Lost World Finds Itself

Saurian Nations began as a dream. The result was a nightmare

An isolated, insular island. Shipwrecked sailors, washed up on shore. A lost world of ancient reptiles, never-before-seen by human eyes.

Together, Human and Dinosaur, they transformed the land lost to time into a communal paradise. "Dinotopia" was born, and horizons were broad and inviting. And for centuries, the two societies bonded as one to create a civilization neither could have achieved alone.

Truly, this was a utopia. A Dinotopia.

All that changed in the 20th century. A reckless joint-stock company, International Genetic Technologies, discovered the tucked-away island-nation. "InGen" took one look at the unique society hidden from the rest of the world, and could see only Profit.

With the aid of their corporate-military division, these mercantile thugs put to shore, solely-focused on devouring land and life. A peaceful, civilized society, the men and saurians were caught off guard and completely unprepared for this incursion into their world of learning and art and family.

Their men of war drove across the island nation, murdering and pillaging, tearing down all that stood in their way. Their men of science abducted hatchlings and the unborn, dragging them back to their ships in chains, to be locked up in cages in a foreign land, and fated to be gawked at and prodded for amusement and study.

Fire and Death left behind in their wake.

The survivors looked around at the wanton destruction and consumption that was once their home, and something changed within them.

Dinotopia ceased to be. The Saurian Nations rose from its ashes.

Renouncing weakness, they strove for strength. Before, they had been vulnerable and naive. Now, they would militarize and forever onward remain vigilant to threats -- both from without and within.

A military junta rose to power on promises to keep the Saurian population safe and war-ready, while the humans were disarmed and suppressed, relegated to second-class citizens.

They would never again be so abused.
