Your World Assembly Delegate!

First and foremost, my nation is the Militaristic Federation of the Sheika or just Sheika. I will answer to either, and do not blame you for using the shortened version. I am the World Assembly Delegate for Absolution. Sounds pretty cool, right? But what is it that I do? Allow me to explain that for you.

If you are not familiar with the World Assembly, it is an organization of nations from all over NationStates (sometimes referred to as the multiverse given the various nations and species represented) where different resolutions that member nations abide by, and in some cases vote to repeal said resolutions if it becomes necessary, can be discussed. Think of it as a sort of club with guidelines. No matter what kind of government you have, you are welcome to join but your stats will be altered in accordance with what is allowed by the World Assembly. Successful Resolutions start off as rough drafts posted in the World Assembly forum and can be debated by members and non-members alike, although only member states may vote for Resolutions or Repeals. The response to each draft can vary with some being accepting of what is present while others can be very critical. Many who discuss and debate ideas and topics have come to know the Assembly as the Festering Snake Pit. Not something to be feared or avoided, but to be tread through with caution.

What does that have to do with me as a the Regional Delegate? Well, I basically speak on behalf of not only my nation but other member nations of the region. Given our Region's stance of neutrality and sovereignty I use those ideals as guidelines when discussing different ideas and topics. Nations within Absolution who are part of the World Assembly are free to vote as they please, whenever they please. When it comes down to voting, I cast my vote around the last day of voting based upon a Regional poll where all members are invited to vote. The majority vote of the poll determines what vote I cast. In the result of a tie, I go to the voting page of the World Assembly and go with the majority vote from our Region, not the Assembly as a whole. If that is also a tie, then I cast a vote based upon my understanding of the Resolution.

I have an open door policy. If you ever have any questions, comments, or concerns feel free to contact me either via telegram or RMB if you feel it is a matter that should be publicly discussed. I am more than happy to assist you what whatever you need in regards to the Assembly. Also, if you are interested in writing a proposal I can assist you with creating your draft. Bear in mind, it is a good idea to take a look at passed resolutions to see what has already been done. There is also the matter of illegalities; certain actions that you would like done may have the potential to be illegal. As an example, let's say that you want to ban Socialism or Communism; that would be an example of an ideological ban, and therefore illegal. It is also a good idea to write from the point of view of the Assembly as a whole, not just your nation. There are other examples of what can be construed as illegal, but the best experience I have had with those is learning as you go.

As a World Assembly member, if you choose to vote on Security Council matters of your own free will. Be advised, as it has been advised to me, that you will do so without the support of the Region. As such, voting on Security Council matters is not something I do.

Last but not least, I am here to serve the Region. If there is anything I can do to assist you within my capacity as Regional Delegate, please feel free to let me know.
