New Government Formed After Months of Debate. Visit from Etenan Royal Family in the Works?

Following months of tense negotiations, the leaders of the National Radical Union (ERE) has managed to come to an agreement with the Progressives (KPE) and Popular Social Party (LKK) to form a new government. Under the arrangement, the leader of the ERE, Panayotis Kanellopoulos, would assume the role Prime Minister appointed by the King, while the ERE themselves would hold most positions in the cabinet. It is unclear as of yet which ministers will be appointed, although it is expected for such appointments to be made very soon after a new Prime Minister is sworn in.

The formation of a new majority government represents a severe shift away from the minority Liberal government of the past half-decade. The Liberal Party, rechristened as the Liberal-Centre Union and still under the control of the former Prime Minister Georgios Papandreou, will form the Official Opposition. Although Georgios himself has shied away from seeking an alliance with more leftist parties such as the Panhellenic Socialist League, his son Andreas - expected to soon take over leadership of the Liberals - has not denied the possibility of a future Liberal-Socialist coalition.

In other news, rumours have surfaced over a potential visit from the Etenan royal family. Relations between Greece and the Etenans have always been extremely friendly, and such a visit would surely solidify relations between the two royal houses, if not the two countries as a whole.
