Mystery disease - what you need to know

After the postponement of the Winter Olympics due to an "unknown flu" World Health Association finds details on potential epidemic

LONCSEV - The world prepares for what could be the most deadly disease outbreak in history - and here at TBN we take a look at the information on the "mystery disease." Here are the five essential things to know about the pandemic...

It has a name - The World Health Association alongside a joint research with Paxiosolange research centers have concluded a name for the virus - "General Immunodeficiency Virus." The name was quickly adopted as "GIV-1" by the WHA; the name has been released to the public and have been publicized in official WHA reports. In layman's terms, the name essentially defines as a failure of the immune system - in which it does not protect the body from certain pathogens and diseases. The "1" stands for the lab it was first discovered... Research Labratory 1.

How it spreads - According to the NHA, WHA and various health commissions and organizations, the virus originated from central Fusea. The flu quickly spreaded around the continent, most notably, Paxiosolange. As you may know, Paxiosolang Olympic athletes have transmitted the virus to Franshov - eventually contaminating the Olympic Park... The pathogen spreads through physical contact, water droplets, (coughing, sneezing) and travels its way into the stomach. As it does, it moves around the body and damaging the immune system... making the victim vunerable. Physical contact with anyone who is thought to be sick, is not be advised.

Areas that are contaminated - GIV-1 is extremely infectious. The WHA has predicted that the flu spreads like wildfire - it could infect 200,000 to 400,000 within just 72 hours. The WHA has conducted simulations over a 10-day time period:

So far, only small pockets of central Fusea have been affected. Mass evacuations have begun in those areas. The area is extremely lethal, though the virus does not work in the air, the flu can be active, in which, it is contaminated. The darker the red, the more dangerous; the lighter the red, the less dangerous. The WHA also concludes that the virus may have started near Lake Fusea. The water area has been known to contain various diseases, but not like this, says WHA officials. The contiminated Franshov Olympic park is contained and qaurintined, so the flu is not active there.

How many people are infected - Though the images mentioned above are just hypothetical simulations, the WHA also reports that as many as 1000 - 3000 have already been infected over the last 24 hours. 78 cases of deaths, however, have been issued. The cases spread from Paxiosolange, Great Solordia, Atheenos and the The akhara islands. These are the nations that have been affected by at least one person. The toll has not been finalized; as the WHA works virgorously.

It does not have a cure (yet) -Sadly, it does not have a cure... well of course it doesn't, the disease has been discovered Friday night. The WHA concludes that a cure could be develop within 10 months, but officials say it could even take 18 months. Coupled with the world-wide manufacturing of the cure to the population, another year to take up. The span of this epidemic can never be predicted, but it could be said that a 3-year outbreak could take place...
