they can just clone more soldiers and grind you down with attrition as well, although they're more likely to succeed with that strategy.

Ceratan scouts would report the situation near the border as "concerning", and local administration would increase threat level to a recognized degree. What the Ceratan government didn't want in Untecna, they certainly didn't want in the Equestrian states. Through an encrypted communication channel, the local force of around 50,000, although measily armed, would offer to disguise themselves as an expeditionary force, putting a battlegroup up to date with equipment standards at the behest of the Untecnans if they so wished, though solely for defense.
