Harvest Time

Today, with the King in Europe, would be as of any normal day, it's harvest season and thus people are working to get our maize and wheat to store for the winter, or sell to others in the kingdom or our neighbors and allies.

On to the next
With Buga taken Yupanqui continues his advance, leaving behind 100 men to secure the town as well as a supply line from Cali. As the carry on towards Tulua Yupanqui’s scouts return from ahead.

“Speak”

“The Colombians are in Tulua” says one of the riders, “I cannot confirm exact numbers but by the looks of it they have amassed a great defense of the town.”

Yupanqui takes in this information and prepares his response. He calls to his officers with new orders.

“Continue to advance the army, but halt three miles from the first defenses, spread out the infantry and archers and keep the muskets in the center.” Once more the officers take the orders and see them done.

“Runner”. A runner approaches and awaits his orders

“Take this to the second army, we have made contact with the enemy. They have chosen Tulua to make their stand, request to standby for reinforcement if necessary.”

“Right away sir”

The runner takes off on his horse accompanied by several other horsemen.

Yupanqui looks to his army as they begin to position themselves to his orders.

“So this is where we fight Colombian. Very well, the sooner the better to end this war.”

Spoiled Fruit
The King of the Netherlands, William I of Orange-Nassau, as well as Crown Prince William and his brother Frederick have been declared dead following the disappearance of the Bato near the Cape of Good Hope. Dutch succession has been brought into question as the throne now lacks any viable heirs due to the Dutch Throne only allowing for the succession of male heirs to the throne, meaning that the King's only surviving issue, Princess Marianne is not a viable heir to the throne. The House of Orange-Nassau is now deemed to be extinct in the male line. With no obvious successors to the Dutch throne, a Great Council of Dutch nobles, parliamentarians and clergymen (and likely foreign dignitaries *hint* hint*) is to be held in Amsterdam to decide the future of the Dutch throne.

Merciless

The throne's gold glistened. Sitting comfortably on the throne was Emir Ayub Shah Durrani, the throne of the Afghan Empire. Infront of him, his guards, wrestling a peasant, dusty hair, rugged clothes, he was clearly dirt poor. "And why have you brought this peasant to my eyes?" The emir asked sternly.

"He had insulted you infront of everyone, my sir. He-" the guard was cut off, by a loud shout.

"PLEASE! Your majesty, I did not mean it-" The peasant called, interrupted by

"SILENCE!" the guard said, smacking him with the back of a sword.

"...That is enough from him. May Allah have mercy on his soul... now rid of him!" the emir ordered, without hesitation.

"Yes, sir!" the guards saluted, picking up the peasant, and dragging the peasant to outside. "NOO!! PLEASE!!" the peasant cried, but to no avail.

Moments later, the peasants head would be rolling, disconnected from his body and the guard's swords soaked in blood.

Po Industrial 001

Attributions of major industrializations began to reach their limits. Limited use of standard mills through the Po river valley prompted Cantonal governments, specifically the Italian cantons situated in the Po Valley, to return to their options of “advancing industry”. Rumors from Swiss merchants trading with the English colonies and the mainland speak of towering smokestacks that exert black clouds. Dense manufactured goods in the thousands, seen within its ports, surpassing the expected limitations of the British economy. But as it seems, the ever-rumored mass industrial revolutions centered within England, further advancing their economy to newer heights. Innovation centers within Italian Universities, most especially within Milan, have begun to unravel the secrets of the complex systems found inside the revolutionary mechanized, steam engines. Italian Cantonal Governments initiatives have now commenced their slow transition towards industrialization, similar to that of the United Kingdoms. Mass resources, however, will be essential to fuel young minds focused on inventing and redeveloping technologies, as well as granting future works that would suffice in maintaining the Confederation’s growing population. Planners have already conducted urban operations for essential lands towards the building of factories.

Conservative Federation Party

Motto: Tradition is the only way forward.

Founded: March 16, 2021

How To Join: Contact Party Leader or Vice-Party Leader.

Political Position: Right

Ideology: Conservatism

Color: AAA

Executive: 0

Senate: 0

Court: 0

Conservative Federation Party (abbreviation: CFP) is a conservative political party in The Commonwealth Federation TCF. The Conservative Federation Party is the first original party in the The Commonwealth Federation TCF. On the 16th of March 2021 Tusis independently began the party.

Principles

  1. CFP will hold "Party Elections" after each Presidential election, in which the CFP votes for a Party Leader to represent the CFP, and to run for President in the next election.

  2. CFP Party Leader will personally pick his or her Vice-Party Leader, to help with the the party leader's tasks and to be his or her running mate for

  3. TDR drove many of their RP community out and into TCF. This happened since the government was not respecting the RP and its autonomy. The CFP wishes to keep and (if necessary) give more autonomy to TCF's RP and MC server.

  4. The TCF as I'm writing this has only one man that is obligated for making sure the TCF community is upholding the server rules. We wish to change that. A security force will give TCF a more manageable enforcement. This will also allow for others not to have to worry about illegal behavior being missed or unseen, since a task force is watchin over the server.

  5. If an elected official is not doing his or her job or has done something illegal, yet no one in power is willing to remove that official, then the people may remove that figure with the "People's Council." The "People's Council" is meant to stop high corruption and illegal activities in the government. With a 60% or higher vote a government official can be evicted of that office with the only power able to stop that being a Moderator.

  6. The Minecraft Server as writing this doesn't have a category or any roles. Giving the MC Server as much power as the RP server will not just give an easier experience to the MC player, but to give it power to keep it's autonomy in this region.

Reconciliation 001

The state of politics in Europe was meager and unusually peaceful. Amidst the vast landscapes of Northern Europe, peace was surprising as it seems to be everlasting. The Swiss Government Alliance thus maintained utmost neutrality in hopes of maintaining said peace and focused their efforts on economic, inter-political, internal societal developments, and plans for outside expansion. Tensions soon began to reappear in the shape of an aging vacancy on the Dutch throne after the tragic passing of Netherland’s old king, William I of Orange-Nassau, his brother, and his young crown prince, also named William. Rumors tell of their sudden disappearances within the Cape of Good Hope, yet, many of the details were left unsaid. Nevertheless, it was significant news to hear from one of the Confederation’s great friends and allies within such turbulent times.

Noble House of Uri. GCS, Canton of Uri, November 3rd, 1822. 1000

An unexpected letter arrives from one of the great noble houses of Switzerland. Primarily, the houses of Uri, home to the famous great lords of the Meier von Silenen and von Moos families. It has a seal that pegs the official king’s seal… One was never seen before for many, many decades. It was delivered from a man with very formal attire. Tall and maintained great built within his blue coat stretching down towards white pants followed by his large leather boots, pinned together with crafted, gold pins. Another wears a similar fashion but with formal leather shoes strapped together with a single strand instead. Also, standing next to the man holding the letter.

“We’re here to see Lord Vol Shaffen of Meier von Silenen, Miss. It is quite the urgent news…” The first man pleads to the maid serving the noble family.
“Very well.” The maid complies before she runs off inside. She paced herself rather quickly but not in any sort of panic, traversing through the peaceful hallways dotted with busy rooms full of servants, guests, chefs, etc. Careful in her steps to ensure no disturbance with the artifacts placed within the halls nor the valued noble guests that were currently staying. Dark wood walls along with strands of white stones were still lit by traditional wax candles in the glum morning sun, still revealing its beauty inside of its red carpet and renaissance era paintings hanging from the wall. The maid heads quietly into the grandmaster’s room of the current lord of Meier von Silenen, Volschaffen, opening the doors ever so gently to indicate no such disrespect towards her lord.
“My lord.” She says calmly. “Two men bearing the Dutch royal seal provide a letter, also marked by the King’s royal seal…”
The slender man turns to face his maid. Boasting a confident stature and a handsomely built face falling alongside his large shoulders. He was a man amongst men. "Do you have this… letter?" Lord Vol Shaffen says out of great curiosity.
"Yes my lord." She bows, again in a show of respect, extending out her arms to show him the dreaded letter.
"Thank you, Ms. Oldenburg. You may take your leave."
She bows again and returns to her station.
Volschaffen ponders for a while at the letter he was given. "The Dutch Royals? I haven't heard from them directly in years…" He thought to himself. The Dutch had been a miracle for the development of the Confederation in its starting run of seafaring, and an essential trade and international partner within the landscape of Europe for civil development.
"Why now?" He ponders once more. Vol Shaffen calls his maid, ordering her to let the two men inside.
"Of course my lord." She rushes off again.

The two men stand idly by, waiting for the lord of Uri's response. The maid returns to inform them of the invitation from Vol Shaffen himself. They walk alongside the maid at a similar pace, closing in on the dining hall where the lord awaits to be debriefed about the situation.
"My lord." The maid enters, holding the door for the two guests to enter.
"My lord."
"My lord." Both men greeted Vol Shaffen.
"Please sit down gentlemen." He says as he stands up to greet the two men back. They all sit back down, ready to discuss the important matter at hand.
"My apologies for the lack of introduction." The first man who carried the letter speaks. "My name is Luuk Van de Berg. I'm one of the four assigned envoys to deliver a direct message concerning the Dutch Royals, in hopes of maintaining good relations with the Confederation."
"My name is Arend Jansen." The second man introduces himself.
"It is great to meet you, fine gentleman." Von Shaffen smiles, quickly fading away in mere seconds. He speaks again with a hint of despair in his voice. “So. The news from the letter you gave is true?"
"I'm afraid so, Lord Vol Shaffen," Luuk responds.
"As Luuk said earlier. We're here to give you a formal invitation to attend the funeral and the coronation of a new monarch." Arend says. "Other lords and monarchs will attend to this new coronation to maintain peace in the continent."
"Who else will be invited?" Von Shaffen replies bleakly.
"Three noble families, your family, the Meier von Silenen family of Uri, the von Moos family of Uri, and the Reding von Bibberegg family of Schwyz. Notable families who spearheaded the creation of strong ties with the Dutch." Arend states. "We sincerely apologize for the unexpected trouble but we only have little time till the coronation begins my lord. All the other families have been informed, and are currently on their way."
"Mmmm" He grumbles at this inconvenience. But, still, he must attend. "Then we must make haste, gentlemen."

Noble house of Schwyz. GCS, Canton of Schwyz.

Similar circumstances fell on the lord of Schwyz as both Cantons were the forebears of great diplomacy between the Confederacy and the Netherlands. Lord Helderberg of the Reding von Bibberegg family. Last-minute preparations were hastily drawn for the visit of the Dutch Royal's passing and for the new heir to the throne to be found in their rightful place. They pray to establish better relations with the new monarch, in an attempt to further develop both nations into great European powers.

Po Industrial 002

Civil Development Commissaries within Milan progress slowly in developing landscapes suitable for the construction of factories. Universities, not only stationed in Milan but all over the Confederation took to heart this new scheme and have also begun their experiments with designing and building their steam engines. Cantons and cities all across the Confederation flocked to their reserved resources to innovate said engines. Great minds alike, hailing from the French, German, and Italian Cantons, cooperated amongst one another to see their liberal society fully modernize. A similar modern nation comparable to that of the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and her neighbor, the French Empire.

In response to the new wave of industrialization within the GCS, art movements -depicting a variety of potential future technologies- began to flourish. A sort of Proto-Futurism which conveys a more peaceful transition towards a higher potential (without the idiotic denunciation of past knowledge, culture, and history). Nevertheless, an incredible amount of support from the urban populations had taken shape. Others opposed the idea of mass industry, lack of government administration would prove their fears justified of creating dense pollutants that would otherwise destroy the serene environment of Switzerland. The middle ground stood for both sides, supporting industrialization while maintaining strict policies, to protect the natural environment they live in. Social policies regarding the protection of certain cultures were favorable amongst the Cantons, to maintain their distinct cultural heritages mixed in with a bit of Modernization. The revolution had only just begun to take form. New wonders and innovations lie waiting for mankind to reach…

Hawaiian Expansion Part 1: Annexation of Tuvalu, Tokelau, and the Marquesas Islands

Due to POET wishing to dominate the Pacific a "Race for Oceania" has begun. The Hawaiians, using old European ships given to them during the unification wars would be used to subjugate any chieftain that is resistant to Hawaiian rule. The islands due to very little interaction to the outside world, would be using small boats, spears, and bows against early 1800's naval ships and early 1800's guns.

Tuvalu

The islands of Tuvalu were fairly easy to conquer. Most islands had some interactions with Europeans, and have heard of their conquest. This allowed for many chieftains to willingly joining the Kingdom of Hawaii. Some joined willingly for better lives for their people, or being able to have easier trade with it's neighbors. Many of these chieftains would be still be called chieftains and were given the power as a modern duke in a absolute monarchy in Europe. Yet, as always their are many chieftains that wouldn't give up their power for a better life. Once the Hawaiian navy showed up some cowardly chieftains surrendered, while others had to be fought. But due to the modernish weapons that the Hawaiians had, they won every battle, and setting a Hawaiian to govern the land.

Tokelau

The Tokelau islands were harder to conquer due to their isolation. Many didn't know about the Europeans, and didn't trust outsiders like the Hawaiians. Almost every inhabited island gave a fight. But no tribe could defeat modern weapons. The Tokelau islands were given more Hawaiian troops than the Tuvalu islands to make sure Hawaii had control over them. Hawaiians and locals were given positions to govern these islands just like in Tuvalu.

The Marquesas Islands

The Marquesas Islands were the most difficult to conquer. Due to them being the biggest and closest to each other, they formed an anti-collation against Hawaiian expansion. Since Hawaii has a relatively small army, losses were wished to be kept minimal. So the Hawaiian navy secured the Marquesas Island's shores and tried to starve the people of fish and other sea creatures. While there was many pushes to retake the coast from the natives, the Hawaiian army was too advanced for the tribes. (Although while Hawaii is advance for Polynesian tribes, this doesn't mean that the Hawaiian navy is good.) After two weeks of waiting, the Hawaiian army advanced. While the natives tried to use guerrilla tactics. The people were half starved and diseased ridden that they couldn't make an effective win at any battle. Eventually after a long push into the islands by the Hawaiians, the tribes surrendered. Tribe leaders were replaced by Hawaiians or natives, and had the same treatment as the other islands.

The Future of the Islands

The islands after failure rebellions by the populace, were under full control of the Hawaiian crown. The first of a conquest for Polynesia. With POET backing Hawaii, there seems to be little doubt that Hawaii will form a great empire. The only obstacle in the future is Britain.

The Qajar dynasty

Long has the Persian kingdoms held their hand over Afghanistan, but the Afghans have broken free. However, since the Qajar dynasty took power in Persia... they have been assembling to return Afghanistan under the direct rule of Persia. Little did they know, that the Afghans were going to make the first move. A force of soldiers prepared to invade Persia, 10,000 strong, split in two. 5,000 to head into Khorosan, 5,000 to head into Sistan and Baluchestan, all armed with gunpowder and flintlocks. And so, out they went, aiming for the feeling of triumph over the ones that used to hold chains on them, Emir Ayub Shah Durrani came to Kabul and declaring a state of war with Persia to the people.

Invasion of South Khorosan

Birjand, the centre of South Khorosan had been peaceful that morning, but soon, the sounds of a horde come closer and closer to the city. 5,000 cavalrymen riding their horses into battle raid the city, the sounds of flintlocks going off rings in the air, as any military defending the town is taken by quick surprise. The soldiers using the old tactics of Turco-Mongols mixed with modern firearms, the soldiers proudly fighting under the banner of the Afghan Empire. Birjand, as the centre of South Khorosan, would be horrible for the Persians to lose, and would likely cause the fall of the entire South Khorosan province into Afghani hands.

Invasion of Sistan and Baluchestan

The first invasion would be the city of Sistan (known as Zabol in modern day), 3,000 cavalrymen head in the city and raid in the same way Birjand was raided, but the other 2,000 would be on the way to Zahedan, if these two cities fall, there would be little left but towns in these provinces. The plan is to seize the whole provinces as quick as possible and force the surrender of Persia out of these territories or call for the complete surrender of Persia out of the war, landing these provinces in Afghani hands forever and expanding the great Afghan Empire. The Afghan Empire is merciless, and will not give mercy to Persia. Afghanistan must make Persia pay for their imperial ambitions against Afghanistan.

Plans if no Persian surrender

The plan is that the Afghan armies occupy more towns in the provinces and raid and pillage Persian cities to draw them to the surrendering table. If it must be done, the Afghan warriors are ready to raid and pillage Tehran if it is necessary. The Afghan armies are ready to take on whatever measure is necessary to make their great Afghanistan proud.

The Libyan Bedouins - although reluctant at first believe the deals the foreigners have made. Supporting the Egyptians would be a much better alternative than to making deals with haggling pirates - who have been ravaging the country-side for sometime. Perhaps the Egyptians would bring order, and local mayors and village chiefs would rally behind the Egyptian cause.

Scouts and Cartographers that went into the southern reaches of Sudan and beyond that were met with medium success. Storms that ravaged the country-side, along with conflicts with some local tribes caused the furthest southern regions to be hastily charted. Despite this, the scouts and cartographers were able to graph the northern reaches successfully.

Abyssinian diplomats met the Egyptian deals with skepticism. It would take some considerable time for negotiations to continue. As far as Egypt should be concerned - talks have stalled.

With the Bedouins on board, the Egyptian army has concluded its drills and has begun its long and arduous march across the scorching Sahara towards Tobruk. Camels tow cannons, supply wagons, water carts (closed wooden carts carrying large barrels of water. Infantry fashion rudimentary headwear out of any spare cloth or material they have left to hide from the scorching sun. 10,000 men led by Ibrahim Ali took one long and exhausting month, 31 days of marching across the hottest desert in the country to make the 800km distance between the camp in Cairo and the staging post in Siwa. Here, the army would rest and continue to train, preparing for another 400km march across hostile country guided by local Bedouins and an extended siege of the town at the end of it.

In order to take the town as quickly as possible, the army will block the peninsula off by land and slowly begin to encroach on the perimeter, using cannons to breach the old walls to create gaps to storm in and gain access to the supply hub of the harbor.

The Rift Valley
With the return of the expedition into the Great Lakes bringing a mixed bag of results, the northern reaches of the Bugandan kingdom were successfully surveyed and mapped, revealing a relatively hilly area through which the Nile River flows, with several valleys providing access further south. However, attempts to map beyond the valleys were haphazard and rushed, due to the presence of hostile soldiers in the Bugandan army. Upon the return of the maps to the Khedive in Cairo, another expedition was commissioned, this time into the Rift Valley, trying to find a way east to the Indian Ocean without needing to negotiate with the Abyssinians. Time will tell what they will find.

Ahead of the Colombian lines in Tulua, foragers and scouts search ruthlessly for traces of the Incan scouts, seeking to prevent their return to base to maintain the element of surprise. Instead, the Incans escaped into the hilly forests of the region, beyond the sight of the Colombians. To further prepare for the arrival of the Incan army, these scouts were stationed on the thickly forested hillslopes overlooking the main path into Tulua from Buga. At first sight of the main body of the army, the scouts are to start a wildfire, lighting the jungle up and trapping the army in the hill pass. This has the second effect of alerting the main defensive body to the closeness of battle. For now, the Colombians hold their breath in the stillness before battle, waiting for the Incans to make the first move.

The Search for the Seas

Today the Romanian Republic has realized something, something important if it wants any kind of trade and expansion with Western Europe, access to the sea. While Dobrudja and the port of Constanta does give us access to the Black Sea and maritime trade, but for the navy this Sea is more of a giant lake, due to the Dardanelles and the Bosphorus controlled by the Turks. They can simply block us from accessing the Mediterranean and destroy our navy and dominate the seas, that's why we want to have the upper hand expanding into the lands called ''Bulgaria'' and ''Macedonia''. Very few from people these lands are actually like us and are more likely to rebel so we use a tactic named ''Divide and Rule'' we split them into small states and fake their identities, practically seperating and dividing those former united peoples. First the Republic of Tarnavo, then The Eastern Rumelian Federation and finally The Confederation of Outer Macedonia, each with rulers that have different ethnicities to further create the divide. For our new Province the Coastal regions of Macedonia will be directly ours with autonomy to decrease the chances of a revolution. These new nations will be told that they are all different, not Greek, nor Albania, nor Turkish, nor Bulgarian, only their regional identities and their nationality serve a base for their ethnicity and their identity. Of course in our new subjects Romanian settlers will be showing up and an official language alongside the various different languages official in those now civilized nations will be Romanian. If they do collaborate with us they might get their independence but for now they will be firmly under our control.

Invasion of South Khorosan
Although a majority of the defenders in Birjand are killed in the initial assault, a significant number of men are able to blockade themselves in the city's major mosque, from which they plan to fight off the invaders from. A significant Persian force of 7,500 men quickly assemble in the neighbouring provinces to mount an attempt to relieve Birjand and are expected to surround the city before afghan reinforcements arrive.

Invasion of Sistan and Baluchestan
The 2,000 soldiers sent to Zahedan were pleasantly surprised to find the village (i think it only really developed into a city in the mid 20th century), as well as the surrounding villages in the sunni dominated region of Baluchestan to be incredibly supportive of the invasion, with many tribal leaders agreeing to aid the Afghan regiments in their conquest in exchange for relative autonomy under the Afghan Emirate, bolstering their forces by about 200 men. Sistan falls quickly due to an understaffed garrison and it's proximity to the Afghan border. The surrounding territories in Sistan are more difficult to cross through due to the presence of Shia tribes who fear a loss of autonomy, under the Emir. A handful of soldiers are killed as they cross through the territory from ambushes, more a nuisance, slowing down the invaders than an actual threat.

The Persian government has made no indication they are willing to surrender yet.

A Late Arrival.

Mere days after leaving the Canton of Uri and the borders of the Confederation, Von Shaffen still stares out into the vast neverending plains. It is his first time visiting the flat plains of Northern Europe. The beautiful rays of sunshine are seen piercing the damp, gray clouds above, showcasing the French plains and lowlands’ grandiose spectacle. We are only a few kilometers away from the Dutch-Belgian border. Our supplies are still in great shape after resupplying at the town of Longwy, along with our men and horses reenergized for another kilometer-long journey to the heartlands of the Dutch kingdom. Another hour has passed and finally, the luxurious man-made buildings and smoke-stacks were in full view from Von Shaffen. His eyes widen, glistening with admirable respect of his Dutch allies for the magnificent architecture and engineering that showcases their remarkable cities. The dirt road transitioned into well-paved cement that follows to a small village town, also built in the same respect of quality comparable to its counterpart in the city.

Amsterdam, The Dutch Kingdom.

Another day has passed as the carriage had resupplied within the city and had briefly quarreled with security due to the large gathering of royals and lords for the upcoming coronation. In time, security forces  guaranteed an escorted passage to the royal palace. The streets were busy as Dutch citizens with incredibly formal attires lounge through the varied shops and tall, thin houses, all tightly compressed to another thin house after another. Bridges and canals were common all over the capital city. Every design was imprinted with meticulous carvings of symbolic figures, all predating back to the nation’s rich history. The carriage reaches its final destination. Lords from Uri and Schwyz -Von Shaffen of Meier con Silenen, Helderberg of the Reding von Biberegg, and Günter of con Moos- are escorted to the halls of the Royal Palace, opening a path to a significant Dutch history in the making… It is only a matter of time which path the Swiss’ ally chooses.

The Knights and Sardinia

The island of Sardinia has had a rough history in considering who “owns” them… From Rome to Byzantium to Aragon to Spain to Austria and finally to Savoy. A mess of things really as for centuries the island and its people have been passed from one nation to another, not regarding their own success but as a bargaining chip in other nations games. Not anymore though, no not anymore…

In 1793 the Sardinians defeated not one, but two French invasions of the island; these victories would spur on nationalism of the Sardinian people and after the failure of Savoy to recognize their bravery it became clear what the island must do. The following year in 1794 unrest was growing as the people started to see the outside Savoy-Piedmont “leaders” as unfit to rule them which led to the deaths of several high ranking members of the Savoy-Piedmont officials on the island. These small attacks on outsider officials would continue until late 1795 where a full scale revolution would take place, moving into 1796 the revolutionary army of Sardinia grew across the island; however, things looked dark when Savoy-Piedmont and their loyalists looked as if they would soon take action against the revolution. Yet before they could send troops to put an end to the movement the French invaded Italy halting all their plans of suppressing the rebels. Within the year the island of Sardinia laid claims of independence from Savoy which would be somewhat recognized in 1799 when the Savoy royal family was forced to flee to Sardinia to escape the French occupation, in turn for their protection from the French they allowed the island to gain its independence in full…

But this isn't the end of the story as another player was about to enter the field, the Knights Hospitaller of all people. On their island of Malta they have faced a French invasion in 1798 forcing their order to scatter in response; however, in 1800 Maltenes' revolutionaries along with British support freed the island from French occupation and under the treaty of Amiens would see the island returned to the Knights. But the British failed to deliver on their promise of independence, thus becoming the new occupiers of the island, this betrayal of trust and understanding shook the Order’s ground and their sovereignty as a nation. This would seem to be an end of order as a whole as without a place to recognize as their own their order has been scattered to the wind once again, but an opportunity came to hand not very long after the British betrayal. Can you guess who? If you guessed the new Kingdom of Sardinia good job go get yourself a cookie…

The new Kingdom of Sardinia hasn't had the best of luck with defending their newly independent island, sure they have beaten the French from time to time, but it came from another enemy. The Barbary Pirates have taken this opportunity of the chaos of Europe to ramp up their attacks on Christian nations. In 1798 the Muslim pirates attacked the island and made off with hundreds of people who would be sold into slavery, this would be the final straw for Sardinia has they would seek support from other Christian nations on the absolute destruction of this pirate menace; however, with the war ragging on in Europe no major nation had the time nor the patience with one another to come together to end the threat. With that said there weren't many willing to help, but one in particular saw the call and came to arms. The Knights Hosipitaller, even though scattered could manage a sizable force and navy, after some brief talks with the Kingdom of Sardinia they were promised the island would be grateful to host them. With these two unexpected powers coming together the plans would be laid for their war against the Barbary State. From 1800-1803 they gathered their forces, Sardinia from their people and the Knights from recollecting their scattered members and from new volunteers from across Europe. Finally with a sizable military they went out to conduct their own war among the shadows of the European war at the time…

From 1803 to 1808 the five year campaign saw conflict across the Mediterranean and Northern Africa. The war would eventually end in relative success when the cities of Tunis and Tripoli finally fell to the Sardinian/Knights banner, with two of the major ports of the Pirates taken, meaning future attacks in the Mediterranean having been dealt a huge blow. The campaign was considered a resounding success, as the Kingdom of Sardinia was now safe from outside raids and the Knights have once again regained a form of sovereignty. For the next twelve years the cooperation of these two states formed closer ties with one another as both states sought to strengthen themselves and support the other, yet with the years gaining on them who knows what the future may hold...

Blockaded Mosque

After witnessing the men blockade themselves in the Mosque in Birjand, the soldiers muster a plan to raid the Mosque. The battlefield stays silent, but soon, the soldiers in Birjand ram the Mosque's doors, trying to force the Mosque open. Once the Mosque is opened, a slaughter is commanded. Every single person who blockaded themselves in the Mosque is to be slaughtered brutally and without remorse.

Reinforcements

To both fronts, a force of 6,000 from Herat has been dispatched, split into 3,000 for each, to reinforce the forces against the Persians, planned to reach the fronts in no time, considering Herat's close proximity to Persia. These reinforcements are as well armed with gunpowder, flintlocks and cavalry as the others.

Sistan and Baluchestan

After seeing the welcoming of the Balochi people and the Sunni populations, the Afghan armies there have turned their focus to Sunni-majority villages, avoiding Shia villages, hoping to rally the Balochi people to rise up against the Persians and join the Afghan armies. The next target is Pahrah (modern day Iranshahr), another hub with large Balochi population. Though, the armies currently are only making very small attacks on small villages, as they await the reinforcements to arrive.

With knowledge of the Colombians and their location the Yupanqui prepares for an attack, until he notices the jungle has been set alight. While his army is safe from the fire he is sadden by the actions of the Colombians to destroy the land.

"Officers, hear my orders, maintain formations and protect the flanks. Send the bowmen to destroy any Colombians hiding in the jungle, take any who surrender."

"Runner, carry my message to Roca, request reinforcement to Tulua, be wary of any Colombian solders. make your arrival discreet, no prisoners."

Yupanqui thinks to himself.

"Colombian you will die along with this forest"

The Birjand Mosque Massacre courses mass outcry in the city, it was unwise for the Sunni invaders to shed blood so harshly in a place of worship. Although no formal resistance occurs, every morning a few Afghan men are found dead in Birjand's various alleyways. There is great resentment around the local populace, although for now locals are too fearful to spread word of the massacre to the neighbouring villages, although it won't be long until they muster some courage.

The Persian force sent to relieve Birjand will arrive in a couple of days, they intend to besiege the city.

Sistan and Baluchestan
Similar to Zahedan, the Balochis of Pahrah are quick to join forces with the invaders. The Afghan recruitment campaign proves successful with a grand total of 500 additional fighting men joining the Afghan ranks.

Chapter 18 King Svend I of Norway

King Svend was born in the middle of February when Oslo was caught in a snowstorm probably during one of the coldest winters we have known in Oslo, he was the second son of his father, King Kristian of Norway . He had 3 sisters and 2 brothers one of them was destined to be the king of Norway while Svend had to remain remained hidden in his shadow. His brother was called Erik, and one day had to become Erik 4 King of Norway, his second brother was named Harald. The three had the same education with the best teacher possible, Svend always took his education seriously and it is said that he would have spent the first 16 years of his life in the library. Erik was a man of the court, he spent his time with the nobles charming them one after the other (especially the young ladies) he had the art and the way to obtain what he wanted especially from his father who cherished him more than everyone else, Harald had a hard time studying and rarely held in place except for any military lesson. we had three very different brothers, an arrogant, spoiled future king who shone in the nobility and despised the common people, a bookworm who despised the nobility and was charmed by manners and worried of the common people he discovered through his books and another that would only swore by the army.

The time of the Napeleonian war came, King Kristian was a paranoid king who feared more than anything an invasion of Napoleon, despite the assertion of Norwegian neutrality and the difficulty of invading it, he then initiated massive and costly military reform increasing largely the Norwegian fleet and the defense of its military ports, but above all he made a reshuffle of military training, he made them very rough, the soldiers spent their day training in the high mountains to carry heavy loads, and spent hours training. The king decided to send Svend and harald armed him, he despised his two other sons whom he considered as rivals of his adored eldest son, Harald did not protest unlike Svend who wanted to continue studying, but his father forced him through the daily soldier training and Svend forced himself to study on the little bit of free time and sleep he had left. At that time Svend's growth went very quickly, he became extremely tall, at the end of his growth he was 1.92 meters much taller than his brothers, due to his size and his build which he had acquired because of the a harsh Norwegian army, he was nicknamed the giant.

The king was getting old and we were preparing his succession, we had married Erik to a noble coming from a Germanic state, however Erik despite the marriage continued to have affair with other woman, wich caused him certain problems, even if he continued to be appreciated by the vast majority of the nobles and the norwegian court, some voices were raised for the crown to return to Svend, his father could not however let go of this, his paranoia made him think that svend would try of stealing the throne of his adored son, he then decided to have him assassinated, King Kristian was a cruel king who only cared for himself and his son, pouring out his hatred and anger on his other sons and on his woman, who was trying somehow to hide her bruises behind a long dress. The assassination attempt never worked, however, after the first attempt which left him with a scar on his forehead, he became terribly suspicious not trusting anyone anymore, this caution saved his life but will have terrible consequences on his life and his reign. So from his 17 years to 20 years old he juggled between the army (which he continued to do to continue to receive his father's pension) the library and long period where he slipped into the Norwegian mountains to relax and sometimes meet the common people (incognito).

However his brother died suddenly after a fulguring pneumonia, and his father fell ill which made the court and his adviser feared for his future death, so Svend became the inheritance to the chagrin of his father who hated him all the more accusing him of being responsible for after Erik's death, Svend spent the last 2 years of his father's life preparing to become king of Norway. At the beginning, he was not enchanted by these new functions, he was a discreet man who did not like the infinite royal protocol and especially the false pretenses of the court, however over time he ended up saying to himself that this position could allow him to truly change norway, the only person for him who would have exercised a power function in the right way was his grandmother Edwige 1st of Norway, yes he would be the king of the people and not of this nobility he despised so much.

King Kristian died leaving the place to his son who took his rightful place on the throne, he took power while the situation in Scandinavia was very complex since Denmark had invaded southern sweden and war threatened the whole region. one of these first actions was the colonization of the Kola Peninsula, Svalbard as well as the annexation of a region now called the Sapmi. We could say from his early reign that he had been rather remarkable, the economic reform, the construction of mines in the new region and especially a major reform of modernization of the fishing industry allowed a significant economic growth, which like the king wished it was invested in the improvement of the living conditions of the citizens but also in an enlargement of the naval power, there was also the beginning of the immense site of the renovation of Oslo. We could say of the King of Norway that he was an undeniably good man, very attached to his close family, his brother, his sisters and his mother overprotecting them a little sometimes, he was also a frugal man who had greatly reduced the budget granted to the royal family, his only major expense being in the books and the royal orchestra which he had greatly enlarged being a great lover of music. The king was obsessed with the image he sent to the people whom he wanted to show that he was the strong man of norway and the protector of the people while he wanted to appear as an enlightened king in the eyes of the intellectuals of his world that he met frequently met very frequently for several projects. We could say that his dark side was mostly his mistrust, was a king who tried to delegate as little work as possible to his advisers, so he was one of the kings who spent the most time working than I met, however he was also often tired because of that, I don't know how long he will last like that, I was one of the few advisers he seemed to trust. We can also say that he was a relatively poor diplomat at first, his handling of the Danish king's invitation was poor as it led to tension with Denmark. However the real determining trait which will determine all its reign was the alliance with ........ and the war with ....... * to be continued *

Nagurskoye

the Norwegian expedition finally arrived on the island after several weeks of navigation the king was the first to set foot on the largest island of the archipelago in the gray bay, it was incredibly cold and thousands of birds were flying freely in the sky, this is how the king found the name of the archipelago, Fulgland, the land of birds, the king and the team of researcher / architect / worker ... stayed 14 days on the archipelago where they mapped the island (of course they could not mapped everything given the size of the archipelago) they gave names to the islands, the majority of the names from the royal family and noblemen that King Svend respected and of course the name of the members of the expedition and of the fishermen who had seen the island first, the geologist examined the composition of the soil and was positive on the presence of coal, the soil was also covered with basalt, a stone used in construction and also for status. the team had also built some barracks to prepare the arrival of the future colonist who would open a coal mine, the most important colony and which was to be the major port and the administrative center of the islands would be called Nagurskoye and would be founded in the gray bay on the largest known island of the archipelago, they began to install barracks for future settlers. several flags were placed on different islands to assert Norwegian domination. After its 14th day the team returned to Kirkenes while the king returned to Oslo where he was preparing to welcome the new king of the Netherlands Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte.

Sistan and Baluchestan
Similar to Zahedan, the Balochis of Pahrah are quick to join forces with the invaders. The Afghan recruitment campaign proves successful with a grand total of 500 additional fighting men joining the Afghan ranks.

Sistan and Baluchestan

The forces that invaded Sistan and Baluchestan have come to the conclusion that most of the province would be under their influence or their control by now. The force that invaded Sistan and Baluchestan has split into two. One half stays in cities within Sistan and Baluchestan, guarding the occupied cities, pulling out invasions of nearby villages and towns, and holding off any Persian forces. The goal is to get Sistan and Baluchestan's governance to surrender to the Afghan invaders or to get them to join Afghanistan. The other half, is headed for Birjand to relieve the forces struggling there.

Birjand's Holy Fury

The invaders, being largely resented by the locals, and struggling heavily, have to wait out. The commander of the army has given the command to slay any local who tries to lay hands on them or disrupts them. Meanwhile, from Sistan and Baluchestan, reinforcements come in from the South, the reinforcements invading towns, villages and cities on their way to Birjand, same for ones coming from Herat. The Birjand Army must await these reinforcements before they can get back on their feet and go back to invading the rest of the province. (You decide if any of the reinforcements come. The Sistan and Baluchestan would likely not arrive but the Herat ones have been at it for a few now.)

Sistan and Baluchestan
The largely Shia dominated government of Sitan and Baluchestan agrees to formally surrender to Afghanistan, with the territories joining the Emirate of Afghanistan.

Birjand
The Herat forces arrive in Birjand just in time, with the number of attacks on soldiers declining following their arrival as locals began to fear the additional soldiers.

Persian Army
A few days after the arrival of the Herat forces, the Persian army begins their siege of Birjand, hoping to starve out a majority of their fighting force, hoping to make them yield.
