FECAUFI announces port investment projects in Infiny

MOMBASA — Overreliance on the Suez Canal for shipping has exposed the world's key vulnerabilities, particularly after the Ever Given drifting incident has resulted in unprecedented ship logjams, delays, and forced many to transit through alternative routes, such as the Cape of Good Hope. Additionally, the canal's control by another sovereign alliance - and an ICC member - poses a potential geopolitical risk to the AU's shipping prospects.

Consequently, the FECAUFI consortium has announced plans to boost investments into Infinian ports as a means to better support an alternative shipping route to the Cape of Good Hope and serve as safe harbour for AU-flagged vessels in the event of another incident such as this which would reduce the viability of the Suez Canal. However, the intensive capital requirements for such projects has led FECAUFI to expand its footprint, with the consortium (formerly comprised of Lotte Corporation, Samsung Engineering, Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, LG Chem, the Far Eastern Oil Company, the State Construction Engineering Corporation, and the National Nuclear Corporation) now welcoming the participation of the State Shipbuilding Corporation, Hanjin, Hyundai Steel, and the Woori Bank. Altogether, the enterprises are expected to dole out $6 billion USD to support its investment activities in Infiny.

6 ports will receive lofty investments under FECAUFI, including the Mogadishu International Port, Port of Massawa, Kilindini Harbour, Port of Dar es Salaam, Port of Zanzibar, and the Port of Doraleh. Part of the investment includes a new transportation reform initiative, wherein local transportation union officials, port authorities, and FECAUFI will discuss how to optimize the loading of breakbulk goods to ensure faster turnaround, ensure transparency and accountability in port management, and gauge local requirements on equipment and funding. Each of the ports will also see the construction of three new berths, each of which can support vessels up to 120,000 DWT. Coastal dredging will be performed to ensure that the capacity of the new berths remains solid, and the new berths will be ready in 4 years.

Another investment by FECAUFI includes a $400 million USD injection into the Lamu Port, a new international seaport that is planned to have 32 berths and a dredged entrance channel to accommodate ships of 120,000 DWT. As of October 2019, its first berth has been completed with help from the Far Eastern Communications Construction Company (FEC3); FECAUFI's monetary assistance and its deployment of 300 technical advisors is expected to help complete two more 120,000 DWT berths within the next 3 years. FECAUFI also plans to increase the Port of Doraleh's oil storage capacity from 370,000 cubic meters to 400,000 cubic meters, as well as the distribution of equipment to detect nuclear and radioactive materials to all 6 ports.

FECAUFI is also planning to implement a "smart warehouse" plan in the Port of Dar es Salaam, which would permit the Port's warehouse facilities to adapt to changing situations with minimal human intervention. The Dar es Salaam smart warehouse will be able to house more materials and transport them at a quicker rate due to improved efficiency. Workplace safety is also set to increase, as the need for staff to operate heavy equipment is reduced. That is not to say that layoffs will occur, but that local port staff will be able to be complemented with other hi-tech technologies to better perform their jobs. Some of these technologies include an IoT-based warehouse management system that can respond quickly to orders and prioritise, a warehouse inventory system that can inform workers of necessary handling procedures, inventory levels, and temperature conditions autonomously, active RFID tags for the tracking of containers, and automated people movers to quickly transport port workers from one area to the next. Upon completion after 2 years, this smart warehouse will be 5 times more efficient than a traditional warehouse due to faster turnaround times, and will be capable of handling an additional 15% goods capacity.

Didi announces IPO in Eulumia

SINGAPURA — The FEUSSR's top ride-hailing firm Didi Chuxing has made a listing in the Singapura Stock Exchange, after considering a listing in the NYSE and RAKEX.

The company is expected to be valued at more than $60 billion USD, with the company eyeing a valuation of at least $100 billion USD later on. It has picked Singapura for its more predictable and open market policy, as well as a larger pool of capital that would add to the strong momentum of AU inflows and investments to the company. The company will also coincide its Singapura IPO with its entry into Eulumia, first offering services in Singapura, Kuala Lumpur, and Penang before expanding to other parts of the country. At present, Didi's businesses involves travel, delivery, delivery, payments, and other sectors, along with other hi-tech projects which have seen use in various cities across the FEUSSR. The company has also provided millions of flexible job opportunities for people, including a considerable number of women, laid-off workers and veteran soldiers - so much so that 40% of DiDi's employees are women.

Didi has made plans to provide its cloud- and AI-powered "Smart Transportation Brain" to city governments in both Eulumia and Vashnal, helping local groups to develop smart traffic lights and optimize traffic management systems to mitigate traffic congestion. Its systems have seen use in various cities across the FEUSSR, and include components such as traffic management systems, smart traffic lights, smart traffic screens, and reversible lanes.

Hellinikon S.A.

We are proud to announce that The Hellinikon Project has come to a completion.

At 6,200,000 sqm Hellinikon is a point of destination in Athens, The Hellenic League, and Europe abroad. The Metropolitan Park in Hellinikon is rivaling Westminster’s Hyde Park and New York City’s Central Park in not only size, but functionality and beauty. At 2,000,569 sqm it now served as a core connection for greater Attica to the sea. A core element is not just the park itself and greenery, but a restored 3.5km coastal area and a 1km free public beach.

The Hellinikon Project also breathes into life a new modern and innovative outlook on urban life in The Hellenic League. the creation of 50 km of pedestrian and bicycle paths; significant marine works to upgrade the coastal front; the creation of a 1 km long public beach; and the redesign of public transportation networks, including the partial undergrounding of Poseidonos Avenue.

Each level of the Indochinese education system will now teach or offer Chinese alongside English. Students in KG1 to KG3 will learn both languages, while children between P1 and M6 will be able to choose which language they learn. Previously, it was mandatory for students in Indochina to learn Indochinese, English, and a local language of their choice. Now, they will be required to learn Indochinese, either Chinese or English, and a local language of their choice. This was put forth by Chairman Khan I after ties with the Asian Union, specifically Duma and Far eastern union of soviet republics, have strengthened under Chairman Mailam I and Khan I, himself. Students in university may also choose which language they wish to learn throughout their higher education, however, business majors will be required to learn both English and Chinese. Since Indochina does not have the necessary amount of teachers to teach Chinese, the Bureau of Education is set on hiring teachers from Duma and the FEUSSR that are willing to teach in Indochina.

Ministry of War
A statement

The Ministry of War and the Hellenic Air Force can confirm for news outlets that Basileus Dimitrios Atredai operated a HAS-10 multirole fighter yesterday evening.

Basileus Atredai flew a combat mission east of Konya in the Mehmed Republic targeting Ottoman ground units moving supplies and also Leopard Tanks. He flew alongside 4 other HAS-10 pilots that also engaged ground targets.

This morning Basileus Atredai flew another mission, engaging additional targets in the same area. We can report that he had to break off of another attack run as 3 F-16 Ottoman jets attempted to engage the HAS-10’s, and fired upon Basileus Atredai’s HAS-10. He was not hit, engaged the threat, and neutralized the threats alongside the other HAS-10 units. He flew back to base safely.

Basileus Atredai is an experienced fighter pilot who helped fly HAS-10 prototypes, has piloted F-16’s and also served in the North Bulgarian Conflict piloting the F-16. Additionally he has flown on one space mission, the Druzhba-1 space mission and is actively training for a future Moon mission.

The city of Isthmia has been sued by Korina Manoti & Flora Mika. Korina and Flora had been seeking a marriage license and went to the court for the issuance of one. The clerk and the court denied the license to the couple, despite the nationwide referendum being in favor of same-sex marriage.

“Isthmia is plain wrong on denying this couple a completely legal marriage license. Same-sex marriage was declared legal by the people, and here we are still debating this. We will win this case” lawyers for the couple said.

The court case will go to the local court in Corinth one month for the opening arguments.

Corinth Daily Journal
Manoti & Mika V. Isthmia

The case has moved up to the Attica Appellate Court as Manoti & Mika pursued an appeal after the court in Corinth ruled in favor of Isthmia on the grounds that while a league wide referendum was held in support of same-sex marriage, it was not seen as binding to all members of the Hellenic League and faces question if it is indeed an applicable law.

“Of course it’s an applicable law. We voted on it and a majority had been in favor. These courts and the people of this country need to realize that equal rights is for everyone, as everyone is equal under the eyes of the law” the legal team for Mika said.

This appeal is scheduled to occur in the next several weeks.

MOE: FEUSSR to sponsor education programme in Vashnal

HAIPHONG — The Ministry of Education has made plans to improve Vashnal's education infrastructure, following remarks from Esteemed Chairman Khan I's plan to permit the use of Chinese as a language for education.

The Ministry of Education (MOE) has set forward a plan to deploy an annual cohort of 800 student teachers as part of their practicum segment of pre-service education program. The 600 will be qualified to teach in both mediums of instruction used by Vashnal's educational institutes, in addition to various specialty subjects from their previous academic degrees. Said student teachers will work under the supervision of the local educational authorities for a 50% duration of their pre-service education programs. Furthermore, the MOE has said it would subsidise the studies of 400 local high school graduates as part of a comprehensive training program for prospective teachers; these graduates will be enrolled at various normal universities across the country for the complete duration of their degree, before they will then be repatriated to their homeland to serve their communities there.

Additionally, the MOE will provide free and ongoing higher (college and graduate level) education for low-income adults who have yet to attain any form of tertiary education in Vashnal via the use scholarships and bursaries, cumulatively valued at $50 million USP. The MOE program is means-tested and will only be able to fund 1,900 local adults per annum, although the MOE has said it wishes to extend its reach to 50,000 each year to nations such as Duma, Infiny, and Eulumia.

First urban projects announced in Panama City

Since the end of Operation Just Cause II and the inclusion of the city and surrounding regions into the greater part of New Columbia, Panama City has seen a marked increase in standard of living, with new law enforcement policies combating the ever-present drug trade to cleaner streets and faster service. But one thing remains a constant and that is improvements to the city's infrastructure. With investments coming from both the rest of the Union and the Hellenic Republic, Panama City is experiencing a building boom so to speak. Here are just some of the many projects that are now being conducted in Panama City, which many hope to turn into the crown jewel and grand experiment of the New American Dream.

Fourth Bridge over the Panama Canal

Roughan & O’Donovan, a firm based out of Dublin, Ireland but with offices in New York and other major cities in the Union has put forward a design for a planned fourth bridge over the Canal. The 3km long, cable-stayed bridge is designed to connect west New Columbia with Panama city, increase traffic and freight transport capacity and improve vessel navigability through the canal. It has a main span of 540m and a clearance of some 80m over the navigation channel of the canal. It features two inverted Y-shaped towers, three lanes of 3.65 meters in each direction for transit vehicles and two monorail lanes dedicated to a metro line service.

Pacific Side Cruise Terminal

The cruise terminal in Panama City on the Pacific coast will be completed by mid-2022. Until now, cruise ships could only dock on the Caribbean side of Panama (city of Colon). Now thousands of cruise tourists will be able to arrive or depart directly from Panama City. This will promote tourism in New Columbia, which is still in its very early stages, and increase the low hotel occupancy rate in the city.

Congress Centre

Planned as a replacement for the aging Atlapa Convention Centre built in 1980, the new Congress Centre will feature the latest advancements and an increase in occupancy over the Atlapa Centre, which can only host 600 people. Representing an investment of roughly $194m, the Amador centre spans more than 81,000 sq metres and consists of four main areas: a 24,000-sq-metre exhibition centre, a 24,000-sq-metre banquet hall and restaurant area, a 14,000-sq-metre theatre and outdoor exhibitions spanning roughly 13,000 sq metres, all of which are connected by a central plaza. Work is expected to be completed by 2023.

Terminal 2 of Tocumen International Airport

Long overdue for the city and business in general is a new terminal at Tocumen International Airport. The airport is the busiest airport in Central America and is currently working well beyond its capacity limits and urgently needs the new terminal. With over 80 direct connections, Panama City flies directly to far more destinations than any other airport in Central and South America. Work on the new terminal is expected to be completed by the end of the year to early next year and cost 780 million.

Metro Line Expanison

Though the Panama City Metro is planned to extend to 10 lines, plus a branch line to the Tocumen airport and ITSE, by 2040 or 2035.[37] The first five lines will be metro lines, with the last three as tram lines, a metrocable-like system for San Miguelito and a monorail line for the planned city of Panama Pacifico, in Panama Oeste, Line 2 will run for 29 km from Parque Urraca, in the Punta Pacifica district to Felipillo and will be built in three phases. The first phase will run from San Miguelito to Nuevo Tocumen, The second phase (Line 2A) will then extend this line from San Miguelito to either Parque Urraca or Punta Pacifica located in the south part of Panama City. It will be almost completely underground. Line 2A will only measure 9 kilometers in length, but building a metro line underground costs three times as much as building it as an elevated metro line, so Line 2A could cost as much as Line 2. The final phase will extend the line by one station, from Nuevo Tocumen to Felipillo. Line 3 is planned to have 14 stations and will run from Albrook station to Arraiján, Nuevo Chorrillo to the terminus in Ciudad del Futuro. The total length will be 26.7km. Line 3 will be built in 2 phases, with the second phase having its terminus in La Chorrera. The final two metro lines, Line 4 and Line 5, will run from Pedregal - Via Israel and Costa Del Este to Obarrio, respectively.

The remaining lines will be tram lines. Line 6 will run from Albrook to Ciudad de la Salud. Line 7 will be oriented toward tourists and will run through the Casco Antiguo district and line 8 from Don Bosco to Villa Zaita.

Line 9 will be a monorail that will run through the planned city of Panama Pacifico and connect with line 3, and the remaining line will be a metrocable-like system that will run through the district of San Miguelito. As the largest and long-term project, the expansion will cost several billion dollars or more.

The PDFGF has announced a plan to dramatically increase its UAV inventory for the next 2 fiscal years, from a current arsenal of 90+ drones to the scale of several thousands.

600 new UCAVs will join the PDFGF's unmanned aerial fleet, with 200 being of the CAIG Wing Loong I (GJ-1) variant while the remaining 400 will be of the CAIG Wing Loong II (GJ-2) variant. The GJ-2 will formulate the backbone of the PDFGF's drone fleet in the coming years, due to its ability to field a diverse range of weaponry, from laser-guided air-to-surface missiles and guided bombs, to rockets and anti-tank missiles. With an endurance of 32 hours, it will dramatically increase the PDFGF's operating capabilities in faraway lands, while its cheap price of $2 million USD compared to other competitors such as the MQ-9 Reaper (which go for around $30 million) will permit the PDF to field much more drone systems of equivalent ability at a far lower cost. The PDFGF has disbursed $1 billion USD towards the acquisitions of the 600 UCAV platforms.

The PDFGF will facilitate the integration of all UAVs within its inventory with the DL2020 datalink, permitting for secure, jam-resistant, high-speed digital communications with individual UAVs. Additionally, units on the ground, sea, and air will be more capable of transmitting orders and data to and from UAV platforms upon integration, which will give the PDF a much-needed advantage when combat is actualised.

The PDFGF has also made a roadmap for the acquisition of more UAVs to diversify its forces. It will invest a further $156,000,000 USD on the acquisition of the following UAVs for delivery over the next 4 years:

  • 3,000 AVIC Sky Eye reconnaissance/targeting UAVs: launched from an artillery or rocket round, it has an independent power system that allows it to search for targets via an onboard camera and illuminate said targets with an inbuilt laser upon identification. The UAV would continue to illuminate the target until the target is destroyed. After the target is destroyed, the drone would either search for the next target and repeat the process again, or it will self-destruct.

  • 4,000 CH-901 loitering munitions: a suicide drone that can be fitted with either an explosive warhead or a camera to fulfil various purposes. Its warhead can be configured as a fragmentation charge or a shaped charge, and it can penetrate through 10 cm of armour to attack MBTs and other armored vehicles. It can detect targets at a range of more than 1.5 km from an altitude of 450 m, and it can be rapidly fielded in less than 3 minutes.

  • 4 HAIG GJ-11: a stealth UCAV aimed at sneaking deep into enemy territory and launching strikes on key or vulnerable targets.

Eastern Record / Восточный рекорд / Шығыс рекорды

Novosibirsk - Premier Valeri Stepanovich told reporters at the country's first cabinet press conference that includes formerly "unlicensed" media groups that the next step in liberalisation would be implemented over the coming six months. This will involve the introduction of market forces into the energy supply sector, except within the autonomous soviets, where the government will be entering talks with local leaders. By the end of 2021 at the latest, the country will have at least some of its supply coming directly from market forces.

The Premier informed the public that this monumental step away from total government control of the sector will help cut down government expenditure, improve the reliability of the grid, and assist in helping Transuralia "go green." When asked to elaborate on this last point, the Premier directed the question to Minister of Finance Igor Andreeff who said that the government would be able to penalise the use of coal in domestic electricity generation in favour of "nuclear and wind" through a system of carbon taxes.

This move comes after repeated meetings with advisors from Romanovskaya, following the Vice Premier's meeting with Romanovan Prime Minister Daria Shchegolyayeva. Amongst conclusions reached by government and Romanovan experts, it was agreed that the electrical grid itself should remain under government jurisdiction but the actual production of energy should be liberalised and open to market entities for participation.

The current state body responsible for all energy production, West Siberian Energy Company (Западно-Сибирская энергетическая компания), will be reformed into the National Energy Company (Национальная энергетическая компания), which will maintain the grid itself and slowly sell off to or introduce private entities in the area of energy production, except in the Autonomous Soviets where it will maintain its current operations. The new body will also incorporate the formerly independent Novosibirsk Power (Новосибирск Электроэнергетика), which provided for the grid and power acquisition in the Novosibirsk metropolitan area.

The entire project should save the government several billion dollars a year and create new employment opportunities for university graduates in the areas of electrical engineering and physics. Business experts have informed the Ministry of Education that collaboration with colleges, particularly the Novosibirsk Technological University and the State University of Yekaterinburg, is already in discussion.

Bureau of Culture / สำนักวัฒนธรรม / 文化局

A recent study from the Bureau of Culture found that citizens of Indochina that live closer to the Indochina-Duma border are now focusing more on their original Chinese names that were "taken away" from them under Chairman Ruang Sak I. Under Chairman Ruang Sak I, citizens were mandated to register with the Confederation of Indochinese States and had their names changed if it was a foreign name. With the recent move to strengthen ties with the Chinese nations under Chairman Khan I, citizens in eastern Indochina have now started to use their old names in "everyday" talk. Their names remain Indochinese when it comes to official and legal matters, but they have asked Chairman Khan I too reconsider the mandate and the rules on usage of legal names and official names.

Statement by Chairman Khan I / คำแถลงของประธานข่านคนแรก / 汗主席首先致辞

After the recent calls for the change to the law for legal and official names of citizens, Chairman Khan I has released a statement on the matter. The statement is as follows:

    "The reason Chinese is going to be taught in Indochina is only because it opens business opportunities for our students in both lower and higher education. There is no other reason for Chinese to be taught in Indochina. If we allow the ethnic Chinese people in Indochina to have their original names, then we have to allow everyone else to have their original names. This would threaten the unity of the Confederation and that just cannot happen. Many people in the Confederation do not have Chinese ancestry so it doesn't make sense to start moving heavily towards China to start adopting their naming system either.

    The closest ties Indochina has to any other nation would be the nation of Eulumia. We're going to make sure that we can keep those ties closer than any other as they have been our allies for the longest time, even before the Asian Union. Any move towards strengthening ties between either Chinese nation is merely business, or something that has to do with the Asian Union. My main goal is to allow Indochina to grow in any way possible without threatening the unity we have.

    Any person that has an issue with this can speak to their nearest Confederation Trooper about the situation. I can guarantee that they'll agree with me on this situation and see people that act against the unity of the Confederation in any way as traitors to the unity of the Confederation. This isn't a threat, just a reminder of our laws that are in place."

Once again, Confederation Troopers are looking for the leader of the terrorist group. They will also continue to follow every lead and arrest those who are part of the terrorist group. Even though they may not have had a direct hand in the death of Chairman Mailam I, they will still be charged for the death of the late Chairman.

Indochina News / ข่าวอินโดจีน / 印度支那新闻

People have been arrested in Nakhonruang for protesting against the actions of the Confederation Troopers and Chairman Khan I for the apparent misuse of power. They claim that the Chairman along with the Troopers are going after innocent people that have no ties whatsoever to the supposed terrorist organization that claimed the life of the previous Chairman of the Confederation, Mailam I. Some have stated that this is just a cover-up for Chairman Khan I because he may be behind it. There has been no evidence of this while evidence is heavily against the AAS. Any person that continues this train of thought against the Chairman will face jailtime. Protestors that have hidden their identity and left the scene without being caught say they will protest until justice for Chairman Mailam I comes. With the news of possible protests, local officials and Confederation Troopers are on high alert.

If anyone knows someone who has protested or is planning to protest, the Bureau of Justice asks that people report these actions. They also still ask the citizens of Indochina to report on any persons that have ties to the AAS, even if they aren't strong ties. The leads will be investigated and will result in arrests if the person does have ties to the AAS. The Bureau of Justice is still on the lookout for Ti Nung Cha Chaiyachue, the leader of Aehksiav Aehngkhuaam Sangobsuk.

Gambling legalised - under conditions

SHUNTIAN — The Executive Committee has legalised gambling across the FEUSSR, following a period of public and internal consultation with various sectors of society.

The Executive Committee had requested all members of the Soviet of the Union to return with 50 responses from their constituencies, formulating its judgement based on the 2,255,000 opinions and comments that were returned. On the issue, most were against the notion of gambling, although a significant portion were open to the concept should it be regulated to lower predatory and toxic behaviour within society.

As such, with written decree and countersigned by our Comrade Leader Kum Jing-In, gambling will be rendered legal across the FEUSSR under the condition that the following regulations be followed:

  • All establishments that support the act of gambling must request Gambling Licenses from the Ministry of Revenues, which must be renewed once every year to continue operations;

  • Family members have the right to request their loved ones be barred from entering gambling grounds;

  • People under the age of 21 are forbidden from entering gambling grounds such as casinos;

  • No ATMs or bank branches shall be accessible from within a gambling ground;

  • All gamblers must pay a nonrefundable and non-reimbursable fee of $150 USP as a prerequisite to enter gambling grounds to the operators of said ground, of which $100 USP will be retained by the Ministry of Revenues;

  • All revenues from gambling shall be taxed at a rate of 30%, and

  • Advertisements for gambling grounds, software, hardware, or the act of gambling are prohibited from being exhibited in public and private grounds, in any form of transit, or on the internet.
