we just modified the human genome to completely boost the repair functions of the human body as well as expand it. to me personally as a individual. death is a by product, a blind side in the steps of Evolution. because after birthing age. what does it matter to evolution? The purpose of life scientifically to live long enough to replicate. Plus it wouldn’t make sense to live past the time you can birth, thus why nearly every animal dies.

we took the functions of the human body that ensure repair and perfected it to maintain itself no matter what. that includes spinal, brain and nerve cells which don’t normally repair in typical humans. with these modifications the zarbikians just keep on living. its body doing what it should as long as it gets proper food and water like organisms should.

"immorality? oh we genetically ensured that some time ago"

Lmfao, that's an awful typo. But anyways, the reason why the Church hasn't done anything like this before is because it's extremely apprehensive of humans simply never dying. After all, being in charge of such a massive population has quite a bit of cons, and death is the best balance to this.

Therefore, the sole purpose of immortality, within the Church at least, is to keep its clerics alive for as long as possible until suitable replacements arise to take their place.

firstly, shush.

also that does make sense in the point of view of the church

a side thought. do you have any RP reasons to the creek having such a large population. think about it. Limited underground space that’s hard to expand. Limited access to foods. dark and unwelcoming to those wishing to have children.

as well as the numerous conflicts that would make such a large population less probable

Corsei: "Guess what? You daddy just killed Xatem"
(If you don't like this we can void it.)

As of 2022 IRL, North Africa has around 256 million people. And this is on the surface, where the overwhelming majority of the region is uninhabitable due to the Sahara. The Underground has many layers, and zero wasted space, so I can imagine 13.7 billion people not being too far-fetched all things considered.
