Greetings, everyone! After a gap of three long years of hiatus, the North Pacific Cards Guild has now decided to announce the grand return of its flagship event; The North Pacific Cards Symposium 2026!

To celebrate the continued triumph of trading cards as a prominent feature and the seasons of cards we had all along, The North Pacific hereby invites YOU, fellow NationStates user, to attend this event!

The returning edition shall commence on August 24 2026, and shall go on till August 31 2026 marking a historical and memorable week long edition. The Symposium shall feature legendary giveaways, card events, game nights and a few lectures from members of the community. The edition also shall announce the much awaited Cards PowerX, which has replaced the Cards Awards as the symposium’s main event.

What exactly will take place at the Symposium?

The whole events of the symposium shall be taking place in the designated discord server from August 24^th 2026 to August 31^st 2026. Everyday of the event consists of various activities in which members can take part. The Symposium is a floor to enjoy as well as be part of various card related discussions. The Symposium also sets the ground for players to explore Nationstates Cards and start their journey with the community if they haven’t.

The North Pacific Card Symposium shall have all it's events and competitions commencing on this day with a random legendary card giveaway.

Symposium Card Collection Contest

Any site-appropriate collection that was created within the time the event started and ended will be permitted. As long as it fits these criteria, card collections of any kind, whether it be creative ones, numerically large ones, or something related will be allowed. This is done for the sake of allowing wider creativity in the contest. As mentioned above however, only 1 card collection may be submitted per participant. With this in mind, giving us context (such as the story behind why your submitted collection contains the cards it possesses) will be highly recommended.
Card collections that already existed before the event started (remember, the collection must be made during the contest period) and/or site-inappropriate submissions will not be eligible for winning.
Submissions of the contest shall happen in the respective discord channel in the Symposium server and the winner shall receive a random legendary card and the runners up will receive a random epic card.

Cards PowerX	The Cards PowerX, has been announced as the flagship event of the symposium in this edition and it's upcoming edition. The Cards PowerX will be a ranking system of ten individuals in the cards community based on their overall activity, contribution to the community as well as their impact in the past one year. The rankings have been divided into three tiers: Gold (2), Silver (3) and Bronze (5) where the nations are randomly arranged. The ranking system was decided, voted and formulated by a PowerX Panel consisting of various members of the community.	25th August, 05:30 AM UTC
Ultimate Kard Karl Showdown	Participants will be given four themes each day starting from 25th August until the end of the event on the 30th of August. The participant is then subjected to submit one card each for every theme until the end of the event. These submitted cards will be evaluated by a panel and will be scored out of five points. At the end, the participant with the most points get to win a random legendary card and the runners up will receive a random epic card. The cards submitted for the contest should be farmed and found during the timeframe of "20th August 2026" and till the end of the event.	25th August, 13:30 PM UTC to 30th August, 13:30 PM UTC
Guest Lecture #1	Novaya Zemlya Archipelago (formerly known as, Ulm-Memmingen) will be presenting their first ever and the debut lecture of this year's symposium. The lecture has been titled: "Collecting Cards: Ideas and Themes", where the lecturer shall be talking about their card collecting efforts and how one could follow such path.	25th August, 15:00 PM UTC

S5 Artwork Contest	Just like all the past editions, this symposium also has an artwork contest. Participants are asked to submit their own creation of how they would like to have the "Season Five" cards to look like in different rarities and the best submission shall be receiving a random legendary card and the runners up will receive a random epic card. Guest Lecture #2	Giovanniland returns to the Symposium with another banger lecture on the Card Community. Giovanniland will be presenting a lecture titled "Reflections on the Future of Cards", talking about how the community has progressed and what is there for the community in the future.	26th August, 23:00 PM UTC

Hunger Games	The Symposium shall feature a game of Hunger Games which is been sponsored by 9005 who has been successfully running The Wellspring's weekly hunger games program. The winner of the game shall be receiving a random legendary card and the runners up will receive a random epic card.	27th August, 13:30 PM UTC
Guest Lecture #3	Kractero joins the lecturer's list of this symposium with a technical lecture rather than the one's that talk about the usual cards knowledge. Kractero will be presenting a lecture titled "Modern Card Tool Ramblings", talking about multiple tools that they've created for the community and about the more technical aspect of cards farming.	27th August, 18:30 PM UTC

Guest Lecture #4	Arlizplot will be at the Symposium with their debut lecture on cards exploring a underrated topic to speak about. Arlizplot will be presenting a lecture titled "The Unwritten Rules of NationStates Cards", talking about the informal knowledge which governs card trading in the community that isn't established but many people follow.	28th August, 11:00 AM UTC
Cards Against Nationstates	An implementation of the party game "Cards Against Humanity," where people attempt to divine universal truths by finishing each other's sentences. Released as an april fools event back in 2015, this is now a permanent feature in the game. The Symposium's game shall be hosted by Art Landia.	28th August, 17:30 PM UTC

Blooket	Multiple games of the online game, Blooket (similar to Kahoot!) will be hosted in the server by ForFishing and the winners shall be receiving a random epic card.	29th August, 20:30 PM UTC

Guest Lecture #5	The North Pacific's own Art Landia will be presenting a lecture titled "Introduction to Cards and Card Farming", making way for newcomers to the community to learn and understand more on the card farming mechanism in Nationstates.	30th August, 19:00 PM UTC

Closing Ceremony	The North Pacific Card Symposium 2026 shall come to an end after a week long of fun and celebrations. All the event results will be announced on this day and the process of gifting cards shall commence. What's in it for me if I attend?

Not only will you get the chance to gain first-hand knowledge regarding the cards game, but you'll also receive multiple chances to win random legendary cards each day, including off-season ones and the Season 4 Testlandia!

Each day, there will be 1 lottery that will take place, and a random user attending the event will be the recipient of a randomized legendary card. In addition, multiple events + competitions will be hosted that will reward the winner with cards of the same rarity as mentioned, so not only will participation in those events be fun, but they'll also be highly rewarding! There shall also be random games that could get you random epic cards.
