I made another dispatch, this time about the 2020 election in Nilveroe because it is 05:48 AM and I am bored.
The main issues leading up to the election were Covid-19, migration and energy policy. Migration had been a problem since 2015, although Nilveroe wasn’t hit with large waves of migrants as other nations were at that time. Migration had also been slowing down for the past years and some didn’t even think of it as an issue anymore. This meant that the right-wing populist parties such as the Nationalist Party that had been growing as a result of the public’s distaste against the government handling the migrant crisis were going to either stagnate or fall behind.
Energy policy was an issue spearheaded by the Green Party. Oil products are the nations main energy source, along with other fossil fuels. The Green Party stated it would gradually shift Nilveroe from a fossil fuel dependent nation to a renewable energy dependent one by 2030 by using renewable energy sources such as wind farms and hydropower and by investigating the possibility to produce electricity from LNG and biogas. Tidal power may be one of the largest energy producers in the future as researchers are looking into it currently. This has been popular amongst the public.
Most parties support the governments harsh Covid-19 policy, except for the Nationalist Party. The policy has consisted of the country shutting down completely by using methods such as lockdowns. As of now Nilveroe doesn’t have a single case of Covid-19 and it has boosted trust among the government.
