“Well, if you’re good at cooking fish and steak, I may have to come by more often.” She certainly appeared to be hungry.

OOC: this new planet is sakura's tyl quadrus

The small Byzantine research ship Salamina, with a crew of 238, drops out of FTL into the new system.
They're there to research the potentially habitable planet in this system, and if things go well, to set up a new Byzantine colony.

Markos Aiglos sits at the Pilot's Chair of the Salamia, famous for being the most prominent surviving member of the affair on that one Letandi planet (Palaven).
He looks outside at the window as the ship drops out of FTL, into the system containing a planet so new that they don't even have a name for it yet.

From what he can see of it, it looks habitable, if frozen nearly to the equator.

"Initial readings show that the planet is habitable, but almost all of it is below 0 Degrees Celsius." the science officer, who's name Aiglos vaguely recalls as being "Phillipos" says.
"Well that's fairly good." Captain Matthaios says. "Start preparing an initial expedition to survey the planet."

"Uh, sir?" Philipos says, with an expression of slight surprise.
"Yes?"
"The planet appears to be inhabited, by several sentient humanoid creatures, with a population approximating to a few hundred million."
Silence in the ship.
"Hmm." Matthaios says, obviously confused and unsure on what to do.

Aiglos was barely listening to the captain brief on what they were going to do when he heard the words "Pilot Markos, you can go down with the expedition team, since you have experience with alien life."

Oh great, I have to go down to the planet.
Well, here's hoping that we don't crash into the surface immediately and get eaten by giant mutant bugs and-

"Markos, are you listening?"

"Erm, yes sir."

"Good. Head to the surface expedition ship in the lower hull-"

"Yes, yes, I know where it is."

"Very well, you are dismissed."

Aiglos heads down to the lower hull and into the smaller ship that was the SES, fitting a small group of people. He notes that 3 researchers and 5 security contingent are going down to the planet in the ship. He takes his seat in the pilot's chair and opens comms with the bridge.

"Surface Expedition Ship, ready for launch."

"This is the Salamia bridge, you are authorized for launch."

"Alright, decoupling from the Salamia now."

The ship flies down, heading for the equator where the snow and ice is least prevalent.

Unknown Planet

Kyle felt a ringing in his head as he slowly regained consciousness. He heard someone calling his name and when he finally opened his eyes, he saw Callie, her helmet off and her fox ears very noticeable, looking straight at him. “Please tell me we’re all still in one piece...” he croaked.

“Just barely,” Callie smiled. “A few minor injuries but we survived. As did the hull miraculously.”

Kyle then remembered what had happened as he slowly got up. “So where did we crash?”

“Near a lake, which is good news, meaning we won’t have to worry about water and food if there are fish underneath. The bad news is...it’s really damn cold. We managed to seal off the breach but the cold will set in eventually.”

“And let me guess...comms are a no go?”

“Unfortunately...looks like we’ll have to go old school survival until a ship finds us. At least the armory stuck with us when the ship split so weapons won’t be an issue.”

“Where’s Jorge?”

“With the others setting up a perimeter,” Callie said. “We even managed to save a couple speeder bikes.”

“That should come in handy...we better stay together for now. If there’s any intelligent life here, they’ll have to have seen the crash...”

Bucksden wrote:"Right... that's an understandable concern. It's really unfortunate that it has to be one in the first place, but his hesitation makes sense. “Perhaps but...I probably shouldn’t draw any attention to myself. But I’ll make sure nothing happens to you either.”

There was a slight jolt in the ship, meaning they had entered hyperspace. “Goodness, I didn’t even notice the ship had took off.”

Unknown Planet

What happens when you take a Gozanti-class Assault Carrier and not only have the hyperdrive malfunction but the failsafe as well? The front half of a Gozanti come out of hyperspace with the other half who knows where, and the only people still currently alive being six troopers and the two pilots trying to keep everything left still intact.

Kyle Rendar had a mixture of emotions on his face, though it couldn’t be seen due to the helmet he was wearing. This was supposed to be a regular trip, transporting cargo to one of the bases on Nubila. Now that all could be seen was a white planet below, presumably covered in snow.

“Okay...so out of a platoon of troopers, an Alliance officer, and the two pilots up front...there’s only eight of us left.”

“That pretty much sums it up, yeah,” Callie said. “And we have no power and no way to contact the Alliance.”

“Sh*t...I didn’t sign up for this,” Jorge groaned.

Callie, short for Callista Lacain, was the only Kapteynian in the platoon assigned to the ship and with her being a Fox Kapteynian, she has to constantly deal with guys flirting with her...especially Jorge. Jorge Marhas was more laidback, which often irritated his superiors. The three of them were an odd group but they got along just fine. Now they had to find a way to stay alive.

“So we’re currently in half a ship, with only a limited amount of oxygen and our only salvation is an ice planet,” Kyle groaned. “Just great...”

“Pilot, how close are we to that planet?” Callie called out.

“We’re in the planet’s orbit but it’s starting to pull us in!” the pilot called back.

“Well, least we won’t die in space,” Jorge chuckled.

“We better buckle in as best we can,” Kyle said. “This is gonna be a rough landing.”

The ship soon started entering the planet’s atmosphere and if there was anyone inhabiting the planet, they would most likely see a large fireball crash somewhere onto the planet.

It is said that things from the heavens were full of treasures and items of rarity unable to find in this barren forsaken world that was once called 'home'. Home to death, anarchy, and what remains of the old world.

Yet people still find new ways to assert their power and to gain it, asserting their control over a pile of barren land that can be called 'my territory' and fight over it. Nothing is permanent in this world, other than greed itself.

Upon looking towards the skies of the wasteland. A scout of the Oubo Kingdom spotted a red flaming ball of meatball coming in hot onto the surface. The scout knowing what this was, a meteorite or a gift from the Gods and Goddesses.

She quickly ran back to inform the Lord of the Oubo Kingdom, Lord Jacqueline Huff, bursting into her throne room and kneeling down with her head straight down not revealing her face.

Scout: "Mi' Lord, I've spotted something wonderful, something stunning!"

Jacqueline: "Straight to the point Scout,"

Scout: "I've spotted a meteor, or a gift from the Gods and Goddesses, we must seek it before the Warmonger Faction can seize it!"

It took a few minutes for Jacqueline to decide and without informing her Generals she had decided.

Jacqueline: "Very well, I shall send out a search party and loot the place where it may have crashed,"

The scout was dismissed and a band of 35 knights and archers along with their commander Oskar Lehner were sent off.

A raider party of the War Mongrels were coming back after their raid upon Lethean which had went, mediocre, having to deal a bit of damage to the Half-Elven settlements yet they had to flee after taking heavy casualties.

Though perhaps the band of 19 raiders can maybe be redeemed by командир Sun Ra. As they saw a gleaming chance to redeem themselves as a fire ball was flying down from the sky. Hopefully not a meteors and hopefully has some good loot.

Second Lieutenant Selivanov Victor made the executive decision that he will not come home empty handed. He will bring loot no matter what it takes and please his leader.

Thus the 19 raiders turned back and started to march in the direction to where the crash site was. Hoping it wasn't some plain meteorite that crashed upon the world.

We have established that this system has 1 gas giant, which is a definite mining target, as well as an asteroid belt. There is also the foreign presence here, which we have failed to identify. I will be making first contact shortly, after we drop a deep space relay.

Everything was quiet for the next ten minutes. Darklighter kept his gaze out into space, wondering what would happen next.

The SES sucessfully lands on the planet without much hassle. The first thing that is noticed is that it is, as shown, pretty cold. The Byzantines begin bringing out their food supplies, and opening up their portable tents and sleeping bags.

Aiglos brings out the scanner that detects for heat signals and transmissions. He also notes that the area they are in abets a fairly large lake, so water wasn't going to be too much of a problem if the normal supply ever ran out.

And then he noticed something on the scanner.
He checks again, and swears. He sprints back to the camp. "We got potential hostiles incoming, be alert!"

A scientist relays the message to the Salamia before the crew takes defensive positions in hastily made barricades. Aiglos grabs his rifle, energy shield, and sword, while the rest of the crew grabs regular pistols and energy shields from the defensive weaponry containers on the ship.
