The Season 3 card format is better than the Season 4 format

This dispatch simply expresses an opinion. As it is a matter of aesthetics, I don't necessarily expect you to agree with me.

Both the S3 and the S4 format are flawed. The main S3 flaws I perceive are:

• Some cards are ruined by having text covering a key part of the image. This happens most commonly where the image is of a person with their face covered by text.

• This format tends to work poorly for many flags that were originally jpegs, because flaws in the jpeg format are magnified. A card with the original default flag compares badly with one with the current default flag.
  

The main S4 flaws I perceive are:

• Images with a vertical orientation often have key parts of the image truncated, due to the full image being larger than the card format allows, for instance showing only the portion of a person below the neck. This flaw is frequently present for images which also exhibit the first S3 flaw described above.

• Many images with detailed artwork have the artwork reduced to where it is hard to make out the details. My experience so far is that this happens quite frequently.
  

So far, my experience is that these flaws show up more often in S4 cards than in S3 cards. This is based on a small sample of S4 cards, as they have been live only about a week. Maybe I will change my mind about this with greater experience. In fact, I hope I do, as getting more good S3 cards for my collection is now going to be hard.
