"Eyes on the streets, comrade. Those heads won't split themselves."
This rather blunt statement was from Felitszhan Voronin, of whom had been sat at a table eating sandwiches for as long as Poplavskyy had been watching Mygrosk's citizens like a hawk. They were both a part of a secret assassination team, called Zmora Team, itself part of the Commissariat of Intelligence - the main intelligence and espionage agency of Puczovska. They had been assigned to the Yakuvonian civil war without any of the Yakuvonians on any side knowing so that they may elude repercussions from Pax Havenica or Yakuvony in the case the Communist/Anarchist side lost and the information was leaked. This not only broke PH guidelines, but could jeopardise relations with Yakuvony. Poplavskyy turns his head to Voronin and chuckles sarcastically.
"I'm sorry, I thought it was supposed to be your turn on the rifle half an hour ago?"
"Absolutely not. You're doing such a good job, so I thought I would let you stay in your element."
"I was in my element five hours ago. If you won't let me have a break, can you at least pass a sandwich?"
Voronin contemplates the prospect of taking over for a second but then considers passing a sandwich to be much easier so passes one to Poplavskyy. They both continue to loiter in this building they broke into waiting for a target to appear. They had been assigned a list of names of Republicans and Tsarists to assassinate along with profiles and pictures of them. Poplavskyy was waiting for one of them to appear in Mygrosk hopefully so he could take them out and set back the rival factions. Both of these men were distinguished Commissariat of Intelligence agents and were partisans to the Puczovskan cause. They had volunteered themselves to this operation out of their strong wills to spread the ideas of the far-left to other nations. This was nothing that would not happen anyway; the way they saw it, the coalition of Democrats, Communists, and Tsarists against the Republic of Yakuvony would never establish a lasting alternative regime, and that as the Republic crumbled further they would turn on one another, continuing the civil war. The least they could do is to make that inevitable collapse of the coalition as easy for the Communists to win as possible.
Poplavskyy sighs and looks back to the deserted streets around them. He gets back to squinting down the scope of his Dragunov and peers blocks away, adjusting the focusing of the lens.
"Hang on..."
Poplavskyy suddenly becomes alert, zooming in on a car that pulled out from a street and was now headed towards the building they are in.
"I think... I think this is Vikhrov."
"Vikhrov?", exclaims Voronin, "The Republican General?"
"Yes, yes I believe it is. You have his file, right? Pass it here, quickly, quickly."
Voronin picks up the files from the table, putting down a half-devoured sandwich, and flicks to Vikhrov's file. Vikhrov is a General working for the Republic of Yakuvony's army and is a major target on their hit list. The profile is handed to Poplavskyy and Voronin crouches next to him with binoculars as they both glance between their lenses and the profile image of the General.
"Pop, this looks just like him. And he's headed in the direction of the General Committee."
Poplavskyy had heard enough. Zmora Team needed results and it is unlikely he'd have another opportunity. He steadied himself and got the scope's cross aligned to the middle of Vikhrov's face.
pew
The Dragunov was silenced so nobody will have heard it. The only sign was Vikhrov's car windscreen suddenly splinter and a red splatter coated the left side of it. Swerving to the left, the car traversed the other lane and ran into a lamppost which abruptly stopped the vehicle with a crunch. Poplavskyy rests the Dragunov down and sighs.
"Job well done."
They leave the building after wiping it of prints. Time to hunt some more counter-revolutionaries.
And all while this song is playing.

Those nations aren't veterans, but simply people with enough curiosity to look for the oldest message still visible here. Before this feature was added, you couldn't see older messages.
And I suggest you remove those mentions, some folks might be annoyed.

I used to fly these https://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/airliners/7/8/8/1530887.jpg?v=v40 the biggest thing I took the controls of in flight was one of these https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/53/British_Airways_Trident_Three_G-AWZA.jpg on a flight between Heathrow and Glasgow and back again. That was back in the 1970's. I was 17 years old then and an ATC Cadet - opportunities like that will never happen again now. I used to do a lot of gliding. Unfortunately I suffered from poor eye-sight so I never pursued a flying career - instead I joined the RAF as an Aircraft Engineer. Name a military aircraft type and I have probably worked on it lol. Before I retired from work my last job was with British Airways as an Aeronautical Engineering Consultant - that's short for contractor haha.
Hi Loh! how are you mate? Long time no see. :)
