still haven't answered my second question. also, part of the designation is a culture thing, Iceland is European, because its culture is, while the culture of Greenland is more similar to the native american peoples in northern Canada. the indigenous culture of Hawaii is oceanic, so that played a role in the classification. if we're going by what your logic is, Alaska is in Asia because some of the Aleutian islands are closer to Siberia than Alaska

Hitler's rise to power was facilitated by individuals like Kurt von Schleicher and then Franz von Papen. Another German nationalist party could've been supported by them and that could've led to another issue entirely as again, they could've been smarter than Hitler and not gone after unrealistic targets. Or perhaps Germany may not have fallen to fascism but could've come under the leadership of the KPD without a stronger fascist movement like that centred around Hitler. A KPD world might not result in a 2nd World War (still has a possibility as neither France nor Britain will be happy, and a conflict with Poland might occur over Soviet meddling in eastern Poland, but the war would more than certainly go very badly for the western allies since this would mean war with the USSR and Germany) but it might make Japan even worse than in OTL, as Japan wouldn't be held back by an alliance with Germany and the US would still be in isolation as a war in Europe would not happen. The USSR would never have a reason to declare on Japan either, given that they only did because of the Yalta and Potsdam conferences as Japan supported Germany.

History becomes difficult to speculate at a certain point, and you really don't know what might happen as history is a series of events holding a series of events together and so on. Either way, more or less people might die, but certain things might not exist/might exist in this timeline. Perhaps with a socialist Germany, the USSR could accelerate industrialization with German aid and become even more powerful than it was in real life, especially as there would be no marauding Nazis to destroy a large portion of the USSR's western industries. The eastern bloc may not even exist in that version of the Cold War, as Germany would never have occupied Czechoslovakia, Austria, or Poland (although Poland would probably not be happy with dual socialist powers surrounding them, and could possibly pursue the between seas project to counter the threat).

There are so many potential paths for history to take that these speculations are just a few out of thousands of paths.
