There were twelve fleets currently stationed in Kapteyn. Six were around the planet Nubila, four at Macbeth, and two on standby at Brigid. As soon as the enemy came into range, the Alliance ships began opening fire as Alliance starfighters started moving towards the capital ships.

On the planets’ surfaces, garrisons were deployed, with a large number of walkers, big and small, as AA guns were stationed around the perimeter of the capital cities. Meanwhile, troops were entrenched, waiting to see if the enemy would break through the lines in space.

Reunion Pt. 2

When the Star Wing dropped out of hyperspace, there was already a battle underway between Sistonian and Alliance forces just outside of Vitr’s orbit. Fortunately, they were focused on the one side of the planet, though Winter wondered how long that would last.

The shuttle entered the atmosphere and made its way towards Schnee Manor. With any luck, Jacques would still not be back yet. There was a landing pad just outside the manor grounds and it was there the Star Wing landed.

“You two stay here,” Winter said as she got up. She made her way down the landing ramp and made her way towards the manor. It had been over ten years since she last stepped forth on these grounds and honestly, it didn’t feel like much has changed.

The first thing she noticed was the large J-Type Transport (https://ibb.co/Cvc0DjN). Winter remembered it from all the trips she and her family took when she was younger. The second thing she noticed was the amount of luggage the staff was putting on it. She sighed, wondering if her mother had somehow misheard when she said only things she needed.

“Miss Winter?”

Winter suddenly stopped and looked towards a man who was mostly bald and had a good-sized mustache. “Klein?” she asked.

The man smiled and walked towards her. “Oh Miss Winter, it’s been too long.” Winter smiled as well as she embraced her former butler and friend. Klein had been around for as long as she could remember and while he served the Schnee family, he did so as if they were his own family, especially with the Schnee children. Despite Jacques’ abuse, and Willow’s withdrawal, Klein had always looked out for them.

“It has been awhile, Klein,” Winter said, trying not to get emotional. “I’m sure you’ve heard the news by now.”

“Indeed,” Klein sighed slightly. “Another day, another war it seems.” He paused, realizing who exactly he was talking to. “But what about you, are you alright?”

“I’ll be fine,” Winter said. “Say, where is-?”

“Winter!” She suddenly was hugged from behind, but she didn’t have to guess who it was.

“Miss Weiss!” Klein snapped. “I know she is family and all but realize she is also-”

“It’s okay Klein,” Winter assured him as he returned Weiss’ hug. “School going well?”

Weiss smirked. “Straight A’s, as always. Though with what’s going on...honestly this was the first time I’ve ever seen Mother become assertive.”

Coincidentally, it was at that moment Willow appeared by the entrance door. Klein seemed to notice her and took the hint. “Miss Weiss, perhaps we should go and make sure everything is secure on the ship.” He then gently guided Weiss away despite her objections.

Winter looked towards her mother and went over to her. Despite her age, Willow didn’t look much older than Winter herself, despite all the stress she had put up with over the years. “Mother,” Winter said in greeting.

“Winter,” Willow said in return. She then smiled sadly. “You’ve really grown since the last time we saw each other.”

“A lot has happened since then...”

“I know...I remember hearing about you being on the frontlines during the war...I was almost worried one day they were going to come to the manor and tell us the bad news...”

“I had some close calls...I’ll be honest. But I had to be strong...one day I would-”

“Come back and take Weiss and Whitley with you?” Willow asked, her smile turning sly.

“I wouldn’t have left you behind Mother...” Winter looked away. “I didn’t realize it at the time but...you were suffering just as we were...”

“You know what your father’s capable of.”

“I don’t give a damn!” Winter suddenly snapped. “I’ve left you all alone for too long...but no longer. I...I’m sorry Mother...”

Willow walked to her and gently put her hands on Winter’s face. “I never got to tell you the day you left, but when you decided upon yourself you were going to forge your own path, I was so proud...and I always have been.”

Winter’s eyes suddenly teared up as she suddenly embraced her mother, the first time in many years. After a few moments, Willow let go and wiped away her daughter’s tears. “Now, don’t worry about us. You have an Alliance to save, don’t you?”

“Yeah...I promise I’ll see you all soon.”

“I don’t mean to interrupt you two but I think we need to get going.” Winter looked over and saw her younger brother Whitley. “...It’s been a long time, Winter.”

“Yeah...you too Whitley...” Winter said. Whitley almost seemed to roll his eyes as he made his way to the ship. “He always had a bit of an attitude didn’t he?”

Willow chuckled. “I wonder where he got it from...are you sure about all this?”

“Yes,” Winter replied. “You’ll be much safer in New Szel, but you need to go now while we both still can.”

“Okay...we’ll see you soon.” Willow said as she started to walk away. “By the way...your father doesn’t know this but...I voted for you in the election.”

Winter stood there until the ship took off. She could only hope that it would be a safe journey for them. She soon made her way back to her shuttle.

THE HUNT FOR YANAPUMA | PT 2
PUCALLPA | STATE OF UCAYLI | INCAN OCCUPIED TERRITORIES

The tense nature of the room left something to be desired for Governor Icoua, close ally of the former Incan Emperor Yanapuma and now stuck in her own office being held essentially hostage by the damn Pretannian Devils. Greene meanwhile could tell that Icoua was having trouble with the situation, planning to capitalize on the woman's discomfort. Greene stood up, walking around the room for a moment with her hands behind her back. She moved over to the window, looking out to the city below them. She smirked.

"You know Madame Governor... we could easily have you removed... remember that hiding information or people of interest from Coalition Forces constitutes a crime here no? "

Icoua scoffed at the notion.

"Huascar would never! He knows I'm the only person who can bridge the divide."

"Pfft... divide. Pretty sure even your own people hated Yanapuma, the man was a tyrant."

"He was a hero!" Icoua yelled at her, her voice sounding shaky yet filled with unrelenting anger. Greene laughed again, looking back to her with a sinister grin.

"It seems loyalties never die now do they Madame Icoua..."

Icoua rolled her eyes.

"Shut it."

Greene cocked the pistol in her hand, walking over to Icoua.

"If I were you I would start to comply, because if not then I am not afraid to punch a bullet straight through your forehead. Got it?"

Her voice was wispy yet strong. Showing a clear and consise message, the exact one Greene wanted to send. Either bend the knee and comply... or die. Icoua sighed.

"I keep telling you I don't know where he is..."

Of course she was lying but she would rather die then betray the man who saved her own life. She knew he'd do the same for her again. Greene sighed.

"You test my patience Icoua... just ans-"

Icoua interrupted with a barking toned response.

"If you're going to shoot me then do it already. Otherwise I have no reason to take you seriously."

Greene took a step back, giving a glare to Icoua, nobody interrupted her. Though Greene then smiled in a rather sadistic way.

"Alright." She said before taking out her pistol in near lightning speed, not even allowing Icoua to react before she shot her in the shoulder.

"AGH!" she screamed out in pain. Greene smiled as she grabbed onto her shoulder, breathing heavily as blood poured through the open areas of her hand.

"Y-You bastard..." Icoua said as she made her way to the chair. Greene continued to smile as she looked over to her.

"Alright, you tested me there. Now you see when I say something I mean it. Do not question me again."

Icoua rolled her eyes as she continued to hold onto her shoulder.

"Y-you fvcking..."

she would stop after that, probably for her own good.

"A-As I said already I don't know where he is."

Greene was displeased with the response, knowing she was blatantly lying to her face. Greene wanted Justice, Icoua in her mind was just another tyrant to plow through. Greene leaned onto her desk, getting within mere inches of her face.

"Alright now listen carefully. Tell me where he isn and I won't kill you. Got it?"

Icoua nodded, looking down for a minute. As she looked back up she gave Greene a rather defeated look. She knew she was going to die if she didn't comply and she had a family to return to nevertheless.

"Fine... from what I know he is hiding out in the northern jungles of the state, in an old military bunker."

Greene stepped back, giving her a warm somewhat creepy smile.

"See now that wasn't so hard now was it?"

She then snapped her finger, one of the other men in the room quickly grabbing her from behind and holding her up to a wall.

"WHA-" Greene shushed her as she prepared to walk out from the room. Icoua was shaking with rage as the guards held her, another one cocking his gun and pointing it at her forehead. Icoua looked at Greene.

"I hope you die, mother fu-" Greene snapped her finger, the gun firing and the bullet entering her skull. Greene laughed for a second before walking out of the room, nodding for the guards to let go of her fallen corpse, watching it fall to the ground motionless before leaving.

"This is the new era.... the new order..." Greene said with a smirk as her and the team left the building. Icoua's assassination would of course never reach the ears of the Pretannian Government at large, most already weary of the BlackStone Corps but this would force military tribunals. Of course the Incan Government would indeed replace Icoua, but Greene knew that they wouldn't be too happy about doing so. Greene would need to be careful from here on out. Of course the Incans wouldn't know it was BlackStone, there were still indeed remnants of the Yanapuma and Huascar wartime movements, maybe some Huascar people got into the building by accident? Though none of this mattered, Greene was a step closer now in accomplishing their mission, finding Yanapuma.
