Taledonia, they're essentially picture files. You need the software (Space Engine) to edit planets, moons etc... I just forgot how to transfer files from my computer to an online site.

If it's just pictures, make a free account on something like Photobucket and upload them there. Then you get links that you can embed on NS to have the picture show up.

Well, that depends on the time of the year, because the planet possess a very eliptic orbit, with four seasons: Fire Summer, Storm Autumn, Ice Winter and Thaw Spring - on Fire Summer, the planet's temperature can easily reach 76 degrees Celsius, quickly drying plants and the merest spark causes imense forest fires that can be seen on orbit; Storm Autumn is when the planet begins to cool, and all the water vapor that had evaporated during Fire Summer begins to fall torrentially to the point of causing literal deluges and continent-sized storms; Ice Winter is when the temperature becomes so low that first the rains become snow, then peebles of ice, and the nights become longer and longer, until the Longest Night, where the sun is just the brightest star amidst others at noon; Thaw Spring is when the frozen water begins to liquefy and the planet becomes warmer (becoming also the time of the year where the crops are planted and greenery grows, un til Fire Summer comes and the process repeats).

Sorry, I forgot the features:

Well, it is a planet 5x the size of Earth, with plenty of volcanic activity, but much of it happens bellow the ocean, allowing the rise and fall of islands from the dephts of the ocean (yes, a super-ocean) with the only stable area of land the mountanious super-continent of Rodina, that covers 1/3 of the planet, where volcanic activity is much milder and greatly used for mining and energy production, and roughly at the center of Rodina, lies Mamayev, the "Mother Mountain", the highest peak of the planet.

Sorry Autochthonia, but judging from your description, such a planet is not likely to exist. A terrestrial world 5 times the size of the Earth (I'm assuming when you mention 'size' you mean radius/diameter) is more or less, the size of Neptune or Uranus. As a result, it would possess a crushing gravity. Such a world would either by a super oceanic planet with oceans several hundreds of kilometers deep (or more) and possessing an extremely dense thick atmosphere or a gas giant planet similar to Jupiter. Quite simply, it's all a matter of mass. Your world is more like something out of a fantasy sci-fi setting like WH 40k or possibly Star Wars. The weather patterns and vulcanism of your planet (largely due to it's high eccentricity) is far more plausible however. Stick with the believable and go from there.

The Space Engine software is based on current hard science and current scientific data.

Update; Okay, I started up a photobucket account. So far, so good! Now all I need to do is figure out how place files on it.

Sacrifice children to the god Baal. Once done, you will be prompted to drag and drop your files for upload.

Well, if is based on that, how about 3,5x Earth gravity?

I know what you are thinking: what this guy is trying to do, space dwarves?

Yep, but more close to the original "nordic" description.

Let me explain: in nordic mythology, there are two races of elves - the "Light Elves" and the "Dark Elves". The Light Elves had been imagined (and with the help of the modern interpretation of Tolkien) as "fairy-like" Humans who live in the forests and beautiful natural places, while the "Dark Elves" were supposed to live under the earth, and were recognized as master metallurgists and engineers.

In the Middle Ages, there was of course, mining, and in the conditions of the time, the best mine workers were smaller in stature then the populational medium (so much so that children were in fact preferential workers for mines and other subterranean activities) and with that, the image of the modern "dwarf" got stuck.

BUT... It is understood by modern translations of the nordic sagas that the "Dark Elves" were in the end not too far apart from their "Light" kin, only indicated to be "more malicious" but also "industrious and crafty, ingenious and inventive with metals and stones".

With this, I can see a Drow from D&D, but more "beefier" then the basic elf, thanks for the mining and forging all day long.

Hear is what my thread OP might look like - at least for now. If anyone has any further ideas, let me know.

Home World Creation – For PMT/ FT nations only

This is a service I am providing for the Nation States PMT/FT community at large.

I will be using a software package called “Space Engine”. This software allows individuals to edit celestial bodies in any given system and use a screenshot function to photograph it. Note, this software is based on hard scientific principles, and not high ‘science fantasy’ settings. Bear this in mind, before making a decision to apply. You can describe your home world to me in at least some detail and I will try to create something as close to your description as possible. Such details can include various surface features and terrain as well as colour. Bear in mind, a certain amount of ‘artistic license’ will likely be the case on my part. I will however, do my best to be accurate. Perhaps in time, this process can be extended to an entire star system.

Note, that the term ‘homeworld’ is, in this case, a rather generalized term. A homeworld can also include asteroid belts or moons. It can also include any world that is not by definition habitable.

To reiterate, Space Engine is based on current hard science and current astronomical data. That means no terrestrial worlds the size of Neptune or Jupiter, or worlds shaped like discs and so on. Such is within the realm of “Science Fantasy” universes like WH 40K or, to a lesser extent, Star Wars. In other words, keep it ‘down to earth’ so to speak.

I thought astronomers had found terrestrial planets that large. Is it because the gravity is unrealistic?

Also, I'm new here.

Greetings from Netraucora! We are conducting a diplomatic survey with our allied regions on pie. Please honour us with your esteemed choice on our humble report. Good weekend and peace to all!

Mmm... Pie...

Zombies

I missed it as usual, but somehow got top 1% for survivors and also top 1% for most dead or something so, hey, thats the inexorable march of population for you.

Hello all. Just a friendly reminder from Netraucora to our allies that this week we are taking a international census on who will win the Election 2020: The pink weasel🐿️ or the orange sloth🐻? We don't know if it'll be like this historic win but we hope it won't end in this. Peace and good week to all!

Vulcan primus

Hello fellow Milky Wayians, the people of Vulcan (not Star Trek) are glad to be represented.

40k Vulcan? God of smithies Vulcan? Large repeating gun Vulcan? I must know!

Thank you for opening an embassy with Lyrali!

In celebration of this event, we have set up a banquet in our embassy! We have steak, mashed potatoes, lamb chops, baked potatoes, chicken, fried potatoes, turkey, bacon, sausages, carrots, peas, pudding, ketchup, gravy, and, of course, apples and bananas! And also peppermints.

We hope this will be the start of a prosperous and harmonious alliance between our two regions, and we'd love to learn more about this region!

Great Turf Wars

There were already Turf Wars dating back to 2,000 years before the current setting, perhaps either as a competitive sport or a method to settle conflicts. The first recorded Turf War occurred during a period in Inkling history with many similarities to Ancient Egypt, roughly 2,000 years before the events of Splatoon began. However, as these Turf Wars of nineteen centuries later involved the Inklings and Octarians (instead of just teams of four Inklings), it has expanded into a bigger campaign, great enough to become a historical event.

Before the Great Turf Wars, the Inklings and Octarians had "amicable relations", until the rising sea levels caused them to lash out against each other in a power struggle over the remaining land.

As time progressed, the Octarians separated themselves from the other species of the Mollusc Era. They became dissatisfied with the amount of available dry land and waged war on the Inklings, the other dominant species at the time, to gain total control of the turf.

The Octarians constructed a variety of large machines known as the Great Octoweapons and began attacking Inkling cities.

The first battles of the Great War ended in victory for the Octarian forces. The diligent Octarians easily dominated the Inklings, who were unable to wake up early enough in the morning to defend themselves.(The Inklings have long led a hedonistic style of life).

Heralded by loud explosions, the Great Octoweapons quickly stormed the Inklings' central stronghold. Victory for the Octarians seemed all but certain, but due to a plug being carelessly pulled from its socket, their hopes were dashed. Lady Luck shone down on the Inklings, and the Inklings' victory over the Octarians was most likely due to their superior number of limbs. The Inklings secured a victory in the war and forced the Octarians to retreat to underground lairs such as Octo Valley, which were constructed from the ruins of the subterranean cities built by the remnants of humanity.

The Inkling faction had a fighting force known as the Squidbeak Splatoon led by Cap'n Cuttlefish, which fought against the Octarians during the war..

ok i'm back, my computer had a mental breakdown so i had to re login

Did you assess its dreams in a Jungian manner to determine the cause of this breakdown?
