New Torres Administration releases Spanish Foreign Policy, focuses on international cooperation, and securing ties with Middle Eastern countries

| Only a day after Prime Minister Augustina Torres' inauguration into the office of Prime Minister of Spain, she has made clear that she plans to push through her preliminary agenda at a rapid pace. The Torres Administration Foreign Policy (TAF) was made public only hours ago, detailing the government's new plans for interacting with the international world. ON EUROPE, the Spanish government plans to increase the volume of trade with her European neighbors, specifically France, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, and the UK. Spanish foreign policy on Europe also expresses great interest to get involved more with European Space Agency activities. |

| ON SOUTH AMERICA, the Spanish government hopes to increase trade and mutual ties with the Federative Republic of Brazil and the State of La Plata, as well as working together on possible experimental rocket cooperation and smallsat design. The strengthening of ties with the Republic of Peru is also looked forward to by the country. Spain sees Brazil, La Plata and Peru as valuable allies in the coming years, and hopes to create partnerships to benefit generations to come. |

Foreign Minister Yurac Puyucahua Condems Spanish Government

Minister of Foreign Affairs Yurac Puyucahua condemned the Spanish government of Augustina Torres today for its use of the term “Peru” to refer to Tawantinsuyu. Peru, the name used by the Spanish colonial government starting in the 1500s, is often used by white supremisicits and its use is seen as a rejection of a Incan-ruled nation in favor of european domination. Speaking with the press, Mr. Puyucahua was quoted saying “Even if it was a mistake, the use of “Peru” in an official communication by the Spanish government speaks volumes to its, at best, ignorance of Spain’s colonial past. Believe me, we have not forgotten.”

The Foreign Minister later offered Torres the chance to attend a lecture on Spanish colonialism hosted by the University of Qusqu, “to refresh the Prime Minister's memory”.

Some Background on Tawantinsuyu

The current government of Tawantinsuyu can best be described as a One Party State, with the Rikch'aq Suyu Kamachina Tantanakuy (Imperial Law Organization) having a monopoly on political power. The Sapa Inca, Emperor of Tawantinsuyu, holds a high degree of power, including the ability to appoint government ministers and dismiss them at will, as well as dissolve Parliament or declare a state of emergency and suspend the constitution. However, no Sapa Inca has exercised these privileges, prefering to let the elected government conduct itself.

The RSKT is far from homogeneous, with three factions competing for influence within the organization. Incumbent Inkap Rantin (Prime Minister) Ansilmu Mamani heads the Conservative faction, which above all else desirses the status quo in Tawantinsuyu. Kenji Fujimori is the leader of the Fujimorists, who tend to advocate for less government intervention in the economy and hardline religious conservatism. Lastly, Túpac Yupanqui leads the reformist faction, who seek to lift many restrictions on civil liberties and create a welfare state without destroying the RSKT.

However, with the coronation of the new Sapa Inca Yawar Waqaq, the Future of Tawantinsuyu is uncertain.

Spanish Cortes Generales assembles for the first time following new election; Prime Minister Torres lays out plan for 2024

| On the 31st of May, the Cortes Generales of the Kingdom of Spain (General Courts or Spanish Parliament) assembled for the first time following the national elections earlier in the month. The Cortes Generales are the bicameral legislative chambers of Spain, consisting of the Congress of Deputies (Lower House) and the Senate (Upper House). The Cortes Generales consists of 350 deputies and 266 senators, who are elected every four years during the national election. As a parliamentary system, the Cortes can dismiss the Prime Minister of Spain and his or her government. It can also dismiss the Prime Minister through a majority vote of no confidence. |

| On May 31, the government officials of the Kingdom of Spain awoke and prepared for what would be an important day in the Spanish government's history. King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia of Spain departed the Zarzuela Palace outside of Madrid, bound for the Palacio de las Cortes (Palace of the Cortes) in central Madrid. Prime Minister Torres left the Moncloa Palace at 9:30AM local time, while the deputies and senators of the Cortes Generales left their respective residences in Madrid. The Solemne Apertura de las Cortes Generales (Solemn Opening of the Parliament of Spain) began at 3:30PM local time with the arrival of Prime Minister Augustina Torres at the Palacio de las Cortes. At 4:15PM, King Felipe VI and the Royal Family of Spain arrived, where they greeted the Prime Minister and the Chief of the Defense Staff, Defense Minister Nadia Calvino.
