"It's the top of the 9th Inning here at the Ion Center, score is 5-4 with 2 outs, Ed Danforth at the plate with runners at the corners, count is 3-2. What do you think, Charlie?"
"Well, Ed is a power hitter and he loves a 3-2 count, a real hitters count, I'm sure he's looking for something he can drive into the corner and tie this game up. He's not had much success at the plate so far, striking out twice and hitting a double play ball, so I'm sure he's looking for some redemption here."
"Quite so, Charlie, but you also need to consider he's got Desmond Richards on first and Desmond has real legs on the bases, if Danforth gets a double here Desmond may well come all the way home and give the Kings the lead."
"Quite right, Garrett. And now here come the pitch and Danforth drives it to left! Going back and ITS GONE! A THREE RUN HOME RUN IN THE NINTH THE GIVE THE KINGS THE LEAD! Wow, what an amazing way to get a first hit for the season, a three run blast to left to give your team the lead!"
The Kings would go on to win the game 5-7, sending out Miroslav Coorta who pitched a one-two-three out inning to earn his first save of the Season. Billy Valentine, the Starting Pitcher for the Kings, pitched 7 innings and gave up 5 runs. Rick Gertzman pitched two innings out of the bullpen, giving up one hit and earning the win.

Following a disappointing week in the inaugural Thalassian Baseball League, the Cat City Clawzz have released a statement. Head coach Mark Fisher, speaking to a crowd of reporters commented on the team's efforts to repair their standings.

The sounds of static can be heard coming from a small transistor radio on the counter of a 50s era malt shop. It's a sunny afternoon in New Benson, the capital city of Mizeri, and the Glittersoc Malt Shop is packed. Amidst the noise of the crowded shake bar, someone demands sports radio and is answered with general cries of agreement. The waitress sighs before finally agreeing and turning the dial.
"... and thanks for tuning in to WREKT, your local sports radio and talk station. As always, delivering you the latest, greatest, and not so great sports news and Mizeri sports updates. Speaking of not so great, Mizeri Pretty Girls' Manager Olivia Gordon expressed her disappointment in the baseball team's inaugural series of the 2020 season against the Time da B's.
'It's not ideal, you know, coming out of the gates with a losing record. I believe there was a lot of information gathered over the series, which is vital, and we will be utilizing said information to better plan the next few outings and hope to come out successful. It's clear that there are some early issues with taking advantage of scoring opportunities, and a few hiccups to work out in the bullpen.'
Mizeri Pretty girls are 1-3 on the season, not quite the start they were looking for."

After opening the season with two losses, Head Coach Robey Marquette had a strong message for the press:
“The first thing we’re doing is not panicking. The Barons have two losses and I don’t think they are panicking, a lot can change in a week in this league.”
But in two games the Highwaymen clocked up just four total runs, with Eder Adam accounting for two of the four. Fans have already started calling for more firepower to take some of the pressure off Adam.
“We are looking at this things scientifically, trying to identify the specifics of what has held us back in those two games. That’s how we adjust. And that is how we explain and understand the important things that for one reason or another, didn’t fall into place this week”
Asked if the Highwaymen are looking outside their building for solutions, Marquette was reluctant to look in that direction:
”Look, that would be a great magic bullet for me as a coach. Make a splash in the trade market and fix all our problems. But I wouldn’t be doing my job if I were advocating for that as a solution. We have a good group and it’s our job as coaches to mould them into a winning unit.”
