Guideline to Roleplay(Mostly done)
Bad RoleplayThe following definitions are the ones we use and may be different to others.
No Powergaming: This is where you decide the outcome of your roleplay towards another player or control what the other player does.
No Godmodding: Your nation or character can do feats far beyond the realistic capabilities of your nation. Invincible against other players with no possible defence. Oftentimes paired with powermodding.
No Metagaming: This is including or using OOC knowledge in your roleplay that you wouldn't be able to know irp.
No Retconning: This is attempting to change or delete past events in the roleplay or ignoring the implications and outcomes of those events.
Roleplay with NPC's
When your roleplay involves a npc nation you should ping a moderator to roleplay as the NPC on your behalf. This is to ensure your interactions with NPC's are fair and realistic. Sometimes another player may roleplay the NPC instead, such as when an NPC under that players influence.
War
While industrial warfare is rare armed conflicts still happen across the world. You may fight a war against an npc(in which case you'll rp against a rp moderator) or another player.
We do not require any agreement between players for armed conflict to take place, in addition the conflict may be organic or it can be pre-planned. if it is pre-planned then all involved players must be aware of this. In case of disagreement a RP Moderator can arbitrate.
Using Weapons of Mass Destruction(WWD's) is only allowed in exceptional cases where the use of such weapons would realistically happen, for example when a nation's continued existence is threated. Even then it requires Roleplay Moderator's approval.
Technology
You will be able to develop new technology in this roleplay but it must have a basis in reality. Furthermore you must have a realistic development time, look at development irl for similar projects as an example. RP Moderators are free to decanonise technology that is unrealistic or too advanced for the time perhaps requiring a longer development process. Balancing is another reason to ban a technology from the rp.
Moderator action for Roleplay
Firstly RP Moderators moderate the roleplay. They ensure the standard of quality is met by watching out for cases of bad roleplay and ensuring realism and accuracy. Unlike with the General Rules the RP Moderators will have to use personal judgement a lot more in order to moderate roleplay. Understandably mistakes can be made so in cases of violations, RP Moderators will simply decanonise the offending post, explain what was one wrong and how. You are allowed to ask questions regarding the ruling but if you wish to repeal it you must bring the case before the RP Administrator who will give a final verdict.
Roleplayers with a history of failing to match the standard of roleplay, especially in cases they were being committing deliberate bad roleplay or unrealism could see their continued participation brought into doubt. Such cases would be decided by the Roleplay Administrator.
Roleplay Moderators will also respond to requests by players for game-master actions like roleplaying the response of a NPC to a players message. They can also be assigned/given approval for development of the region(making factbooks) or development of the roleplay(events) by the RP Administrator.
