or they will rename the region into "The Region That Has One Big Bank".

Ardeyn congratulations on your appointment. I am Forest's ambassador to your "Petite banks only!" region. We will look for an opportunity to play a game of "Mornington Crescent" with the intent to get to know each other better but I would like to inform beforehand what set of rules you are familiar with to avoid any confusing.

Hello everybody,
For those who do not know, lately due to various reasons (the usual ones) and above all the visit of Nancy Pelosi to taiwan, the PRC (China) has moved many units of armored vehicles on the coasts in front of taiwan, a dejavu of ukraine? what do you think? do you know something more? do any of you live in china (PRC) or taiwan and would like to tell us what he is living right now?
Let's hope nothing bad happens

I leave you the links of some videos where you can see Chinese military vehicles mobilizing:

- on the coasts of the Fujian region (I don't know where exactly), they should be ZBD-05 (type 05) Amphibious Fighting Vehicle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGyXpo0aL3s

- there is also this video but it doesn't seem to be now, instead of a few days ago and they are vehicles sent to the border with hong conk due to past protests, (but im not sure): https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/1648184/Xi-Jinping-China-Taiwan-US-military-drills-war-Nancy-Pelosi-Joe-Biden-latest-news-vn

- video from fujian region, it would seem, I'm not sure: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/FZWikql4s5Y

if anyone knows more or has other video links about this situation I'd like to know it, : )

So the cards collected by “Disgraced” nations are deleted. That’s too bad! They should be recycled into the new card packs for the active players.

The US and its Asian allies should be rushing munitions to Taiwan, especially anti-ship and anti-aircraft missiles. Amphibious and Airborne invaders from the PLA will be difficult to halt without the proper weapons.

So bit of a life update. I've been on ADHD medication for a while now (did some research; it's all just amphetamines, but made in a way that makes them release over time and in a not super addictive way), and as a result, I've been in a very introspective mood for the past few days. Mix of a clear mind and spending some time farming. So unironically touching grass.

But I've been doing a lot of self-reflection, and I've realized I spend too much time being a pretentious ass on here. I've reread a lot of the stuff I've written, and I've decided that I'm going to try to refrain from commenting on everything, because I'm not smart enough to do so. I'm writing this because I feel kinda bad, so apologies to those who've tried to give their thoughts on something and been met by a wall of philosophical ramblings. I'm going to try to do that less. There's some stuff I need to deal with in myself before I do that type of stuff for a matter I'm not knowledgable in.

I'm also going to try to get involved in my local community a bit more. My opinions don't mean anything if I'm just shouting them into the void on some website somewhere, and I need to ground myself a bit more anyways. Idk, I'll go to some town hall meetings and figure it out from there. I think that there's not enough emphasis put on the importance of real-world involvement (especially for environmentalism; eco-conscious people are a silent majority), so I'm going to try to counter that personally, and I'd also like to encourage all of you Forestians (and lovely embassy region visitors) to do the same if you're not already.

I'm glad to see 2 nations (Great Palusia & United Malay Federation) recently share borders with Ardelark. Not to forget our first neighboring country in the Abeshaast basin, Île De Galaria. (I still don't know if the seas and straits were officially named yet).

Welcome as well for the other newly added nations in the map! ^^ + Thank you so much Jutsa for your efforts!

I think it's very human to be embarrassed about yourself from the past - I know I am. We're constantly changing creatures. Our bodies change. Our opinions change. That embarrassment is evidence that you're improving and are able to critically analyze yourself and your behavior - which are admirable traits to have.

Eh, as an opinionated person myself, I'd rather hear opinions I don't agree with than have folk worry that what they have to say isn't worth saying. Keep on ranting, I say.

Canaltia wrote:~ snipsey-snapsey ~

I don't mean to dismiss your self-judgment here, but I have to say at the outset that I don't personally find you to be pretentious or a jackass at all. While I don't agree with every single thing you've ever said, I also can see a lot of echoes of myself from past years in your posts, and I find that you're well spoken and that what you say is thought out well, too. If everyone had the conscientiousness that you do, and felt the need to substantiate what they say with the detail and commitment to a given discussion that you do, the Internet would be a vastly different and better place. I very much believe that "the internet makes smart people smarter and dumb people dumber," and you're part of the first bit.

I'm not saying that you should reject or spurn your new thoughts, by any means! I have also changed considerably in my practically-six full years here. 2016-Ruinenlust laboriously and loquaciously comported and explicated himself with a modus operandi that gratuitously featured an excessive quantity of written effluent and multisyllabic sophistry for its own sake. 2022-Ruinenlust is decidedly more down to Earth. As Heidgaudr points out, people change.

But don't feel bad. I think I can speak for everyone by saying that I'm happy you're here, and that you're you. No worries. :-)

I get what you're saying, and I appreciate the compliments, but I guess my main worry is when I start talking about Kantian moral philosophy, it creates a separation between those who know what the hell that is and those who don't, and it's not really condusive to conversation. Actually, I think that's part of the issue with academia in the current day, where a lot of the ideas expressed there aren't approachable to most people, and as a result, the ideas stay in academia. I've been listening to a lot of debates recently (audio-only, data-light, and engaging, so pretty good to do work to), and a lot of it just comes down to this disconnect. I want to make sure I'm being informative and approachable with my more content-heavy posts, and also make sure I have a good understanding, not just the appearance of it.

Today marks the six-year anniversary (or "sexennium") of Ruinenlust's founding. It was on this date in 2016 that I randomly stumbled on NationStates, and I decided to make this country on the spur of the moment. I forget which of the Pacifics it landed me in, but after an hour or so, I moved to Forest, after deciding between Gay and Forest. And, six full years later, here I am, still. A few puppets have come and gone, along with their forays into other regions, but it always comes back to Ruinenlust, and to Forest.

As I begin the seventh year in this game that has lasted far, far longer than I ever could have imagined at the time, I'd just like to say two things. First, it's been a great time, and it's not because of the multifaceted game mechanics or the world-class (read: nonexistent) quality of my flag-designing skills. It's because of the other people here, and the community that we have here. Second, I just want to reiterate that I'm grateful for everyone here who has supported me, whether by conversation on the RMB, through telegrams, by including me in the government, or more recently, by sustaining my Delegatenessnessness with their WA endorsement. May Forest grow and continue to flourish for many, many years to come. 🌲🌲🌲

Thank you for everything, everyone. It means a lot. :-)

Bewildered and confounding realizations aside, I share a similar sentiment with my time here thus far ^^ Best community I've ever been in and my only regret's that I didn't join here sooner! (Although, having gone through some of my earlier dispatches to nuke them off the face of this planet a while back, that was probably for the better...)

I think most if not all of us are truly glad you're with us, Ru. It's a good thing you'll be stuck with us forever! - What? Oh, right, yes - *ahem* You're definitely not trapped in our squirrel dungeon being forced to write such a heartwarming post. 100% entirely of your own volition.
