Alright lemme catch you up to speed.

There is currently no large scale armed conflict, mainly flare-ups and rioting in Datura between the Magnolian Trade Company (Revolussia's colonial arm) and the Daturians.

The situation in MY land is a manipulated election which will result in Revolussia's current government being taken over by the URWP after some events which I will RP out soon (United Revolussian Workers Party)

Death of a beloved leader

Today the GGAE announces the death of Hans Von Wilhelm the brother of Fritz Von Wilhelm. The nation mourns his death as he was one of the greatest political genius using politics as a chessboard and he brought the GGAE economy out of trouble several times in his life. He also found the Kaiser Wilhelm society which was a scientific group that leads research in the GGAE.

Kaiser Fritz II took the podium trying to speak but nothing came out as he didnot know what to say but he eventually found the words. "To the people of the GGAE as of today Prince Hans Von Wilhelm has died of natural causes today. He was beloved by the nation and he was one of the last of an era although we mourn him we must remember him and remember his legacy for he is the last men of the Royal family from that time." After that Fritz II went back to the palace to mourn his great uncles death.

IC, the Re-Election of Ayita Usdiawinita

(This was technically supposed to happen in April OOCly, but I was busy, so my bad. So… this would have been about a week ago ICly. Again, sorry.)

There was a small crowd in front of the same office building from years ago, where Gawonii announced his victory. Unlike the estattic and cheering crowd of before, this smaller crowd was much more apathetic and calm, possibly only being there just so they could tell who even got elected. The stand was raised, and a familiar face walked onto it - or at least something close to familiar. It was Ayita, the former President of Unatseliis. She appeared much older than her previous self, with hair showing signs of greying and wrinkling - though not so much that she appeared elderly. She had, for lack of a better term, been voluntold to run for president due to her being both sane, experienced, and far less corrupt compared to the other campaigners. It was obvious to most that she didn’t want to be there. However, she then took a deep breath and composed herself.

“Citizens, Brothers, Sisters… I have recently been elected for my second term as President of Unatseliis. It was not a close election.” She put her hand on her face and let out a sigh.

“I can see it in your faces. You don’t care for politics anymore. You just want to know that you and your children won’t get shot like they were less than a year ago.” She let go of her head and laid her hand on the podium. “Look, we all make mistakes. Our last President had his heart in the right place, and he did win the war for us… but I get it. You don’t care about “democracy” anymore. The era of political anticipation, participation, and dedication, at least temporarily, is over. The Great Experiment has failed to defend its own people from invasion, and now you are all tired.” She choked up slightly before returning to a much more assertive demeanor. “I lost my own to that damn war. My brother, Atohi - God bless his soul, died at Galegi. They didn’t even find the full body, just a dog tag… so, I understand why you’re frustrated, why you are all exhausted…” She looked at the flag of Unatseliis before looking back at the crowd. “I cannot promise you peace, no President can. But, I can promise you this. I will do everything in my power to make sure that no foreign army lands on Unatseliis again. I will do everything in my power to make sure the fallen can rest easily knowing that they had not laid down their lives to protect their loved ones and nation just for some foreign power to invade once again in less than a decade. I will… hopefully, see you when I am inaugurated.”

The crowd was apparently satisfied. They did not clap, they did not boo. There was just a mixture of smiling and nodding amongst some of the crowd before they walked away. However, one man stayed. It took her a minute to recognize who he was, but she realized that he was the ‘O’ hand gesture boy from years ago. He had grown since then. At first she was happy to see him, waving at him. He waved back before giving her the ‘O’ hand gesture once more. Before she could say anything, he ran off once more into the city.

Ayita slumped a bit as she walked off the podium. She began walking before someone grabbed her by the shoulder. She nearly jumped before turning back to see Gawonii. Her shock turned into relief as she saw the familiar face.

“You scared me, Gawonii.”

“Sorry for scaring you.” There was an awkward silence before Gawonii spoke up. “Listen, I’m still technically president, so I got to go do something, so I will make this quick. It’s going to be a tough job rebuilding this country, so I just have one last request for you. Rekindle pride in this nation, pride in democracy. Not in the nationalistic ‘we must die for the nation’ sense, I want you to make people love this country again.”

“I mean, I want to as well, but why are you so adamant about this?” Ayita interjected.

“Because unity is what we need in these trying times. If you manage to get our people to work together as a nation… well, we might not be able to bring back the dead - but we will rebuild their homes to a scale they could never even imagine.” He said the latter part almost tearing up. Ayita took it as him remembering what he had done.

Ayita was about to say something, but paused before simply nodding. “Have a good day, President.”

“You two, President-Elect.”

The two began to walk off in opposite directions: Ayita to her home and Gawonii to his. Ayita had the urge to turn back to Gawonii and tell him everything was going to be alright. But she didn’t want to interfere in his life for any longer. She only had about a week left before she’d be officially inaugurated, and she was going to spend her last week free of so much responsibility with those she cared about. She looked at the flag one last time.

“I promise I will do my best to protect and serve you again, old friend.” She said, a slight smile growing on her face. Only time will tell if she’s right in that regard.

The President, in order to send her condolences, decided to send this simple message to the Kaiser of GGAE.

    To whom it may concern,

Unatseliis would like to send its condolences to the loss of Sir Hans Von Wilhelm. It is such a shame to lose such a great man. May he rest in peace, and may the Wilhelm family find solace that Providence1 shall care for him in the afterlife.

    From, President Ayita Usdiawinita.

    Personal Note: Sorry.

1 "Providence" is the closest translation of a Unatseliis word for any god, including the Christian one or pagan ones.

OOC: I'm back. Hi. Sorry I was gone for so long.

RP POST -

A windy day rolls over the hills and mountains of Revolussia. In a remote location, far ways from Revolus, lies a farm growing wheat and corn and a boy with his kite. The boy's name was Tobata Kriwal, he was 17 years old. His clothes folded and waved like a flag on a flagpole, it was optimal setting for some kite flying.

He got curious, and decided to strap on his army man doll onto the bottom of the kite. He tossed it, and it crashed to the ground. After running into the house for a bigger kite, he did the same experiment again, but this time it flew. This seemingly useless experiment made him realize a desire he never thought of before: he wished that he could be that doll, soaring above the majestic Revolussian countryside. He rushed to his brother inside the farmhouse.

"Hey! Mitagari!" he shouted, rushing through the wooden house and bursting into his brothers room.

"What is it this time?!" Mitagari yelled, he was clearly annoyed at his usual antics.

"C'mere, I have an idea."

After dragging him out to the dirt patch in front of his house, he pointed to his kite. "I want to fly on a kite." Mitagari bursted out laughing, but after realizing he was serious about his proclamation, he talked through his laughter, "You-you can't be so serious? You're too heavy for it!"

"I know, Mita, that's why I want to build a bigger kite. The smaller kite, when I attached the doll, it crashed right? But when I did it with your kite, the big one-"

"You took my kite, Tobata?"

"Yes, yes, just let me explain. I used yours and tied the doll onto it and it flew. Watch."

He performed the same experiment, first using the smaller kite, then the larger kite. His brother no longer watched in skepticism, but instead with interest and intrigue. He looked back at Tobata, and agreed to help him.

"Right, do we have fresh paper in the shed?"

"Yeah, we also have the spruce wood from last weeks logging trip. We can use that as supports, and the paper for the body and wings!"

"Get on that."

They started to construct a bigger version of his brothers kite, a box kite, easily reaching 1 and a half stories tall. The process was tedious, the large kite collapsed a couple of times, but eventually they had a stable version.

"I don't think this will work..." Mitagari said, looking at the design.

"Well, it's worth a shot. Get a horse, tie a rope from the kite to the horse's saddle, and send the horse off with you on it."

After following his orders, they were ready for their first test flight. Tobata took a seat on the kite, which was fitted with a small wooden box connected to each support spanning across the kite to sit in. "Are you ready?" Mitagari yelled back. "Sure am!" Tobata replied. Mitagari then kicked the sides of the horse, who took off with a cloud of dust behind him. Faster and faster they went on that dirt road, with Tobata scraping along behind the horse. Eventually, though, the large kite broke apart. The kite's paper wings were to go first, before the wooden structure it resided on folded and collapsed. Mitagari yanked on the horse, stopping it in it's tracks. Tobata, after stopping, stood up and dusted himself off.

"Well, that didn't work." Tobata stated, seeing the ball of paper and wood that laid before him. "'Course it didn't, that thing had no support whatsoever!" Mitagari replied.

"You know what's funny, though? You know how when you drag your hand under water with the palm facing outward, it's hard to move it, but when you put your hand with the palm facing at the side depending on the direction you move it, it's easier because there isn't much resistance? Well, funny thing is, it felt like that with the air, too. Air's kind of like water, or something." Tobata explained.

"That... that is rather interesting actually. Maybe the box design is preventing it from taking off because of these panels right here." Tobata pointed to the kite, but realized it was collapsed, so he demonstrated with his hands what the problem might of been.

"Well, if that design didn't work, then what will?"

Then, a hawk flew over the field they stood in, with it's wing spanning the longest they could go. Seeing this animal majestically soar through the wind gave them an idea. They'd have to build it like a hawk.

After discussing what they'd do, they went back into the house and grabbed their rolling chalkboard and brought it out to the barn house, which used to hold livestock before being used as a general storage place. They brought two stools for them to sit on, then Tobata started to draw up plans for the next one. It featured 3 sets of thin, yet sturdy spruce wings stacked on each other, connected with wooden supports and crossbeams. It also featured a tail-wing, which would possibly help with elevation, just like a bird. The tail-wing looked like the same structure as a box kite, although this time it was out of woods. The main wing and the tail wing was connected with a wooden body, where the occupant would be able to sit in. The main body also connected the 2nd wing, with one wing on top and one wing below, along with bicycle tires to act as wheels for the kite whenever it was on the ground.

These plans were solid, with a wooden structure there was no way the kite, now dubbed "Plane," could possibly tear up before it hit the skies. After 9 tedious hours of constructing the plane, they finally rolled it out to the same straight dirt road they took the first iteration to. They got the same horse, tied it to the horse, and performed the same routine again.

Mitagari kicked the horse's sides, and the horse ran. Tobata looked to the sides, the wheels were actually working! Faster and faster they went, before a small elevation change in the road allowed for the plane to glide a whopping 4 meters (about 16 feet) off the ground Tobata laughed in disbelief, their plane actually could fly! But, now it was a matter of how to get the plane higher, and not rely on a horse for it's movement. While he thought of solutions, the horse tripped over and fell, causing the rope to unravel and send the plane flying on it's own. It managed to stay in the air for 10 seconds before performing a crash landing on the wheat fields to the right of him. The plane, thanks to the wheels, suffered little damage this time, and was fully recoverable.

"Did you see that?!" Tobata screamed in delight to Mitagari. Mitagari, who was also in shock and delight, yelled back "Yeah! I did! We have to show this off somehow! But where?"

"Isn't there some kind of international fair in the works?"

"You're absolutely right, maybe we can talk to the Revolussian booth holders and ask to present our contraption there!"

"Great idea, Mitagari. We have to improve on the plans before we do though, find out how we can get higher and no longer rely on the horse for liftoff, that sort of thing."

After attaching the plane back onto the horse, they walked the horse back to the front of the house, went into the barn, and started to improve their design. This... thing... they made... it was unlike any contraption ever built beforehand. This was destined to change the future forever.

(Newspaper from The Revolussian Inquirer, May 10th, 1895)

Today, a government-sponsored business by the name of the International World's Fair Committee, has announced their first ever International World's Fair for June 10th, 1896! (OOC: June 10th, next month IRL)

The committee has proclaimed "This fair has the expressed intention to bring the nations of the world, with such different cultures and traditions, to come together in a large exposition; to show off not only their culture, but innovative works made from their industry, scientific advancements, or even small inventions or contraptions. We aim to be the neutral ground the world needs, a space to where nations don't have to fight for the world to focus on them. This World's Fair is open to all nations, no matter their status, no matter their size, no matter how far, all they need to do is exist and pay for their spot."

They go on to state that all regional leaders have been notified of this existence, and will await their response.

Today the GGAE would like to announce the first wireless telegram know as a radio and it can transfer a message from one side of the GGAE to the other with no wire needed as transmits messages through radio waves. The radio has started to replace the telegram in the GGAE and it will be available for the international markets on the day the world fair begins. This has marked a new era of communication for the world and this is only the beginning. Another major invention has helped many day civilians and doctors known as the X-ray with this new invention doctors are now able to take a closer look at broken bones and possibly cancer which is a growing problem in the GGAE due to unhealthy habits like smoking ,but with this invention doctors might be able to see when cancer is forming in parts of the body ,but further research and development needs to be done to better improve the machine. The last major invention in the GGAE is the motorcycle which has many military theorist thinking that this could replace horses in Calvary units in the GGAE ,but many just see it as another transport unit either way it will be available for international markets on the day the world fair begins.
