Independence of Ideologies Act

Article 1. The Silusthencan Council, hereinafter referred to as the "Council," affirms the right of all nations to subscribe to any ideology of their choosing.

Article 2. The Council affirms that this right extends beyond NationStates accounts & applies to the player behind the account.

Article 3. This right shall be referred to as "independence of ideology."

Article 4. Independence of ideology shall not be infringed upon by using one account's ideology as requiring the closure of any other accounts with competing ideologies.

Article 5. Specifically, the Council affirms the right of a player to simultaneously hold accounts:
• that are Communist or otherwise on the far-left spectrum;
• that are fascist or otherwise on the far-right spectrum;
• that are religious to any degree, without regard to what that religion may be; &
• that are secularist to the point of opposing religion.

Article 6. The Council finds that most regions claiming to respect full independence of ideology, in whatever terms they may use for it, miserably fail to uphold their own standards.

Article 7. We, therefore, condemn regions that misrepresent admission requirements, misrepresent the rights they bestow upon their members, or misapply their laws.

Article 8. We condemn regions who presume that players automatically accept the ideology presented in the nation they are playing, unless that region explicitly makes such a presumption clear, or is otherwise clearly a serious region intended to be more than a game for its members.

Article 9. Nothing contained in this Act may be used to justify violations of NationStates moderation rules.

Article 10. This Act forms part of the Transparency Accords, alongside the Census Act, Government Accountability Act & World Assembly Rotation Decree. As such, it may not be amended or repealed except by consensus of the Council's full members.
