Well, history doesn't always agree with you there. Sometimes otherwise sane people go loco for coco puffs for the strangest small difference in beliefs.

Humans can be unpredictable and people do have a tendency to mix religion and politics. And the Catholic church certainly have promoted political agendas in the past which have lead to wars. I don't think explaining the leaders as insane would explain that, it is more about influence and political gains.

GV does not mix politics and religion, they are different things that should be apart.

As for crusades and inquisitions, are your Gods so weak that you have to fight their battles for them? I certainly don't think that is the case, I think Arken just slap a religious stamp on his political agenda as so many have done in the past to justify his own goals.

And starting a religious war or Ebengars Hinduism would be unwise, we do feel closer to them then Arken religiously and might send volunteers. Also, Ebengar can do that "Khali-ma" thing we seen in Indiana Jones.
