October 1st Election Campaign

Welcome to the Populist Party of Callista.
Are you tired of the two mainstream, captalist parties constantly trampling your rights in the name of bureacracy? Are you tired of seeing the same old oligarchs run over and over again? Are you ready for a change on the stage of Callistan politics? Well, me too. That's why the Populist Party has a simple promise, and that is to set the region straight, once and for all.

Issue 1: Recruitment Crisis
Although the Baloominati's recruitment plan was good enough, it has fallen short in the last few months; not the fault of Baloo or the Minister of Recruitment, instead the lack of attention. That's why the PPC will enforce a strict quota: 70 nations, at minimum. It really isn't that much of a bargain, and the PPC will enlist Baloo's recruitment expertise to help reach the quota. This policy will also remove the office of Minister of Recruitment, as its job is possible without the existence of a special RO position and is somewhat bureaucratic, as admitted by the former CTP founder himself.[1]

Issue 2: Partisan Bias
One of the offices with the most power is the Head Justice, but power left unchecked corrupts, and that creates bias. Because of this, Head Justice elections have become too biased nowadays. That's why the PPC will propose that Head Justice races should be non-partisan, in which whoever is willing to run, can. We believe this will help for two reasons: a) There will be less bias in elections, and b) Newer players will have a better chance of getting into government if they run without a party.

Issue 3: RMB Length
It's clear that the length of the Callistan RMB is becoming increasingly longer, of course by number of pages, but also by length of posts. Some members have expressed dismay towards the length of these posts, mostly roleplay posts, and that having to scroll through each one is difficult.[2] Upon being elected, the PPC will enforce a strict spoilering policy on all RP posts, considering unspoilered posts as spam.

Issue 4: Foreign Neutrality
Though both Baloo and Rome have expressed a neutral position on the question of foreign alliance, the PPC expresses a desire to reach out and connect with other regions, such as the Institute of Cellulose and Sophia, as a symbol of diplomacy. Official alliance drafts may also be made in the future to further legitimize these connections, and maybe even organized special events, much like the Larasta Yearly Hedonistic Acts, so long as the other regions agree.

Issue 5: Bureaucracy
Several citizens have expressed dismay towards the ever-increasing amount of regional officers, and the PPC will listen to their calls. As outlined in the first section, the Ministry of Recruitment will be abolished. Along with this, the PPC will also combine the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs into a singular entity: the Minister of Regional Affairs. Not to cast shade on the H Corporation, but the Minister of Internal Affairs is, quite frankly, a useless position, with its only real responsibility being to suppress posts, something any other RO can do.

Issue 6: Diversity (Or rather, a lack thereof)
Baloo and Rome, with the exception of Ethics and myself, have been the sole contenders in the prime minister races since February of 2022, and in Ethics's and my races, Rome and Baloo were the respective lieutenant prime minister candidates. The PPC believes that citizens are getting tired of seeing the same candidates over and over again, and so the PPC will give a new option and a new voice to the people of Callista. After all, only one of these proposed legislation changes are even being thought about on the mainstream Callistan political stage, let alone presented.

Are you ready for a change? Are you ready for a new voice? Vote Mushroom Gorge/Arisyan- for the PPC on October 1st, 2023.
