Alright...
No it is true I live in Bogotá Colombia
Oh, okay.
For me, the answer to the question, "Are we alone?"
The reason why I believed the answer to that question is the most surprising because:
1. The sheer vastness of the universe is mind-boggling that finding out we are utterly alone in this vastness is madness.
2. Finding out the existence of other species on our level of intelligence is surprising and lunacy as to why, after all this time, with the evidence of our universe is such vast that our mind still questioning whether there is life exist out there. "Of course there exist life, why are we still thinking and question about it?"
That is why, Humanity is a beautiful and terrifying species full of contradictions.
Yeah, the Fermi Paradox. "Where is everybody?" as Enrico Fermi asked.
You can spend a lot of time thinking and researching about it.

Are all of you serious?
Oh, Sorry
Okay, sorry I´m new here
Indeed. It always makes me think that when we finally found the answer to this question, the answer will be quite surprising. I mean, the universe is incredibly large. It is so vast that it is impossible that the is not a single life outside of Earth. Yet, when we finally realised that there is life, it will be a surprise to the scientific community because of this Paradox, in which why we put out these theories of either there is life or not out there, "there is life, duh" that kind of thinking you know.
But the opposite also true, if for millions of years (if our species survives that long) we search the cosmos and yet not found a single planet in which even microbes exist, thus answering the "life only exist on Earth" part of the Paradox, how surprising and madness it will be since the universe is so large and vast that not a single life exist outside of our planet at all.
Scary right?
