Policies (Spam / Adverts / Embassies)

Embassies

If your RMB has less than ten posts in the past thirty days, please do not propose embassies. News is only posted to active RMBs (see spam policy below). Please don't be offended - this is a practical step to reduce the workload of checking activity before posting.

Please also set your region's Admin page to allow embassy posts before sending a request.

The NewsStand may choose to close embassies if later your region no longer meets the acceptance criteria. Again, this is a practical decision to reduce workload, and not a reflection on your region.

Remember, you can always add us to your dossier, or pin the dispatch to your WFE to stay close to the news.

Embassy RMB Policy

We know that nobody likes their RMB to be spammed, so we try to follow these guidelines when posting our adverts:

  • We limit posts to at most once a week

  • We avoid double posting

  • At most two of the last ten posts should be ours

If you would like us to stop posting to your RMB, please contact your Regional Officer first. Explain to them why you find the post frustrating, point them to this dispatch, and ask them if they will close the embassy (the easiest solution).

Since 2017, when opening an embassy, we send a telegram to the Regional Officer who requested an embassy with us. The telegram explains that we will post our adverts on their RMBs, and that they may advertise on our RMB. The nature of our relationship is clear from the start.

Your RO may decide that they want to keep the embassy open. If you still feel you're being spammed, contact us, and we'll try and find a solution.

Our RMB Policy

Adverts only, please. Unfortunately our RMB is not for chat.

Adverts should:

  • clearly state the thing being promoted

  • be under 60 words. (Like this policy)

  • link to whatever you're advertising

  • comply with NationStates rules

  • not put others down

Linked polls should be open to all.

Linked Factbooks / Dispatches must have audience appeal.

Your Embassy Policy

We are a unique region. The nations in The NewsStand are people's puppets, set up specifically to deliver other regions' newspapers. Because of this, we have only a small number of nations, and no WAs. This may mean we don't meet the standard criteria for an embassy with you. It's for you to decide if we're worth making an exception for.

I think we are ;)
