| President Macron | "And please, call me Emmanuel. I'm sure you've seen all the headlines that say France kicked the Sudanese out of Chad, but Chad has a reigning government now that is making something for itself and actually manages to unite the people. Chad has long been France's partner and is equal in every aspect just like all of our partners. Its not about wielding influence or having hegemony over former colonial protectorates. We are there to help those previously neglected states flourish and make sure they are provided the proper security that they cannot always afford. The Chadian government requested that the illegal Sudanese forces leave Oustani and Chad altogether which was their sovereign right to do so. Sudan refused, so France acted where Chadian forces could not afford to act. Although I will say this my friend. If I had not ordered those troops to occupy Oustani and push the Sudanese out when I did, those Chadian fighter jets would have done far more than just harass the evacuating Sudanese troops. War was most certainly avoided....at least for the time being. This was never something I wanted to happen though as Sudan and France have had a rather close relationship in recent years with billions of euros in investments and French businesses as well as schools being established in Sudan. I can only hope Sudan will come to it's senses on the issue and we can look forward to continued cooperation and prosperity."
