[01-10-2022] Ethics-Barlyy Prime Ministerial Election Campaign

The CTP, Yet Again

"Well? Who are you and why should we vote for you?"

Hello! We are the Constitutional Tsarist Party's (AKA the CTP's) candidates for the Prime Ministerial election which shall commence on the 1st of October. Specifically, Ethics Committee of the SCPF is the PM candidate, while Barlyy (who is me!) is his running mate.

We are both very experienced people when it comes to regional politics. I am the multiple times Lieutenant Prime Minister (LPM), and once served as the Prime Minister; Ethics is the chairman of the CTP, the current LPM, and someone who's very much experienced when it comes to regional politics.

So you're still wondering why you should vote for us, hm? Well, this is your lucky day! This dispatch has been made specifically to answer your questions. So, let's get down to explaining why we fight!

1) Providing Stable Roleplay

The CTP has always seen improving roleplay as one of its most important priorities, and we do not intend to change that at all. In fact, you will only witness roleplay improve if we are elected, and that will be apparent once we implement some changes, such as:

  • overall improvements to cartography

  • the development of a stable roleplay framework

  • more time devoted to encouraging roleplay

One important thing many people don't consider is that roleplay can only be active if people are actively roleplaying. The critiques of our administration's handling of the roleplay are flawed, as we have done everything in our power to improve the roleplay itself. The most important thing will be to encourage other people—such as those from Institute of Cellulose, a good ally of ours— to participate in it, which we will very much do.

2) Improved Foreign Affairs, Activity, and Interregional Events

As an expert when it comes to Foreign Affairs, I believe we need to do more, as more foreign affairs = more fame = more activity. While I have tried to coordinate an event with IOC, I was ultimately left unanswered by one of the parties (looking at you, Wooloos...), but I believe we can try again. The IOC-Callista bond will grow stronger with this event.

Another proposal this "improved activity" section entails is allowing triple posting but disallowing quadruple-posting. The region benefits when its RMB is mostly unregulated but still within site rules.

3) Detective + Police Force + Prosecutor = A Promise

A few days before I wrote this dispatch, I personally filed a lawsuit against someone named Yazakhastan. Even though I did not get the guilty verdict I wanted, it was nonetheless a huge success -- a successful revitalization of the judicial system, that is. The lawsuit I filed made a lot of people suddenly notice the existence of the judicial system which has been basically unused for ages. This lawsuit gave me an additional idea: a CHIEF PROSECUTOR.

The Chief Prosecutor would be a Regional Officer, appointed by the Head Justice. They would essentially be a detective, the entirety of the police force, and an active prosecutor at the same time. Let me elaborate on this: The Chief Prosecutor would work for the government, and would find & investigate suspicious individuals, and have the ability to prosecute them on behalf of the government. This would not only make sure no shady dealings are made which could possibly corrupt the government, it would also help dictate what would be the ideal punishment for a crime. Without the installation of a Chief Prosecutor, nobody knows for how long a person should be banned. The word of the person who did the banning is law unless the banned person appeals this decision -- and so far, that has almost never happened. However, with a Chief Prosecutor, nobody will be able to ban or eject someone else without it going through a court first (except in cases of a guilty plea). But of course, we mustn't let the Chief Prosecutor go overboard with these powers; thankfully, it's relatively easy to prevent any abuse of power. Firstly, the final verdict is given by the Head Justice after all, so miscarriage of justice is very very unlikely. Secondly, and last but not least, if the Chief Prosecutor were to file a very much politically-motivated lawsuit with ill intent, they would be instantly fired from their position.

This installation of the Chief Prosecutor will be a massive help. It will help rejuvenate our judicial system, it will help bring criminals to justice, it will ensure the transparency of our government, and it will make sure that no innocent person is harmed by any unfair banjections.

4) The Opposition's Incompetence & A Story Of Inactivity and Empty Promises

I believe this should be very much obvious, but I will have to go over this: The Baloominati is currently in no shape whatsoever to lead our region. Its members are underqualified and apathetic while its higher-ups cannot come up with any real, tangible promises or solutions to the supposed problems our region is facing. Allow me to demonstrate how ambiguous the Baloominati's promises are by using their own weapon against them: their campaign dispatch!

So, allow me to show you the flaws in these arguments!

  • "Foreign Roleplay Sourcing":

    • Claims that the CTP failed to create any meaningful roleplay reform, which is incorrect. While many Callistans do end up being very active in IOC's roleplay, they still do participate in our own. As we improve the roleplaying system, it will get better and people will hopefully become more active.

    • No solid plan is made by the Baloominati to improve roleplay. Only "we will improve it if you give us power". [sidenote: the Baloominati is much less experienced than the CTP when it comes to roleplay. It is not even a contest.]

  • "CTE Crisis/Activity":

    • Just flatout wrong. Callista currently has 83 members and that number is only going up. The member count peaked at 93 in Februrary -- when I was still the Prime Minister.

    • RMB activity has been rising thanks to the aforementioned lawsuit, more roleplay, and newer members. It is wrong to say that the RMB is inactive.

  • "Government Disinterest":

    • Claims of government inactivity are baseless. The Cabinet is still very much active despite people (e. g. me and GWU) taking breaks at times, but I doubt the Baloominati claims that real-life < NationStates.

    • The Baloominati is a party made up of people who are not really active in politics, so it is hypocritical to claim that the CTP is the inactive one.

    • Most of the Baloominati's members are morbidly underqualified to be picked Regional Officers. This will most certainly lead to the Baloominati picking members from the CTP as their cabinet members if they win, thus making the claim that the CTP's cabinet is inactive very ironic.

  • "Law Ambiguity":

    • The law is very much understandable. This change would make absolutely zero difference. The only reason it is on this dispatch is so that the Baloominati can claim it has "a promise" when it is, ultimately, an insignificant one.

  • "Sketchy Odyssey":

    • While Rome has stated his recent disinterest in politics, he has very much helped in our decision making process prior to it.

    • I may have a criminal record in Bluecrown Keep, but I have never violated the law nor committed a crime in Callista. I am shameful of the actions I undertook in BCK, and any jokes I make or *will* make about committing crimes are purely sarcastic comments. It would be against the Callistan spirit -- one that advocates forgiveness, reform, and rehabilitation with a side order of common sense and justice -- to have my name be tarnished forever because of a crime I committed almost two years ago.

    • The section about Ethics "not having a real promise" is a real knee-slapper because of how ironic it is. While Ethics has made and fulfilled many of his promises, the Baloominati is yet to make any promise worthy of noting.

Closing Statements

I think just the fact that the opposition is yet to present... well, any solid plan to improve our region is telling. They have no real ideas of "reform". We, on the other hand, do. If you read this dispatch very carefully, you are bound to see which party will ultimately help our region. The one with real ideas of reform? Or an old party which has been in decline—in terms of popularity and in cognition— for months?

Make the right choice.
