The Temple of Umbra

The Temple of Umbra is a quasi-spiritual pseudoscientific and social movement within the Confederation of Corrupt Dictators. The principles of the temple are based on a notion of social Darwinism mixed with Left-Hand Path mysticism. The central tenet of the Temple of Umbra is to proclaim the nonexistence of literal deities, but affirming that mastery over the physical forces of the universe is uniquely explicable through the agency of the rational human mind. Following from there, the Temple of Umbra claims that the human race can be attuned with the supernatural through scientific exploration and genetic engineering. Taking note of the existence of preternatural beings with abilities that surpass those of baseline humans, such as the demon race which inhabits The Cursed Burning Legions of Hellslayer or His Supreme Majesty, the Shadow Emperor of The Shadow Cult of Jocospor, the Temple of Umbra aims to mold humanity into a race of superior "daemonic" beings. The temple regards His Supreme Majesty, the Shadow Emperor, as a perfect messiah due to representing the pinnacle and exemplar of what the members of the temple seek for their progeny to yield up, given enough generations. The temple has adopted religious airs due to the semi-ironical consecration of its mission as "holy" and consequently evinces a quasi-ecclesiastical leadership hierarchy.
