This calls for drastic action. They want activity, they get activity. I will immediately spam them with thousands of telegrams, shouting the odds and telling them the weather forecast (not really).

As it happens one of their stipulations for the embassy with them was to have an embassy slot in their forum which I did and one thing I did was put the weather forecast on lol someone said it was much colder where they lived, although I still get notifications from them, admittedly I haven’t visited for a long while

Hello Arctic, I've made a nation of galactic icefishers and thought this would be an appropriate place to be!

Great to see you here Zelant! This is indeed the appropriate place to be!

Flag contest!

Make a flag, upload it wherever and send me the link by telegram on 14th December at latest.

From next weekend we will have a week-long poll vote between the designs (two rounds if there's enough options). To ensure the most unbiased selection, authors of different designs will remain anonymous until we have selected the winner.

There are no strict rules for entries outside of the site requirements (no offensive content) but I encourage everyone to design something that represents the Arctic region. If you have some important statement (e.g. to explain the flag symbolism), then include that in the telegram and I will post it on the RMB when the vote starts.

Taking a look at Arctic over the coming week

The average daytime maximum temperature will be around -18°C, with a high for the week of -14°C expected on the evening of Monday 11th. The average minimum temperature will be -26°C, dipping to its lowest on the evening of Sunday 10th at -33°C. The coming week will have mixed weather with some days dry and some seeing a little snow. Predictions are Tuesday will have the most precipitation with an accumulation of around 3.0mm. On the whole winds are likely to be light.

I'm loving this @@CAPITAL@@gate issue chain I'm dealing with right now. All I have to do is agree with the Max Barry stand-in character's demands of 'transparency', 'ridding this government of corruption' and 'freedom of the press' etc, then everything gets better at a rapid rate! In fact, everything got better just by inviting the Max Barry stand-in to speak with me. The mere invitation caused huge hikes in employment! I guess they needed people to roll out the red carpet for him.

Already have three options, not bad.

If anyone is still finishing up an entry then the contest poll will go up in about 16 hours. If you can send it before that, I'll include it!

Poll is up - take your pick!

If we have one clear winner then that will win. If we have a close three-way split then we can do a second round between the top two. As always, more than one vote per person (puppet voting) is a faux pas, please don't.

Additional explanation on entry 2 by the author: "pretty obvious symbolism - an eight-sided star for the compass rose and way north/Polaris, green ribbons for the Aurora Borealis, sea and icebergs/mountains below a dark day-long night".

Could you publish the links to the flags here on the board for ease of copy pasting it's impossible to do that from the poll unless you type it out long hand?

Fair enough. I'm mainly a desktop user so didn't even think of that.

Langrick, Polarea, and Zelant

Flag contest done. Looks like a landslide win for the second entry, so no need for another round of votes. Congratulations to the designer of our new regional flag: Polarea!

Also a special thank you for The Ice Bears and Norse Inuit Union for the other two entries! As well as to everyone who voted.

Good to see a flag designed by an active member/nation

New flag looks great, good job everyone!

So like any year in the Arctic but with a new flag. (⌐■_■)

Merry Christmas to everyone!

For Arctic in the coming week the average daytime maximum temperature will be around -24°C, with a high for the week of -16°C expected on the morning of Thursday 11th. The average minimum temperature will be -30°C, dipping to its lowest on the morning of Tuesday 9th at -33°C. The week will remain predominantly dry. On the whole winds are likely to be light.

Wow Maas, I chanced upon the change to your tax rate! You must have enacted some truly based legislation!

I undid "AI personhood" as a policy.

It was an interesting path to go down. If you allow it once then further issues about your new AI citizens start to pop up occasionally - e.g. one about an AI copying itself a million times and how fair it is that each copy is a new citizen with voting rights and all. Fun little thought excercises like that.

But these days I'm switching the nation from a tech+science orientation to a more culture+environment one. (Partially since I worked in a startup for a while and didn't enjoy it much.)

Thanks, that's interesting. (I'm not in the habit of using 'based', I must have been tired)!

Now 10000 Islands closed our embassy I still get e-mails from their forum, I tried every way I can to click the unsubscribe link to no avail so have resorted to trying to block it or consign it to spam.
