No matter, Oh Great Founder!
With your forbearance a new welcome message was created.

The Region of Save Our Planet welcomes the new embassy with NationStatesHolics Anonymous!
It is an honor to establish diplomatic relations with you.
Your nations are always welcome to post on our RMB concerning any issues that affect our Earth.
Please let any of your fellow regions with the Eco-Friendly Tag know about us.

Hello Molch. I am fine. Not much has changed in my life. NationStatesHolics Anonymous is still here.

Masks and 1.5 metres, but otherwise are people enjoying the summer ???

Where I am, it is basically always summer.
But I'd say I had some great days lately, even though I have a bit of a Nationstates relapse currently... But I guess it will be fine and will go back to inactivity soon.

Having most things delivered to my door is not too bad. NationStates is still here to occupy my time.

You must be in an equatorial region! I miss my time in those locations...

I guess I will miss it too. But for now I wish to settle back to cool temperate zone. Wishing alone doesn't seem to work though..

You stayed in different places all over the world for job reasons? (We might have had that conversation already...).

Yes, Oh Great Founder, my job took me to every continent except Antarctica. But the true Equatorial locations were Congo (Brazzaville), and Indonesia. Although, I did get hot at times in both China and the Middle East...

How about you?

I'm pretty stationary. A few years ago, I moved once from home close to the Equator for a job, which I like and I still have today even if I didn't plan to stay that long (and did not expect to be funded that long). I pretty much haven't been to any other country if it wasn't for a holiday.

Btw,
It was actually when I moved to the foreign country that I started with NationStates again after not thinking about it for more than ten years.

I saw my home country's system from a new perspective. And somehow both countries (home and current working place) are very different and not perfect but also not totally wrong just have a totally different history and context. What works for one country would not work in the other. So I founded new NationStates nations to develop them with these things in mind. I didn't plan to do anything else than answering issues.

I like equatorial areas. The consistent length of days and temperatures are very enjoyable, to say nothing of the enchanting people...

Now I ended up founding ~10 new nations and ~4 regions ...

Needless to say, my nations and regions are greatly reduced since the disappearance of Unindicted conspirator and all his puppets.

How does it / did it feel?

Disheartening at first. But being addicted, I started over with a handful of nations and only two regions. I was disappointed that none of my former residents chose to join the new regions. Now I have to make more serious recruiting efforts.

You weren’t tempted to take the opportunity to get out?

I find it surprising that none of the former residents wanted to join. I understand the disappointment. At the same time I personally also often lose interest in a region once it gets refounded. Strangely, I haven't fully explored why. Maybe it also tells us something about loyality and "friendship" in NationStates?

Pictou wrote:You weren’t tempted to take the opportunity to get out?

Very good question.

I recently wanted to log into one of my nations and then realized that it got deleted by the mods. No big loss at all, it was just a "test" nation and was removed with good reason which I understood later. But since this never happened to me before, there was this moment when I thought "Damn, ALL my nations are gone".

I was shocked and embarrassed but there was also that thought "Hey, it was decided for you, now you can call NationStates finally a piece of history" and that wasn't such a bad feeling after all. I'd still gave it 50% chance that I would restart if all my nations were gone. But probably I would change my style ie. not founding any regions and keep much less nations. At least for the start...

Addiction is difficult to overcome...

Not even considering for a second?

I was in the process of creating a new puppet when the penalty hit all the existing nations. So, I never really stopped playing.

I see. I hope things develop according to your wishes.

Molch: Hey, it was decided for you, now you can call NationStates finally a piece of history.

The ideal solution, though I’m at peace with NationStates again at the moment.

Do you remember that nation at the very beginning of this region... It suicided by spamming and insulting in a gay themed region. Surely that is not the just way to break with NationStates...

Anyway, I'm actually also at peace with NS itself. I'm just not totally at peace with the fact that I am here. Bu we know that it isn't the game that is to blame, as we surely established earlier. If I wasn't here, I likely would be elsewhere, just not where I actually should spend my free time.
