I probably shouldn't be wondering because I despise Fascists and Nazis as much as you people but why are we on a crusade to eliminate them?
Mariner Trench is less about that and more about running a civilian region which will grow however our community decides (with the obvious exception of Nazi/Fascist themes/policies).

The MT Army however was formed in 2003 to combat a rather large and ever growing Nazi/Fascist raiding force on NationStates, who were raiding indiscriminately, spreading their hateful propaganda and ruining the game for many.
In 2004 The MT Army became known as an unstoppable Anti-Nazi/Fascist war machine. By 2006 the beaten and battered Nazis/Fascists lost their intensity, no longer invading innocent regions and unable to mount effective defenses for their own.
Victorious in their cause, The MT Army retired. Since then we have returned to the battle whenever required to help stop the Nazi/Fascist threat on NationStates from ever rising again.

Becoming a Trenchian is a big step. You'll have certain privileges and rights here, and also several responsibilities to our region, which are outlined briefly below.
As a Trenchian, our Law guarantees you the right to vote in elections and referenda, participate in The MT Army Reserves, and run in elections for official positions, as well as granting you certain other legal rights.
Our Government will also take whatever steps are necessary to help you if you are in need of it, and for the preservation of your rights both in Mariner Trench and abroad, to the extent that is appropriate with your involvement in other regions.

This Nation charts the fascinating (yet overlooked) rise and fall of the Second French Empire and the lives of Napoleon III and Louis-Napoléon, Prince Imperial.
As a result this nation does not precisely represent my political beliefs (i.e. in reality I hate conscription, absolutism etc.) and focuses more the Time of the 2nd French Empire.
Personally I really admire the work of the MT and always smile when I see the flag of the MT army.

Our favourite Star Wars movie poll has revealed a tight knit race between Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Both deserving winners and I was torn between the two in my vote.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story took the honors by just a single vote and I think that's a fair call.
Rogue One's acting, story-line, humor, visuals and music were on point, it was faithful to the original movies whilst expanding on the Star Wars lore, without ruining the universe at large (cough cough Episode 8).
If anyone has some ideas for other polls, please let me know via Discord or Telegram.
