"Divine Right is what The Lord has granted me, and I what I have granted upon myself as well. To not allow me to execute it to the fullest would be unchristian and treason."
- Imperator Augustus VI

Imperator Augustus VI is the hotheaded, antagonistic and arrogant Monarch of the Hyperborean Commonwealth. While obviously spoiled throughout his entire life, thanks to the fact that he would be from the Lombardo Dynasty, he wouldn’t live as lavish a lifestyle as many previous Monarchs of Hyperborea and the Magna Commonwealth. However, as mentioned, his arrogance and hatred of being told no would be greater than by far most.

Early Life

While Augustus VI was not exactly born into the Janosian Royal Family, his great-grandfather became King while he was still very young. Of course the title of King of Janosia would purely be a constitutional one, as per the agreement between the Magna Commonwealth and the Janosian State, but despite this he would quickly be introduced to a world where he and his family were greatly respected. And thus his lifestyle would turn into one of extreme arrogance and generally egotism. This would not be helped when, a bit later in his life, his grandfather became the Imperator of the Hyperborean Commonwealth.

Rise in Politics

When his grandfather became Imperator, Prince Augustus’ influence grew greatly. Not just in his personal surroundings, but in an international scale. His grandfather was a rather weak man, seeing as he had gotten used to being just a constitutional figurehead, only worried about not slipping up too badly. And so a manipulative person like his grandchild, Augustus, could easily get great influence over him, and thus all of Hyperborea. And so this is what he did, much to the annoyance of his uncle, and the Heir to Hyperborea, Nicholaus III, who also wanted to control his father. And thus a rivalry between the two began. When the grandfather of Augustus, Septimus IV, died, his influence shrank immensely. As instead of him now being the closest advisor of the Imperator, who was now his uncle, it became a commoner and Captain of the Red Forces, Markus Meibomius-Bierhals. The hero of the War of the Arm, which was a war between the Magna and the Untecnans, which was indirectly started by Prince Augustus, and the most beloved and respected person in the Magna Commonwealth. This would help fuel the disdain that Prince Augustus had for commoners even further. Luckily his uncle would be assassinated, and since he had no sons, the rather unpopular Augustus VI would reluctantly be crowned Imperator.

Leadership

Augustus VI would take great pleasure in having as much power as one would as Imperator, and would use it to the fullest. And yet he would still be greedy and hungry for more, as he would be unhappy about the fact that he would have to share his power with the Prime Minister, Mikhail Gorbachev, who he in fact disliked quite vigorously due to his socialist outlook on life. Augustus VI would also, as many others before him, entertain the idea of the Divinum Posteri, as it in theory granted him a more sacred and powerful status. And while he would be more interested in the Divinum Posteri revolving specifically around the Monarchs of the Ludist, he would secretly promote the idea within the Kristic Church. This little secret, however, would become greatly publicised when after having successfully imposed martial law over all of the Hyperborean Commonwealth, he helped the creation of the Augustan Church, starting the The Kristic Schism. The Augustan Church would be a new Church, named after Augustus V, that would believe in the tenants of the Divinum Posteri, and the ideologies and beliefs surrounding it. He would also order the arrest of Markus Meibomius-Bierhals, because of his decision to protect Patriarch Lucius VI of the Orthodox Church, however this would be unsuccessful. And this, along with the greed and gluttony of him and his ancestors, would cause Captain Bierhals, Prime Minister Mikhail Gorbachev, and all other tired of the Lombardo Dynasty’s gluttonous tyranny fight against him, and the Monarchy. Eventually, as the resistance would grow stronger, and the Magna Commonwealth would be pulled into a conflict on the side of Cerata, Augustus VI needed to get the support of Markus Meibomius-Bierhals and the Red Forces once again. And so he had no choice but to agree to the demands of the Conspirationis de Maius Libertatis. This would reunite the Kristic Church, under Orthodox rule. And make Augustus VI a completely powerless monarch, with Captain Bierhals as Primus Ductor, Patriarch Lucius VI as Secundus Ductor, and Georgios de Tinari as Tertius Ductor. This would of course leave Bierhals as the most powerful man in the Magna Commonwealth, and as per an agreement with Mikhail Gorbachev, he would also have the Hyperborean Commonwealth disbanded. His loss would turn into a great personal depression, which would, over the years, turn him insane. Rumours of his lunacy would spread, and he would be known as Augustus the Mad. And thus Markus Meibomius agreed to his sons plan, Crown Prince Augustus, consisting of the abdication of Augustus VI. King Augustus would prove most unwilling, however his madness and his depression would make him powerless. And so his son would force his abdication, ending his unpopular and tumultuous reign.

Personal Information

Augustus VI is married to Anna de Wasenau-Wazowie, the former spouse of Imperator Luis XI. With her he has two children, a son and a daughter, Prince Augustus and Princess Julia. Their family is not a particularly close one, and Augustus VI only chose to marry Anna due to the fact that she was the wife of an Imperator, which would earn him quite a bit of prestige, seeing as how his position as future Imperator was in no way solidified at the time of the marriage. His relationship with his children would also be rather cold, however he would have been successful in disciplining them quite greatly. Yet their privilege, greed and gluttony would still be rampant and apparent.

Personal Trivia

  • Augustus VI has a string distaste for jazz

Quotes

“The common folk serve, it’s purely biological. The history books and the Bible have proven it a multitude of times.”

“The supremacy of the human aristocracy is such an obvious truth, that debating it is pointless. If the Xenos were allowed the power of man, even that of a simple commoner with no important blood, the societies that they spent their unsanitary days in would be destroyed completely by their own incompetence. History has proven it, and that is true enough.”
