Let's just say the people were a bit pissed that the government was taking more and more of their day to day actions and items away and thus some uh... Dissenters began calling for an end to the dictatorship and subsequent execution of the country's leaders.

Within a few months, a democracy had managed to reorganize the fractured country we had, and the leaders of the nation previously were tried and since we had abolished the death penalty apart from very serious crimes, three of our previous leaders were imprisoned indefinitely for the rest of their lives, never to see the light of day again.

The location of these leaders remains kept very secret for security reasoning.
