umm this is a liberal region...

if you aren't liberal that what are you doing here?

Liberals aren't leftists

Nice wee place and Calirdels

It's possible to be socially left and economically left as well.

Melenavenia, Elenaraghaenaris, and Calirdels

Liberals are neither

Calirdels

Don't really care for trolls tbh. If you want a neo-leftist/hard communist region, there's lots of those. Refugia isn't that.

I'm doing virtual today, tomorrow, Wednesday, with in-school wearing a mask (>:( Which I hate) Thursday and Friday, so...The Hybrid Modle with having to wear a mask. And now I'm done for today.🤪

The meaning of "liberal" depends of where you live : In USA it often means "progressist" which include political liberalism with things like free speech while in Europe it would mean economic liberalism

Melenavenia, Elenaraghaenaris, and Flohovistan

Speaking of free speech: I just got the policy "public protest" (which is weird because it was always legal) and as a result my political freedom and civil rights gained 4 points allowing my nation to become a "Civil Rights Lovefest", which was my objective all along !
That's great !

That sounds like a nightmare. BC has full distance learning for the foreseeable future, which is a definite upside to a reasonable (provincial) government. Also I'm sorry you're having such a hard time with the masks, are you able to use different types of masks instead? I have one that doesn't have to hook over my ears, and I like it.

Yeah, I think our regional aim is a collective of people who are on the left socially speaking, no matter their economic ideas. We can have our personal preferences and thoughts on economics (mine are probably pretty obvious) and the ethics of certain practices, but there's never a reason to ridicule or be short with someone who means well.

Btw I live in Florida, USA. I think it would be safe to assume that you all know how it was there between mid-June to mid-August. Even though the case numbers are a big improvement from what they were at their peak with 15,299 news cases of COVID-19 reported on July 12th and 253 COVID-19 deaths reported on July 30th the state is still having over 1.5K cases per day at least reported and has the second highest per capita infections per 100 thousand in the USA. The last part is a bit skewed however as other states in New England probably are higher than that but they didn't have the testing resources to keep up back in the early stages of the pandemic.

After all that happened in the state with refrigerated trucks being filled with bodies in Miami I find it really pisses me off to see people not taking this seriously--and there is plenty of that at my school. Sure, they require everyone to wear face masks but there's people taking them off in classrooms and during lunch everyone takes them off to eat and there isn't anything to separate the students from each other.

God... My school is 100% online, and I can't imagine how other places aren't doing it. Massachusetts USA, my home state is doing really well, and it's kinda sad that other states aren't practicing the level of care that we are.

If it interests anyone, I've compiled a list of Refugia's World Assembly positions in a dispatch.
The list includes all the voting power that we've had since we were founded. If you'd like to add to the voting power, make sure you join the World Assembly and endorse Sylh Alanor

This dispatch may destroy your brain if you're on mobile. So, sorry for that, tables really only work on PC.

I’m at a pretty similar spot. I believe if you can increase your economic freedom from there, you’ll become anarchy (my goal of course)

no. We can't use face shields, or anything else, just these masks that have to go over your face and are very hot.☹️😷🥵🥵 Made by law from Mike Dewine.

A lot of kids and even some teachers are taking off their masks while speaking. My WHAP teacher is using the excuse that he already got it and that he's technically 6ft away from the rest of the class. My parents won't let me go to online class instead. :( I'm high risk.

To my knowledge, face shields are proven to not work for covid, since they don't actually form a seal against you and just hover in front of your face. The reason I asked about cloth masks in particular is that they tend to breathe better and are either as effective, or very slightly less effective, as the standard surgical masks. I think having a mask mandate in school is extremely wise on the part of your governor though, and I'm happy that you're not being put in danger.

I'm so sorry, that's absolutely terrible and frightening. Is there someone you can complain to? Someone health-educated who will understand that you're higher risk and can help to explain to your parents why being in this environment is bad?
