The Referendum on the increased Defense Forces, new military programs and other developments by the Von Kassius Directory has been casted, and to the surprise of many, has resulted in a 90% voting for "YES". Thus, the current Defense Development Program has been legalized and accepted into the Nordhafener Government. The overwhelming approval has surprised many specialists, who have declared this has shifted the status quo of political perception that has stood in many constituencies for decades now. Various localized protests have taken place, albeit with a much reduced attendance, and most have required Constabulary action as the violence against non-participants begin.
On the Parliament, Allied Tomorrow and its block of supporter parties had declared they will stall government in protest and support any an all protests with the intent of repealing what they believe was a rigged referendum. Not long after this statements and their approval of various violent acts as "the voice of the people", National Vanguard Chairman Axel Krügger, along various other leaders, proposed a "Motion of Barring" against AT, citing is uncooperativeness, perceived double standards and condoning of violent actions against non-participants in protests. Chairman Krügger Stated: "Allied Tomorrow has, for many years, taken a position believed by many, me included, to be that of contrarianism and localist irredentism charged with social issues. But they are a necessary component of the opposition that gives weight to our democracy. But after they have condoned violence for political manifestations, illicit acts as the Coal Bay Incident, and threats of stalling legislature for not getting their way, we cannot no longer consider they have the institution of democracy as their primary goal and thus do not follow the oath that the party took 20 years ago when it was first registered. Thus I present this motion of Barring for the party, while its members may continue under different banners."
The motion was passed by 2/3 of the Legislature, effectively beginning the barring process against AT. AT has, however, maid no official statements.
