*Presidential Statement – May 22, 2029**

My fellow citizens,

Today our nation faces a grave and uncertain situation. Earlier this evening, we received confirmed reports of military engagements near **Holamune Airbase** in the region of Fortune Dharmika. Multiple aircraft fly-bys were detected, followed by coordinated attacks on positions in both Palomas and Dharmika.

Initial mission reports indicate that forces from several nations have entered the region, and control of key locations is rapidly changing. Holamune Airbase has been seized by unidentified forces, and heavy fighting has occurred across nearby sectors. Communication with several units has been lost, and emergency evacuations have been requested but remain unavailable due to ongoing combat conditions.

At this time, we have received reports of significant losses. Current battlefield assessments list **1,839 personnel missing in action**, **2,546 confirmed killed in action**, and numerous wounded still awaiting evacuation under fire. Our forces on the ground continue to act with courage under extremely difficult circumstances.

We have also received reports that the cities of Palomas and Dharmika are being seized by unidentified or unconfirmed national forces. The position of Statimpia in this conflict remains unclear at this moment.

Our government is working urgently with our allies and defense leadership to assess the situation, secure the safety of our personnel, and determine the full scope of this attack. Every possible effort is being made to establish evacuation corridors and restore contact with the units currently under fire.

Tonight, we stand with the brave men and women who answered the call to serve. We honor those who have fallen, we will not forget those missing, and we will do everything in our power to bring our people home.
