Ridgefield Happenings Report - September 2024

September was very eventful for Ridgefield. Here's everything you need to know, courtesy of me, Byrd.

Government

The biggest change of this month happened on the very first day, as elections for the brand new position of World Assembly Ambassador were held between Syldis and Kay Pacha. With a vote of 14-8, Kay Pacha became the inaugural WA Ambassador for Ridgefield. The changes she has done since her election will be covered in the World Assembly portion of this paper.

In other government news, one bill was passed this month: CR-3-008 - Holidays Act of 2024, which established the official holidays of the Town of Ridgefield.

Membership and World Assembly

Ridgefield has continued following its trend of upward momentum, as we've risen from 89 WA nations at the end of August to 91 at the end of september. Meanwhile, our mayor Haymarket Riot has risen from 61 endorsements at the end of last month to an all time peak of 69 endorsements (nice). We've also risen from 21.1 average endos to a whopping 25.3.

As was said previously, Kay Pacha has been elevated to the position of World Assembly Ambassador, and she got right to work. Every week, Kay Pacha releases a dispatch analyzing the WA and giving a voting recommendation to Ridgefielders who read the dispatch. This paper has been a great aid for evaluating new and incoming resolutions, and has gathered a lot of positive interest and feedback. As her position describes, she has also been advising and discussing new proposals with the Mayor to evaluate what the recommendation should be. Already, the position of WA Ambassador has a great incumbent.

Of course, as we always do, we continue to eject non-WA nations from the region, with the exception of last week where we paused ejections due to an update glitch.

Foreign Affairs

At the very beginning of the month, the Augustin Alliance as a whole opened up embassies with the Pacific, as well as with The League. These two are sure to be friends of the Alliance for a very long time.

The new embassy with The League also came with a new treaty: The Treaty of Serious Business, a treaty which titularly establishes an alliance between the Augustin Alliance and The League and Concord. The Alliance also signed a separate treaty this month as well: The Pamlico Accords. which established a similar alliance with Blue Ridge. Both of these treaties are sure to lead to great things for the Alliance.

September has clearly been another in a line of big months for Ridgefield, and I cannot wait to write about our development more next month as well.

To all of our friends, in case I don't see you, Good Afternoon, Good Evening, and Good Night.
