The All-Callista Renewal Front
"Two Steps Back"

Overview

Callista is degenerating. We have lost out on what made Callista such a special region. Our sense of community is frayed by internal division, unneeded political drama, and roleplay conflicts spilling over into out of character interactions. Callista was never meant to be a region bloated by bureaucracy, with roleplay and chat clashing incessantly. Our origins lie in the Triumvirate and Bluecrown Keep, regions without a need for complicated politiking. A place for their residents to simply interact in peace, to build their own canon if they so chose, and to enjoy themselves free from the bog of modern Gameplay politics. The All-Callista Renewal Front will redeem Callista. The All-Callista Renewal Front will bring about the End of History - no need for other parties, politics, pointless arguments. It will be a new era of stability and security.

Law and Governance

Callista is pointlessly bogged down by a pointless democracy. While the necessity of an elected official to run basic governance is acknowledged, pointless bureaucracy and a convoluted Constitution only cause chaos. The All-Callista Renewal Front proposes several changes to the governance of Callista in order to promote stability, reduce drama, and to end the endless bickering. Firstly, the abolishment of the Minister of Roleplay, the Secretary of the Press (yet keeping Callista Dispatches as a nation), and the Head Justice. The Minister of Roleplay is a pointless elected position. Appointment of moderators based on skill and capability is a far better choice. Secondly, the Secretariat of the Press is, with all things considered, useless. The nation of Callista Dispatches, however, need not go; it will keep serving as the regional dispatch nation, just with no regional office title connected with it. Finally, the Head Justice fails as an arbitrator. Arbitration by the executive, who has no need to worry about politics or their position, is a better choice.

The Renewal Front also proposes the Minister of Domesttic Affairs be renamed to the Minister of Security, as it suits their purpose much better, and for the Minister of Foreign Affairs to have their permissions related to internal affairs be removed. Instead, they should focus more on maintaining good relations, and actively remaining in contact with foreign regions instead of maintaining passive embassies. This allows for Callista to grow closer to regions that matter, rather than having countless pointless embassies. Reform to embassy requirements would also be an option, the specifics of which could be determined based on the opinion of important officials and figures. The Constitution could also use a rework, and a deep dive into its workings in order to work out necessary amendments to close the loopholes created by countless bureaucracy-increasing amendments and bills.

Culture and the Region

Callista has always been a social region, first and foremost. Roleplay must remain secondary. That is why all RP posts will be forcibly spoilered under the All-Callista Renewal Front. Not only that, the MoRP (as previously mentioned) will not be an officer. Roleplay moderators will be appointed, and unofficial. This will hopefully allow basic chat to begin thriving again, and cut down on overwhelming roleplay discussion. Another issue that exists is the current theming of Callista. Callista has never been a region with a political bent, yet we have multiple tags that make it seem like we are. The Renewal Front will remove all political tags and replace them with the neutral one, and also allow citizens to voice what tags they think the region should have, since tags are often a new recruit's first guess at what the region has to offer.

Conclusion

The All-Callista Renewal Front promises to return to the traditional values which have kept and will keep the region of Callista strong. Recognizing the peril of bureaucratic excess and divisive politics, the Renewal Front advocates for a streamlined governance structure, proposing the elimination of redundant positions and a shift towards a small-government and anti-bureaucratic regime. The strict opposition to roleplay and a return to chatism is incumbent upon all of Callista's members, and the negelct of this by other parties such as the Baloominati and the Independents For Rhenzern (which is, for all intents and purposes, a political party) is patent. The All-Callista Renewal Front will empower its members to make more impactful decisions, as well as the region of Callista itself, as its true roots are in Bluecrown Keep.
