirsty. And I’m not certain I want to invest the time necessary to learn to fly it. It isn’t a career for me, but a means of getting around.

Hello, are not you the one who's been around since the beginning of TNP?

Zazumo wrote:Well Gnite! (Or Gmorning is more accurate). Hopefully Aerilia forgets his password while I'm asleep.

Well I did forget my password, but good thing the phone remembers my password, so I don't have to.

But now I have to pay it weekly payments so it doesn't tell anyone else...

Asthean National News

Royal Self Defense Navy wants to build another carrier

Last week, following the emergency meeting after an attack on a Aircraft Carrier, AMS Emiko, RSDN proposed to the Asthean Department of Defense, Royal Army, and the Royal Sisters to build another Aircraft Carrier as the flagship of the planned 2nd Asthean Royal Fleet, it would be under 300 meters long and would carry 70-90 aircraft, however, there was also another proposal for the carrier, one that it can also carrier small litoral class ships, two that it used for jamming signals

Asthean Self Defense Army Generals have decided to not take the mentioned two, and only approve normal looking aircraft carrier, Royal Sisters have warned them that "if Asthea declare war, where are you going?"

Now, blueprints and designs are being discussed by naval scientists and top engineers
