Royaume-class Battleship
Royaume Super-Dreadnought
The Royaume class is a class of super-dreadnought currently being built for the Commonwealth Navy since the 1920's. A total of four ships were ordered in 1920 in response to the naval rearmament of several of the Commonwealth's neighbors. The Royaumes were based on a multitude of unbuilt designs from the Five Years' War that were modernized with technologies of the era with a more powerful battery of 406 mm (16 in) guns. Due to the turboelectric propulsion of the Royaumes, the general arrangement of turrets and superstructure of the battleships differed much from the previous Sainte Anabelle class. The main battery was placed in four quadruple turrets, with the funnel towards the aft of the ship to accomodate the turboelectric shafts.
