Roleplay Etiquette

For a stable and fun roleplay environment in the region, please keep in mind the following while you're playing:

(1) Roleplaying is to be primarily done on the Regional Message Board.

(2) IC means "In-character", which implies that you are in RP mode, and everything posted is contributing to roleplaying your nation. OOC means "Out-of-character", which means that you are not currently roleplaying your nation, and everything posted will not contribute to RP, whether it is about the rules or totally random stuff. OOC of all kinds must be kept to an absolute minimum.

(3) Be respectful to everyone. Mindless insults and rude behavior in IC is fine as long as it contributes to the plot, but in OOC, it is absolutely unacceptable. Please indicate whether your post is IC or OOC to prevent any misunderstandings.

(4) Accept imperfections. Every nation has its flaws, and we can use this to make our RP experience more realistic. This also means that you should be prepared to lose a battle or a war.

(5) Don't godmod. Events like building an aircraft carrier within 2 days and taking over entire nations in one week are extremely unrealistic with our current level of technology. Please refrain from posting events IC that make your nation unrealistically overpowered.

(6) Don't play someone else's nation. Please see (4).

(7) For healthy time progression, assume 1 real-life day = 1 in-game week. This rule usually does not apply during international meetings.

(8) Make sure your RP post is at least 3 sentences. One-sentence IC posts are a waste of good space.

(9) Please use correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation. One good way to correct any mistakes is to copy/paste your post into Microsoft Word and correct all the underlined errors that it finds. This will help you with your writing skills not only in regional RP, but also life in general.

(10) Try to make war a last resort option. Attempt diplomacy first, as done in real life politics. However, if war were to break out, please refrain from using nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons should be the ultimate last resort option in war, because fallout would be devastating.

(11) The technology level for this region is Modern Tech. However, you may research technology in areas that you want. Be sure to make technological advancements occur at a slow pace, taking into account the progression of time. That means new weapons technology researched in only one week is definitely not allowed.

(12) Finally, have fun! Don't let these rules intimidate you, they're just here to ensure we all have an immersive roleplaying environment conducive to the benefit of all in the region.
